  1. Just wondering...how does lap band compare with having a cesarean section? I've had three C-sections, appendix out, and a total hip replacement. No stranger to the operating room!
  2. Welcome skinnymoo! Glad to see you here. First pre op diet day down for me. Ended up with a nagging headache, but excited to finally get started. How was everyone elses? Banjo, are you there? You OK?
  3. It's starting to be a reality! Kind of like jumping into the deep end of a swimming pool. Fun, but kind of anxious at the same time. One good thing (for me) is I have a diet that is clear cut. No guess work what so ever. Good luck to everyone starting their diets! It's great knowing there's others out there going through the same thing!
  4. Yep. I'm here! Thanks for starting this. I know it will be a great help and fun! December Divas; love it
  5. Banjo, I wish you ALL the best!
  6. Cheznoel, can you extend your thoughts to me too? Getting banded on Dec 17 also and would love good thoughts sent my way. Btw, I'll be turning 50 (!) in January. Really looking forward to the coming year!
  7. Whoop, whoop! I'm scheduled for the 17th I just bought Isopure protein in Dutch Chocolate. I LOVE it. Getting ready to start pre-op diet. I'd like to keep in touch!
  8. Hi! The 17th for me too. I'm in Southern Idaho. Excited for this to happen! Keep in touch
  9. Hey banjo. Yeah! We will have to compare notes. I love your posts by the way
  10. Hi Julie, welcome! I will be banded December 17th so I'm fairly new here. I've only posted one question but I started getting replys almost immediately! I am SO grateful for that support. It's fantastic someone is out there going through the same thing and willing to share.
  11. Also consider the anesthesia stays in your body for quite some time. After major surgery I had a reaction like this. Dark room, cold washcloth, no noise. If you get it under control, stay on top of the pain by taking meds on time. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
  12. You look so pretty! Love the bangs. Looking forward to your update posts
  13. I would love to have this. Thanks! chakincov@yahoo.com
  14. When someone doesn't want to see the truth others are telling them, they think they are being bullied. Everyone else is wrong. At this point it is obvious you don't recognize how offensive you are. Nothing said here is going to change that. So be it. I will continue respect and appreciate all posts given in a manner of helping and always be grateful for those who have gone before, been successful and are willing to share.
  15. Wait one minute! What was that all about!! Carolinagirl was trying to help you by saying that there is NOT an answer to your question. Anyone giving you an exact number is just guessing and it wouldn't do you good anyway. I love this forum because of the supportive feeling I get. Attacking someone who took the time to reply back is not helping anyone. Please rethink your post.
  16. Sorry, typing on my phone. But, congratulations on making it to the other side! Best wishes!
  17. Thanks everyone. This just took me off guard. That and having to pay an extra $250 for the test. Yes, by the time I got out of there I was questioning my sanity. Now I'm questioning theirs! Sure hope this doesn't hold things up...or worse.
  18. I just came from the pre-surgery phycologist appointment. Because I listed Zoloft as a medication, I now have to take an hour long test with tons MORE questions. I don't know what to think about this. Is anyone taking antidepressants with the lap band? Could I be denied because of being treated for depression? Thanks for any thoughts.

  20. Yes, South Eastern Idaho. Right now its half price of what the cost usually is. Not sure how long it will stay that way. You can Google Dr. Anthony Davis. He has great credentials and has a nice personality. The name of the hospital is Bingham Memorial. Best wishes!

  22. In Blackfoot, it is $7,400 which is for self-pay. It includes all costs at hospital, plus 6 months of follow up/fills. I'm scheduled for December 17th and so far very impressed with Dr. Davis.
  23. Hi bigwade, I am scheduled to have surgery Dec. 17th in Blackfoot by Dr. Davis. I would love to hear your experience.
