  1. I was banded on 10/10/12 and immediately dropped 11 lbs. I was working out and eating right (which I am still doing). I have not lost ANY more weight. I just had my first fill on 11/29/12 and my dr put in 5 cc's. I don't feel restricted, I'm always hungry even when I eat Protein packed food. I have a lot of stressors right now(my husband is deploying to Afghanistan) and I know that's part of it, but I am just so discouraged and almost disgusted that I had this amazing surgery and STILL cannot lose weight. I guess I just feel alone on this. I want to be healthy and fit and it's just not happening. Le sigh.
  2. Thank you all for the encouraging replies. It means so much to me. I will definitely be putting your alls advice to use!
  3. I usually have a Greek yogurt for Breakfast and then a cup of coffee 30 mins later. lunch is usually a lean cuisine and dinner is usually chicken or fish and veggies. If I DO snack it's on clementines or low fat cheese or cottage cheese. I drink a TON of Water but I hate having that sloshy feeling in my stomach. I go back for another fill on 1/10/13
  4. My surgeon was not that strict either! The first week I was on liquids but not Clear Liquids. I just went for my first post op last Thursday and he moved me to mushies. Next week on Thursday I can move on to regular food. I was banded on October 10th and I don't get my first fill until November 29th. I too noticed how different many people say their surgeons are. I'm losing weight and feeling better so I say as long as your surgeon listens to your concerns and you are healthy it's all good Good luck to you!!!
  5. I want to run and play with my son! And I can't wait to feel comfortable on a roller coaster again! And as someone said before I really want to zip line. I have started trying to just get up and move when I feel hungry or get the urge to eat and it's starting to help!

    October 2012 Bandsters

I was banded on 10-10-12 and I'm still on liquids too. I go back for my first follow up tomorrow! I have lost 8 pounds so far and I'm having a hard time with hunger but I'm determined to make it better
  7. I am almost a week out of my surgery date and I am so hungry! I have adequate Protein intake and try to keep busy but when inlet myself think....all I can think of is how hungry I am! I just want that feeling to go away what else can I do? I'm still in my liquid phase obviously and a person can only eat so much Soup and broth!
  8. I was banded on 10-10-12 and although I am healing great I have noticed a terrible pain in the lower left side of my abdomen. It feels like a pulled muscle and only hurts when I am up moving around. I see my surgeon Thursday for my post op appointment but just wanted to see if anyone else had this. Thanks!

  13. Hi all! I just got my band on 10-10-12 and I am looking for some online support! I have support from my family but its a stressful time as my husband just deployed. I am having a hard time feeling full unless I just drink ALL day and then I feel bloated and sick. Is this normal? I go for my post surgery appointment on Thursday

Is anyone out there from Kentucky?

Dr. Tanner was my surgeon and he was just awesome. He was polite, informative, and most of all reassuring. Suburban is a wonderful hospital and the staff there are very attentive to your needs! Dr. Gellar presented the seminar that I attended and I knew right then and there I did not want him to be my surgeon. He comes across as very arrogant and I find it sad that he us promoting weight loss surgery and is overweight himself! Good luck in whoever you choose!
