  1. I'm also the 27th! & very ready! I didn't have to lose anything before but couldn't gain a lot. I ended up adding abt 10# over the course of my journey, but that was a 15 mo trek, and my BMI is still in the safe zone, so they aren't worried about it. Plus, with the liquid diet, I've now dropped 13#, so I'm hoping to have a nice surprisingly lower weight for my surgeon when I get there.
  2. My favorite reply comes with a serious, interested facial expression. "Thanks for the tip, Captain Obvious!" Usually shuts them up.
  3. I'm a cook, & I'll be out at least 4 weeks due to the weight lifting restriction.
  4. You'll get there!! I jumped for 15 months. Here's to a speedy process!
  5. I'm curious how you made out. I'm also on Yaz & was originally told to stop taking it, but since my last surgeon appt in November they've apparently changed their mind. At my pre-op appt last Wed, the PA at my surgeon's office said I don't have to stop taking it, but that since I won't be able to take it for about 3-4 says due to being in the hospital I need to use a back up method for the rest of the month. A little confused, but whatever lol
  6. Hahaha!!! Good for you, doll.
  7. Start pushing water. It probably won't mess up your blood work, but it could slightly dehydrate you. Assuming you're not on a pre-op restrictive diet, or meds, I'd say it's probably ok.
  8. Hooooooly moooooooly, lady!! Awesome! What's your secret?
  9. My process has been 15+ months... but I had some snags along the way. I had to do 3 months of supervised weight loss, psych, cardio and gastro appts, ultrasound, and then had to mess around with insurance. I'm finally set for 3/27.
  10. I have a goal outfit, but it's like a "summer goal", n not end goal. I'm currently a size 22 & this outfit is 18. I like the idea of a "little black dress" goal sitting in my closet...
  11. I'm also March 27th & have been on liquids since March 6th (3 wks). The 1st 2 days were the worst. I'm a cook & work 70-ish hours/week & on top of being tired, I found my general energy level was down, but my hunger & blood sugar is actually more stable. Down 13# in 10 days, so all in all...
  12. I have to do 2 wks of liquids, but I did an extra week, for a couple reasons. I'm 11 days away now!!! very ready one minute & freaking internally the next
  13. THANK YOU, everyone!! I have been so grateful for the advice & knowledge & support that I've seen here. Can't wait to be on the losers bench!!!
  14. 14 months, a denial, 2 months of extra drama, a reversal...& 10 long days of waiting, later...I finally have a sleeve date! March 27, 2013 Whew.
  15. March 27th!!! How are you feeling??
  16. HAAAAA!!! That is epic. I so know what you mean there lol
  17. Is isopure a powder? I've seen it RTD at the pharmacy.
  18. I've been: *Reduced calories, tracking on My Fitness Pal (2040) *Protein 1st, Cruciferous Veggies 2nd, Fresh fruit 3rd, carbs sparingly. I'm good during the day, generally. *Avoid straw, was 100% but new job (different kitchen) says if you wanna drink, it has to be covered w/a straw :/ so now I'm about 80-90%. Post-op, I'll get a drs note & the union involved if I have to. *Protein shake for breakfast & pm snack (i use EAS lean 15) *No eating after 9, & have breakfast shake within 1 hr of waking--this was actually really the hardest as I used to be a sleep-eater (NES) *No carbonation...still working on this. After 13 months, I'm 99.5% off the coke zero, but I just transferred my fizzy addiction to seltzer. I fear this may end up being one of those things I'll have to "learn the hard way", post-op. :/ *Sticking to a schedule-for eating, sleeping, exercising, writing
  19. I never thought of shaved ice before! My kids have a snoopy snow cone maker...I'm gonna dig that puppy out today!!
  20. I love this thread. I'm so happy to hear of your success & for all the newbies just starting their journeys. I'll be there myself very soon, and its been such a roller coaster. So nice to see real world results.
