  1. Hi all I Also was 3/27. Surgery day was horrid. Ended up on 4 different nausea meds to stop the vomiting. Thursday was much better once the catheter was gone. I came home on Friday & thought I was going to die. The gas pains are still today keeping me out of the loop. My incisions don't hurt as much as they itch. Today I was supposed to start full liquids, but I'm not feeling it. I tried some yogurt, but that's as adventurous as I'm going to get. Lol
  2. Grammy! You look fabulous!
  3. I have been on it for over a year. It makes my period really short & light compared to when I'm not on it. I also don't get the side effects with it that I get on other bcp.
  4. I am on Yaz & I never had to stop taking it. They gave me heparin in the hospital, and I had to miss one day due to surgery. The birth control battle that I went through turned out to be a non-issue. I had mirena once & it was a disaster. I tried nuvaring & it was not for me at all. My Dr wouldn't do implanon due to possible device complications.
  5. You've already shared that you've lost a lot of weight and he's still hanging around. Your decision to tell about the surgery can wait, if you want. If he doesn't understand, someone else will. Good luck!
  6. I'm glad iggy chimed in. There are definitely plenty of people who regret it. I'm only 3 days post-op, so I may change my mind, but right now...I absolutely regret it. If I end up with a leak or something worse than my supposed "normal recovery" issues...I may just die. Not to sound overly dramatic. I did my research. I spent 8 months in "the program" before I met my surgeon, & another 6 months on VST really digging around, reading, doing more personal research based on stories I heard here... I thought I knew what I was getting into. I am in so much pain right now. Nothing you read or talk about with anyone can prepare you for that.
  7. THANK YOU!!! I'll definitely try that!
  8. Omigosh I'm so jealous! Haha glad your leg is ok! I've been using gas-x strips but they're not really helping. I tried pepto bismol liquid earlier & I can now at least hear my baby dino moving around. Lol
  9. Hi all. I'm on day 2 post-op. Home. And doubled over from gas. I've been using gas-x strips & walking a lot. Is there anything else I'm missing? Do you have any other tricks? Tia
  10. I switched to Myra, bc I didn't care for the other one's attitude. I'm not sure who the assistant coordinator is. It took me over a year bc of glitches, so they may have hired a new person. I haven't been to the NUT since Nov, bc I was originally supposed to be sleeved in Dec. I had some troubles, but overall it was a good experience. They've got their act together better than some other local programs.
  11. I just got home about 20 min ago, but I've been pretty mobile. Even in the hospital I was moving about a lot. I'm very happy with CMC and Surgical Associates. I don't have any real pain. There some discomfort, especially once I started drinking, but it's definitely tolerable.
  12. None in my legs at all. All of it is in my torso. I look pregnant! Lol
  13. I just got home! I am totally wiped out, though. I'm not in a ton of pain anymore, but I have a lot of tightness in my chest from trying to drink. The leak test was crazy. Very weird to watch. Lol & yes I passed. the only thing that's really annoying me is that overnight I gained back all the weight I lost in pre-op. So that just annoys me more bc I basically starved during my last few days/weeks of being able to eat real food, for nothing. I'm gonna spend the 1st month playing catch up...
  14. I was just released today from CMC. I had Dr Bollo, w/Dr Mecenas assisting. I researched a lot of programs before I settled on theirs.
  15. I actually didn't expect a loss 24 hours after surgery, but I certainly didn't expect to regain everything I lost on the liquid diet in one day, either.
  16. Hi All, Still in the hospital, but asked a nurse for a scale...& I'm UP 12# from yesterday before I had the surgery. I don't get it. It's like my biggest nightmare come true.... I know that some of it has to be IV Fluid, but honestly, I had a catheter and only like 4 bags of saline... Bummer. Now I've gotta lose that weight all over again right at the start.
  17. I have nearly-Irish twins. At 1st, I didn't want any kids. I had my 1st & adored him & didn't want anymore, but my ex-husband was an only child so he felt it was important to have one more. So we did, & then I wanted a 3rd. The only reason we didn't was bc of 9/11, actually. Then we ended up divorced. My current mister wants one & I'm not really opposed, but it'll be a timing issue. My kids are already teenagers & my bf is 38 this year, but that's a big reason why I got the surgery. Also...I'm a cleaning ocd freak. But...We call my kids' room "ground zero" if that tells you anything. They annoy me with it.
  18. Just got back from a leak test. They made me swallow this other stuff, not barium. I'm feeling a bit "stuffed" from that, but now I can have my catheter out & get clear fluids in!
  19. I was 7:30, too!
  20. Thank you, all! Yesterday was terrible. I was the 1st of the morning, but didn't shake off the anesthesia until about 9 p.m. I vomited a lot. But I walked a few times. And I have a private room! I was absolutely NOT expecting that
  21. Hi! I'm better today. Yesterday and last night was a wicked hellish ride. I vomited like 5 times and then my surgeon came back in with this worried look on his face. I ended up breaking down crying, saying, "I don't want to end up with a leak!" Had a leak test today and it looked good, so I'm just waiting for orders to remove the catheter & start on fluids!
