  1. Thank you! Thank you!! 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  2. Hi All :} 5'7", 33 y/o, F Highest (2007): 347 Current (since 2008 ): 284-288 *highest pre-op since becoming "pre-op": 294 Sizes: 22W jeans, XL/20 shirts, Surgery date TBD... Goal for surg day: 275-256 Long term goal: 147-135 (I have NO IDEA what size that will be) 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  3. I wear skeletoes & I have jogged since 2009. (barely--my body is too much for my frame unfortunately) & while I like the minimalist idea, I always end up with sore arches afterwards (did I mention I'm also flat feeted? Lol) but when I jog in regular shoes, I feel like my toenails are being ripped off. Just can't win. I LOVE to jog, though...it was one of my main motivators for doing the surgery--realizing that my body is collapsing under the stress of its own weight & im not willing to give up, resign to the couch & grow old at heart because of it. I'm hoping that post-op & 100# from now, I can enjoy it again. Until then, I'll have to hobble on my prosthetic shoes & multiple bone spurs. :\ 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  4. Congrats!!! :} I'm awaiting insurance yet, but still hoping for December! 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  5. I had COBRA a few years ago & while I didn't use it for surgery or anything that big, I did use it for dr visits, scripts, etc & I never really noticed/thought about the transition. I used the same cards, etc as I always had. I believe it's all internal w/ins co & employer. They know how to track/bill it. 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  6. I've been trying to wean myself, too....ugh! It's awful. I get the worst headaches. I hate coffee, so that's not gonna happen... I tried excedrin migraine before when quitting but it doesn't really work. I think beyond the caffeine, I'm totally addicted to the texture. Even now, that I'm thinking about the fizzing, I totally want a sip. 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  7. I have to agree. What I've noticed among myself & friends/family who are trying to diet is that diets don't necessarily fail...people fail to be patient, persistent, consistent...& so they follow a plan for a week (if they make it that long), or a few weeks maybe, & almost always start "slipping up" via making excuses for diet cheats. To tell someone that you're watching what you eat, eating a lot less, being consistent about it & exercising, is not a lie. The main difference between them & you is that you (we) have this little weapon inside us to combat the consistency monster. VSG is merely a restrictive procedure...there's no magic here. 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  8. I haven't called yet on mine. I'm glad to hear about the 10 days...thats a lot shorter than my surg office said to expect! Whew! 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | (twitter) @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com

  12. Ahh... I shall try this!! Thanks.
  13. Hi, I'm not sure if this is where I should be putting this but I have not been able to post from my app since last Thursday. I keep getting an error saying that I am trying to post to a link that the administrator has forbidden...or something to that effect. I have a screenshot on my iPod if you need it. Does anyone know what this means? I'm really missing my VST!!!!
  14. I was having the "time out" issue about a week ago, but I have been completely unable to post anything since Thursday evening (11/15/12). I'm on my son's pc right now. I get an error that says something like: "error: you are attempting to post a link that is forbidden by the administrator", and i get it no matter what i'm trying to do (post replies with or without quoting, starting a new thread), except that it let me do the chat. I tried deleting the app & reinstalling it today, but it didn't help at all.
  15. I'm glad to hear this! I've been working on my night eating for months. It's slightly better, but...
  16. I have struggled with this for 2 years--ever since I moved in with my BF. I've been working on it since early this year when I 1st considered WLS. It's tough. I still can't beat it. As for post-op...well I just don't know. I plan to stick to a strict time schedule for eating & keep as well hydrated as possible. Right now, I find that if I have some hot tea (usually steeped almond chai blend) w/a little sweetness (SF vanilla creamer or *maybe* honey) before bed, it doesn't bother me as much at night (my stomach/eating). Another thing I've recently started doing is chomping rolaids/tums when the urge hits at night. I don't have reflux, but it seems to satiate the night munchies anyway... 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com

  21. I hear ya about "nervous"!! Haha 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
  22. If I can chime in...idk if there is research or real evidence if this or not, but...whenever I've done a diet before, my body always fights me the 1st month or two (or 3....lol) but if I stay consistent, after the 2-3 month hump, the weight really starts moving. My sister also was over 400lb when she had her RNY & the 1st month lost 8#, by 2nd month, only 25# down....now she's 3 years out & 240# lighter. (& had a baby in the middle!) I'm sure that could be the issue with your client too....take heart. You'll know exactly what to do... :} 347*294/284/135 (*347HW/294SSW) | @Mwrarr | mwrarr.wordpress.com
