    Protien

I add one tbs of Skippys Natural Dark chocolate Peanut Butter spread to my chocolate Protein shake in the morning. I was struggling maintaining my 65 lb journey, eating low fat yogurt everyday. After switching to this for Breakfast, with no other change in my diet, I have lost 7 more lbs. I am not able to eat much protein because of restriction..... I exercise and love yoga. I'm a much happier person today thanks to my lapband. I'm not obese now, but just a normal person that can sit in normal chairs and enjoy being a very active grandmother! I was banded Sept 2010 and I love it! Only regret is that I didn't do it ten years earlier.....

    low blood pressure

Yes...I was taking blood pressure meds for years before being banded, now after losing 70 lbs and exercising my blood pressure is 90/60. I feel great and have crazy energy!

    fifties and pre-op surgery support

I'm so glad your surgery went well. I guess it liquids for a couple weeks now but that passes so fast My blood pressure had been elevated because of my alcohol abuse and weight. I had stopped drinking a year before my surgery and combined with the weight loss, my doctor stopped me from taking them right before my surgery date. Now it remains normal and I am blessed it does. Take it easy and start digging out your smaller clothes, you will need them before you know it. Terri

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I have been exercising before my lapband and contirbute my loose skin to genetics and menopause. At least I have muscles under my not so tight skin and exercise is not only good for the body, but mind too. I could not imagine not having that form of stress relief. Take care and good luck on your journey!

    fifties and pre-op surgery support

Best of luck on your surgery. I had my surgery two years ago and and have never regretted it. The amazing part of my journey is my how I feel about food and eating now. Before I totally loved eating and the comfort I received from it. Now, eating is not a joy anymore, because it can be very uncomfortable with my band restrictions. Now I eat because I have to, not just for the joy of it. To be a " normal" size and healthy is worth it. I am off of bp meds and 70 lbs less. I love it!!!
