  1. Hi, 11/29 and I lost 13 in the first 10 days post op but don't think I have lost anything since. I see many who have lost more than me who had theirs after me but I can't focus on that because I am doing exactly what I was told to do by my surgeon. My first fill isn't scheduled til January 9th.
  2. There is no way this thing can be too tight. I haven't had a fill yet and I am hungry every 2 hours. If it gets worse after a fill then I think I'm screwed..
  3. I am looking to pin some delicious, healthy recipes to my Pinterest. Can anyone recommend any good websites?
  4. 2 Gummy Vites and 2 Tums per day for calcium. Both were recommended by m y nutritionist.
  5. Weird cause I have had the runny nose thing, too. It is just so daunting cause this is happening and I am still hungry. And it isn't head hunger it's definitely stomach hunger. :-(
  6. Why am I doing this? I don't even feel close to full but almost every time I take a breath, I cough. I didn't eat fast either. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op.
  7. First, I am saying a prayer for you. That is a lot to have to deal with, especially since you need to take care of yourself. Greek yogurt has a lot of protein. Get the fat free kind and it usually 14 or 15 grams of protein. I buy Chobani. Buy yourself a few Rubbermaid containers and fill them at night so you can just grab and go the next day. I made homemade sauce this week and I took 1/4 cup of it and mixed it with 1/2 cup part skim ricotta. It was dee-lish. And it had a fair amount of protein. 1/2 cup of egg substitutes has a lot of protein. You can microwave them to make "scrambled eggs." Good luck to you. If you can get through everything with your hubby and your dad then you can get through anything. Just remember to take care of yourself first or you won't be able to take care of them.
  8. I think once you start eating more solid food regularly it will get better. My doctor told me to take something called Miralax and I think I will start later today cause it has been a few days.....
  9. Same thing with me when I first started going, too. So, it sounds pretty normal. :-)
  10. I am eating well, too, but pooping twice a week. It is awful. Going to start taking Miralax today as per doctor's instructions. I am tracking everything on my fitness pal and only got 4 grams of fiber yesterday and should be getting 25. It is very difficult to do so with a high Protein diet.
  11. Glad you're ok. Hope the Metamucil works SOON!! Good luck. :-)
  12. So sorry. I didn't know you were still dealing with this today. Is it worse than yesterday? Have you tried massage? Maybe that would move it around? :-(
  13. Aewsome, Donna!! Great job!!! I bet that will make you recover from GS even quicker!
  14. I think you mean a colonic, not a colonoscopy. You really should speak to your doctor. I am not here to preach but I had a colonic about 15 years ago and it is one of my big regrets. Long sorry short, I had no control of my bowels, AT ALL, for 4 or 5 days. Not even a warning! I did it because it was trendy at the time and one of my coworkers thought it would be a good idea. I took a lot of grief from my regular doctor and then the gastroenterologist that he referred me to. This can be very dangerous and you don't want to open yourself up to any infection. Please call your doctor tomorrow and have him recommend something for you. Good luck and please let me know what you decide.
  15. I have a pretty strong stomach and had a hard enough time taking off my steri strips, lol. I would let a doctor or nurse do it for you. This way you can at least try to relax. Or even lose your eyes.
  16. You need to consult with a nutritionist. Although eating apples, oranges, and grapes are a good snack alternative to Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Dorito's, they are loaded with carbs and sugar and only traces of Protein. Even the nutritionist I go to wants me to limit my fruit. One more thing, they don't exactly fill you up. Regardless of whether you are having or have had surgery, you want to eat something that will satisfy you for hours at a time. Good luck to you!
  17. I was banded on the 29th, too. I lost 13 since surgery. All of my jeans are too big and I am down to 1 pair that I can wear but with a belt. I haven't worn one of those in years. My 3X shirts are all too big and I think I look frumpier now than I did before, lol! My underwear looks ridiculous! However, I am going to wait til after the holidays to buy myself anything new. I may look silly but it just feels soooooooooooooooooo good to not wear clothes that cut off my circulation, lol!!
  18. Thank you. I didn't even know there was such a thing.
  19. I will try all tips after my shower later. Trying to get as much cleaning done as possible today. It's just kind of funny because my incisions really don't look bad at all, surprisingly. It is the glue that makes it look nasty.
