  1. Hope you are feeling better tonight. I texted you earlier. You have already gone through the worst of the pain. Call me or text me if you need anything. (((((Hugs)))))
  2. I know everyone is different but the nutritionist I have been working with (who is pretty strict about what I should and should not eat) did recommend that when you are post surgery and relying only on food (as opposed to Protein shakes) that you should be at a minimum of 1,000 calories and no more than 1,500 to lose weight. She felt that if I stayed between those numbers I would lose gradually. I am not at that point yet as I am just beginning soft foods and having a shake each day, but I am hoping it some point that will work for me.
  3. Lol! I think even mice pass over fat free cheese!
  4. Inbox me and let me know in case I don't check the boards later. Getting excited for you!
  5. Yeah, mine is stinging a bit just from him taking off the streri strips. Luckily he did not press on mine. I am actually chewing eggs, lol. I think I used to swallow them whole before.
  6. 1/2 c egg substitute, 2 oz. ham chopped fine, 1 pineapple ring chopped and a Laughing cow Light Swiss wedge. I the recipe is probably on line. Hungry Girl did the recipe. I love it!
  7. I am on cloud 9 at the moment. I lost 13 pounds since my surgery so I am now down 43 pounds! I can now have soft foods so as soon as I got home I made a Hula Scramble (Hungry Girl) and it was DEE LISH!! I can now exercise as tolerated. It will be a while before I attempt anything abdominal because it is pretty sore still at the port site. But yay, I can start toning up my floppy arms!!
  8. Hi, just wondering what kind of mushies you are having and what you may have tried and liked or disliked.
  9. Please add me, JerseyShoreDisneyDiva. Thanks!
  10. I have only been on yogurt for 3 days. Still doing the nasty. (Protein shakes)
  11. But I didn't see any seeds cause it was the blended kind. There were no fruit pieces to be seen. What happens if you have seeds? Why are they so bad for us?
  12. I had a fat free strawberry yogurt yesterday and a raspberry fat free one the day before. I am in a panic cause I just saw someone post you can't have berries. I don't recall my nutritionist or surgeon ever mentioning it to me. Did I screw up royally? I am 11 days post op and was instructed I could have yogurt. Please help!
  13. My mom, husband, and daughter knew beforehand. I sent out an email to the rest of my CLOSE friends, dad, and sister at midnight the night before surgery because I knew that by the time they read it, I would already be at the hospital. In essence, I told them I didn't tell them because it was a very personal decision and I didn't want anyone to try to influence my choice. I put other stuff in it and just asked them that whether or not they supported my decision, to please support me as a person and to please pray for my surgery to go well. I have to say, surprisingly, EVERY ONE of them stood by me. One person did say she was surprised I went to such drastic measures, but she loved me and knows I have struggled with my weight in the 20 years we have known each other. One more note...my husband was not a fan of this when I first decided back in June to meet with a surgeon, and was not even thrilled over the 5 months leading up to my surgery. He never even went to any of my monthly appointments with my surgeon. However, he took me to the hospital, brought me home, and has been one of my biggest supporters since!
  14. I had my surgery a week ago today. I called the dr before and told them I was very hungry and that I had only had protein shakes, soup, and water for the past week. I was told I could now have eggs and yogurt. I have the Shop Rite fat free at home so that is what I had. Only 6 g of protein but I was just nice having something thicker for a change. It was raspberry flavored but it comes already blended so there are no fruit pieces at all. Can't wait to have some Egg Beaters!!
  15. I can't wait to get to mashies cause I could just hurl THINKING about Protein shakes. I am curious, though. Are you really allowed to have that much cheese so soon? I love cheese (a lot) but you had 5 servings of it (not including what was in the soup) and I would just be concerned I would get really constipated. And gassy. But maybe that's just how my body reacts to them. Btw, I LOVE Laughing Cow wedges in my egg substitutes. I am a huge fan of Hungry Girl recipes.
  16. This is really embarrassing for me to say this but here it goes.........do you know those awful cramps that you get right before you have explosive diarrhea? It makes you break into a sweat and your entire body shudders and you know if you don't get to the bathroom right that second that you are going to sh** yourself? Well, that is what I have dealt with the last 2 days. BUT nothing comes out. I don't want to take anything (for constipation) for fear I will explode all over. Before this started to happen, I did poop once and it was just liquid. I hate feeling like this. I am afraid to leave the house tomorrow.
  17. I am having issues with depression, too. This reminds me very much of having postpartum depression. I am ok one minute, then i nearly collapse in a puddle of tears. And when I used to have depression, I would grab food to feel better. We can't do that now. I know this will pass but this is the hard part. We will get though this. I had mine a day before you so trust me, I know how you feel. Keep in touch. Let's lean on each other. We will overcome!
  18. They gave me Percosets, too. They did nothing for pain. When did you finally have your surgery? I know you got delayed last week.
  19. We go to WDW (Florida) every year but this year we skipped and now I am having withdrawals. Btw, the last time I went to Starbucks (a few weeks ago) I think I had a pumpkin muffin.
