Courtney ..all doctors are different. Did your not give you any specific instructions? My Dr. has his patients do 3 days of liquids (full liquids: anything that will go through a straw) . I did eat right away after my 2nd fill becasue my doctor wanted me to eat to make sure before I left TJ that I was not filled too tight & once I was OK and not too tight he told me to now do 3 days of liquids. Maybe give your doctor a call and ask to be on the safe side..It cant hurt to call
  2. Penni you have done an awesome job & with all that you have been through the last month or so Betty is probalby right on when she says stress can cause this. Don't fret..the scale will start moving again soon. have you noticed a fifference with your 2nd fill? Could it be you are not eating enough calories. I know for me if I do not have 1200-1500 I will no lose. Anything under 1000 a day and I'm stuck. Just a thought? Hang in there~ You're doing great 44 or 46 lbs in 6 months is fantastic if you average it out it is 7-8 lbs a month. You are right on target.
  3. Hey Lisa I see that you have lost 5 lbs since last month great job!!! You must be very proud of yourself.
  4. Hi Welcome This is a great site full of info..these people are like family..lots of support. So much love here.. I had my surgery with Dr. Ortiz and could not be happier. Dr. Ortiz is a very qualified and experienced surgeon in placing the band. Ortiz came highly recommended to me by 2 surgeons here in California , since I was a self pay they both knew I could not afford the price here in CA so they both recomended Ortiz..I researched him for about 3-4 months getting as much info as I could on him. Contacting several of his patients from various support boards. His entire staff is very helpful and caring and will take care of your every need. I felt very confident I was making the right choice with him and I was so right! If I can answer any questions for you about him or his facility or anything feel free to email me or send me a private message Best of Luck to you
  5. Oh Cindy I'm sorry to hear of your latest troubles Like Penni said..do come back and let us know how you are doing. I wish you all the best with the bypass. Best Wishes to you
  6. I did not have a pre op diet..I ate Carnitas like it was my last meal the night before my surgery and everythingth me turned out fine. Dont worry..things will go great and you will be just fine Good Luck Tomorrow~
  7. Darcy..atealst you spoke to a doctor today and you got the ball rollin' I sure hope everything turns out ok for you. Could it be gallbladder related and maybe not band related? I know you will keep us posted. You wont keep anything from us ever again right? I get sharp pains all the time on my left side like a side ached when you run too hard..sometimes it is unbearable but usually turns out to be trapped gas. Hang in there Darcy..we are hoping and praying everything will be OK (((hugs)))
  8. Hi Veronica How are you doing? Getting excited about your fill? Hopefully the 2nd fill will make a big difference for you. I know it did for me. Just dont get filled to tight since you live out of state. I would hate for you to have problems once you get home and have to come back for an unfill. Remember sometimes a fil lcan take a week or 2 to kick in. Don't be alarmed if you do not feel immediate restriction. Good Luck to you, let me know how it goes and you can call me anytime
  9. Shelly you look so beautiful and so happy. Glad to see you are all seeing someone after all you went through with your ex. He is a cutie too
  10. Hi Katie..sorry to hear of your fall but happy to hear you are OK If it was me who took that fall 2 weeks post op. I would if anything call my surgeon to let him know what happened. I know the healing stage is important for things to set into place. It will put your mind at ease. I'm 6 months post op and am always thinking my band has slipped or my port has flipped without having a fall. I think that is normal. Maybe call your Dr. and see what he thinks. It can't hurt to call right? Good Luck ~
  11. I smoke..I told them I smoked and they knew it pre op..still smoke and have had no problems Like ShellyJ I plan on quitting once I get to goal which is another 42 lbs
  12. You bought another bike? I must of missed this post for the last week. You are one crazy chick! Love the bike..Love the colors.
  13. Maybe you are not eating enough? Lots of people with the band still have the diet mentality..that if you barely eat you will lose weight. Not true..you still need atleast 1200-1500 calories a day . Are you eating atleast 1200-1500 a day? For me anything under 1000 calories a day I will not lose.
  14. Hi Greg Welcome to the challenge..this challenge really helps me to not obsess with the scale. It really does work too . Since this challenge has started at the end of July I have lost 21lbs. Hope it helps you to stay off the scale too! You have done awesome in your journey thus far Congrats! Darcy--Great Job on your weight loss thos week Hope you are feeling better today and have a great week. Betty - thanks for the Kudos

However I'm sorry your having discomfort but happy you are going to cal lyour doctor and go see him. You are doing the right thing as hard as it may be. Good Luck & hang in there...keeping you in my thoughts
  18. Soup is a liquid which the band can not restrict, Soup is wasted calories that pass right thorugh the band. Those were the words from my nutritionalist through my surgeons office.
  19. Nice Pics Vera..Can't wait to meet you in person. You are beautiful!
  20. Great Post! Congratulations on your success to date. We are practically neighbors. I live in Mission Viejo Keep it up! Love your attitude!
  21. Lisa I put a box in the mail today for the clothing exchange. It should arrive Wednesday!
  22. WOW! This is horrible. Thanks for posting this Penni and making us all aware. I feel sad for those who thought the were getting an Inamed band. Being decieved by your doctor is just plain wrong! Is there anything these people can do for any kind of recourse?

60 lbs since August 10th? WOW!!! Great Job!
  24. Katie I do not know what grocery stores you have in your area..but Albertsons & Stater Bros. have made their own brand of flavored water it is very similiar to crystal light has no calories, no sugar and it comes in a big 1/2 liter bottle. Flavors like cherry limeade..strawberry kiwi, lemonade, peach citrus..I drink these often too when I need a change of tast from water.
  25. What a great birthday present to yourself. Hope it all goes smoothly for you I had the same fears when I went for my first & second fill. I was so nervous that my band slipped or my port flipped but everything was just how it was supposed to be. Yours will be the same I'm sure. Don't worry Good Luck!
