  1. I also have tricare, they approved my band on the first submission and my bmi was exactly 40. I don't believe they approve plication or a sleeve. If your Bmi is less than 40, tricare requires a co morbidity

  3. I also gained when going to mushies... I was banded 11/12 and down 30 pounds, well now 28 bc I gained 2 and have stayed at that the last week! It has been a little discouraging and makes me wonder if I will continue to gain till my fill on Dec 10th, I'm not like starving but def more hungry
  4. Thanks everyone, I will def add all if you! You can adjust the cals under your edit profile tab
  5. Does anyone know if the carb, protein, and fat goals can be adjusted? I did change the cals but the fat and carbs are set way too high!
  6. Update on my belly button.. went to the doc and its infected starting antibiotics today though so hopefully it clears it up fast! Thanks for all the advice everyone!
  7. Hi there, banded 11/12 and down 30 pounds from pre op. I have done exactly what I am supposed to do, following the rules to a tee! But my concern is, how do I continue to lose when I switch from mushies to regular food? Might seem silly but I feel like that will be more food which will cause Me to gain. At this point, I still only eat about a quarter cup of food and have been walking... When I move to a cup, will I gain?
  8. Hey everyone, I was banded on Nov 12th... Had my first check up on this last Tues and the nurse removed my steri strips and said my incisions look great! But starting yesterday, I noticed my belly button is kind of smelly and oozy, I have been cleaning it with peroxide but still its gross. Anyone have this problem? I'm going to call the doc office for sure Monday ( they are closed Friday) if its still yucky.
  9. Thanks everyone! I will continue to sip for now
  10. Hi there, one week post op and down 26 pounds since my first appt two months ago! Just a quick question... Am I always going to have to sip my drinks? Sometimes I'm so thirsty and its hard to only sip! Also, how on earth do you fit so much water into one day? If you aren't supposed to drink an hour before you eat and an hour after then how do you get it all in with only sips?
  11. I totally understand where you are all coming from, I was banded on 11/12 and will be on pureed food still for thanksgiving... But to be honest, I'm not that worried about it, there are quite a few things that I will be able to eat still like mashed potatoes or cranberry sauce! Just hang in there everyone, its all going to be worth it! Im already 24 pounds down since my first appt on Sep 19th and I just keep on moving forward!
  12. I was also banded Monday and totally agree... Small walks, pillows, and sleeping propped up has helped a lot! I have had horrible gas pain in my shoulder and using gas x strips does help some, I'm looking forward to feeling normal again, its hard with a 10 month old but thank god for my very helpful Hubby! Two things I am struggling with are what to eat and what protein/vitamins to start incorporating, suggestions welcome!
  13. I guess that sounds silly about the re heating thing! Of course I have a microwave or I could just keep it on the burner... I guess its something I will have to get used to, its such an adjustment to have a restriction now, I need to practice!
  14. I was on clear liquids for 24 hours and now puree for two weeks, nothing thicker than applesauce. After two wks, then soft solids for two wks and can start normal solids after about four wks out. My struggle is the amount though, my discharge papers say 1oz of pureed food every 20 minutes when awake... It's hard to make soup, then eat one bite and wait 20 min to re heat it again.. I guess that's where I'm kinda stuck on what to do! Thanks for the advice
  15. So I had some bleeding from my belly button incision yesterday... I think I over did it by walking around the grocery store with my husband yesterday. I was already pretty sore and should have known better, its just hard to accept that I need to take it easy, I have a ten month old and lots of stuff that needs to get done... I think I learned my lesson though time to relax today. My biggest struggle is trying to eat, anything! I'm just not really hungry so I'm trying to eat bites of applesauce throughout the day. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Also, can someone suggest a good protein supplement to start incorporatating in my diet? In addition, what vitamins are you taking? I just want to do everything perfect to lose the max amount that I can! Thanks in advance!
  16. I'm now officially post op, yay! Surgery went well, just very sore especially the gas pain in my shoulder. Moving around and gas x strips def help! I'm totally looking forward to a mushy diet starting tomorrow, a week of liquids pre op was exhausting but it made me lose ten pounds! I want to do everything exactly right so I lose the maximum weight that I can, I would love any advice anyone can offer?! Thanks!
  17. so excited, surgery is scheduled nov 12 and I can't wait! I start my one week pre op liquid diet in two days which is a tad daunting but I know it will be worth it! Good luck to other November banders!
  18. Hey there! I'm also a newbie and awaiting surgery, praying that insurance accepts it! Fingers crossed! I have the same concern about the skin... I'm 26 and really not wanting saggy skin after all of this, I'm hoping being young and working out will help keep things good!
  19. Im super anxious about this insurance stuff! My BMI is right at 40... I'm hoping it's good enough to get the approval. I feel like I have exhausted all other weight loss ideas and tries. I really need some sort of permanent restriction! I love seeing all of the success stories, it makes me realize it's possible! I'm starting out at 242 and hope to one day reach 145!
