  1. Yeah I'm still hungry. I just try to keep myself distracted by doing things and drink ALOT of water.
  2. I went to the movie last night and did not have any snacks...only water and 5 tic tacs...woo hoo!
  3. Anyone know the best way to use this website? I can't seem to make heads or tails of who is who, how to follow friends. I tried making a group but have had no success. Do you just communicate using noticifications and private messages? I'm so confused lately Any ideas would be appreciated.
  4. I'm not telling my boss either. It's none of his business.
  5. I can do three and then I'm done...I've switched to hot tea and chicken broth for my last 'meal' of the day then I go to bed early lol
  6. I've had a difficult time getting this started but think the only way to add a post is to go to 'Add News' under the 'Group Navigation'. If you know of any easier way, please share
  7. I created this group so that we all will have support going through this journey at the same time!
  8. So glad it went well for you!
  9. Ok. Are you doing a liquid diet before your surgery? I'm at day three of mine and it's tough!
  10. Day 2 & 3 were easier during the day but I still had soup and crackers for dinner. I don't know what it is about 6pm but the thought of having another protein shake disgusts me at that hour. I don't eat anything after dinner...maybe just have some tea. So I'll try again tomorrow I just went grocery shopping and got all kinds of things to make all sorts of recipes I've found online. If there's anything that's really good, I'll let you know!!!
  11. 3 weeks. I'm not sure why...maybe because I have so much weight to lose? Thanks! I'll keep you posted
  12. They will probably check blood pressure and pulse and check your oxygen intake and then have you do a breathing test where you suck in as much air as possible and then blow it out as hard and as fast as you can. You'll do that a couple of different times and they'll record the readings. And they will ask you a lot of questions about your breathing to see if your asmatic. Oh, and they'll probably weigh you, too. I used to go often when I was having asthma issues, but now I only go once a year for my sleep apnea.
  13. I'm getting banded on Jan. 17. I'm going to take a picture in the same spot everyday until I reach my goal weight!
  14. I'm getting banded Jan. 17 and am so excited about it that I can't imagine regretting it. I know the weight will come off and I have to work hard for it, but I'm not focused on the scale. I want to fit in a seat at the movies, walk up stairs without losing my breath, walk downstairs without my knees hurting, shop for clothes in a fashionable store, go hiking in the mountains...the list is endless. I gave birth seven years ago. I don't believe this can be any harder than that.
  15. I'm getting banded on Jan. 17. And I'm doing it for me and my 7 year old son. I want to be around for a long time and enjoy life.
  16. Good luck Daron. I'm Jan. 17. Keep in touch!
  17. I'm Jan 17. Good luck & keep in touch!
  18. good luck to you both! I'm getting banded Jan. 17. If you find any yummy recipes, let us know!
  19. I've told a my immediate family and a few close friends but am stopping there because I know I'll still have to do the work and make the right food choices. As I've read on here and been told by my doc, the band is not a cure, it's a tool. I'll still have to count calories, etc. So now that I'm on the liquid diet, those who don't know me too personally are just getting the story that I'm trying to lose weight and then the days I'm off from work for surgery, I'll just tell them my son or my mom was sick and then when I start losing weight I'm going to tell them how I'm counting calories and exercising. Most people just want something to gossip about - and it's not going to be me
  20. Good luck! I'm scheduled for Jan. 17. Today was the first day of my liquid diet and it was easy until dinner when I caved and had chicken noodle soup and crackers which I don't think is bad considering my old habits. Tommorrow is another day!
  21. Good luck! I'm scheduled for Jan. 17
  22. Jan. 17 is my surgery date. Today was my first day of a 3-week liquid diet. I did ok until dinner...had chicken noodle soup with some crackers. Considering that is my first day without fast food in months is progress! Then I wanted to snack in the evenings like I usually do, but instead brushed my teeth and got online to read posts. One step/day at a time. I appreciate everyone sharing the good and bad so I know I'm not alone in this journey.
  23. I can't wait to fit in a seat at a movie or on an airplace....bring on the NSVs!
  24. I think it means non-scale victory, but I'm not sure. Anyone else know?
  25. Sweetie, I have no idea about average BMI. I've added you all as friends
