I went for my three month follow up today I was banded on 10/3 and I am now down 45 lbs. keep up the good work girl we are well on our way..
  5. Hello everyone, I'm basically writing so that I can get back on track with my Lapland progress...I was banded on 10/3 so just about 2 months ago and I was so focused at one point but then Hurricane Sandy came and ruined that for me. I had a rough month of November with out power, so that made it hard to stay on track with food but I'm still progressing so far I have lost 35 pounds. Just wondering how everyone else is doing! I need to be connected again..help me get back on track..ya know focused again...thanks guys!

    Not Losing

that's normal...your weight will be up and down for the first month of surgery...stay away from the scalee atleast for the first month if not you will drive yourself crazy...let your body heal and the weight will drop from there..
  8. Cheer up Girl!!!! You were courageous enough to admit that to all of us here on LBT, so i'm sure next time you're in a similar situation you will be courageous enough to say NO to the bad foods...don't go beating yourself up no one is perfect...now get back on track we are all routing for you here !!!!!
  9. If anyone is in the mushy phase like me...can you give me some examples of what you're eating I'm getting boredddd!!!!

That's what is so funny about this banding process foods we probably never thought twice about are like so amazing to us!!! I say this as I eat my creamy spinach hahaha!
  11. Hello everyone I am 9 days post op, and i just started my "mushy" phase, but I am afraid I am not getting enough protein..I simply can not tolerate the tase of protein shakes...I just got a new one in the mail this morning that i ordered from GNC, It's called VPX zero carb vanilla, so we'll see how that one taste, if not i'll return it...my question is....how is everyone mixing their protein shakes?? with water, milk ice? I need some tips on how to tolerate a protein shake..i know it sounds crazy but one serving of this protein shake is like 20g of protein I need that!!!! help me!!!!! haha
  12. I was just in your shoes last week the night before I went in to surgery not knowing what to expect. You have nothing to be nervous about I'm sure you will be fine..You need to get excited about your new life journey..put all your stresses behind you this is your beginning to happiness and health. When I woke up from the surgery I had a great experience my nurse never left my side..I of course felt groggy but thats normal...my throat was very sore from that tube they put down your throat during surgery..but trust me everything will be fine..within 30 minutes of surgery I was walking around the room (slowly of course) and taking sips of Water. I was out of surgery at 9:45 am and I was home relaxing by 12..You will do fine the most important thing you have to do is WALK once you get home...I am now 6 days post op and I have not experienced any gas pain because I am constantly walking and doing shoulder curls. I stopped taking the pain medication on day 4. However, I have not been able to sleep in my bed yet I just can not find a comfortable spot so I am still sleeping in a recliner. Good Luck tomorrow!!!! Please keep us posted on your surgery !!!!!

    Update Update!!!

My doctor used glue too..I thought the little bandages he put over them were called steri strips? I may be wrong whoops!!! And no gas pain because when I walk i do some arm stretches. I do have discomfort almost a week later I still can't sleep in my bed I'm still sleeping in a recliner...boo!

    Update Update!!!

Like you my BMI wasn't that high so my doctor didn't make me do a pre-op diet i was just told not to eat before 12am the night before surgery. The only complication I had after surgery was a had a terrible sore throat for about 3 days. I haven't experience any gas pains (yet crossing my fingers), but I do have GasX on hand should I experience it. I do sometimes feel hungry as well because just like you I cook for my family, at first it bothered me a little bit because everything smelled soooo good and I do not like Jell-o and i hate chicken broth so I feel like I have nothing satisfying. I definitely would try to stay away from the coffee if I were you because that is definitely what's making you hungry.! I went to my first doctors appt yesterday to remove my steri strips and in 5 days I am down 12lbs so I'm definitely happy with that. Good Luck to you..and feel free to stay in touch so we can discuss our journey together.
