Had surgery 2/11/13 starting wt: 353 now 290 for the last 2 weeks!! Have not done any measurements since surgery. I had the biggest surprise today when I went shopping for a wedding dress and fit into a size 24!!! I have been overweight ALL my life. I haven't seen a size 24 in years. But I will admit I was scared to go and try on dresses for that moment of fear was there of the dreaded " we don't have your size". Famous words of the skinny sales girl!!

I uploaded a fairly decent pair of photos that show the 10 week results so far.
Disregard what it says about images not found. I'm pretty sure if you click, they're there.
[Edit: And when I look at these, I can understand, and perhaps forgive people for commenting all the time. It really is amazing. AND crazy to think there were people who told me I didn't need the surgery, that I looked just fine before]

monken reacted to Tiggy in Band to RNY..first steps
After ascertaining that I did indeed wake up from surgery, the first and next 30 questions out of my mouth were "were they able to complete it?" Thank goodness the answer was a consistent yes! Loving my RNY so far. No problems with my band, but no successes either after the initial weight loss (which I subsequently regained and then some.) Just never had enough restriction, except when inflamed by being sick...

Right with you all. I will be 8 weeks post surgery Thursday. Weight at beginning was 291. Now 247. I have gotten nice compliments from a few folks. I am doing better at saying "thank you".
I don't feel like I look different.
But last night I had a mental victory. My aunt passed away after a long illness last week and the funeral is tomorrow. I have not seen my cousins since my grandmothers funeral 10 years. I weighed about 270 then.
I was trying on clothes last night and nothing fit! So I bought a dress from kohls in 2x. It looks nice and is not tight.
My daughter who weighs 240 but has tight skin, left me some jeans and skirts in size 20. Omg! They fit! Tight like the 24s fit before surgery.
It was eye opening. I do look different and I like it more than I thought. I never want to go back to seam busting size 24.
So, here's what I think. Be kind to yourself. Your body is not failing you.
I have never felt more full of energy-even though I am only sleeping 6 hours and eat 600-700 calories. I am not plagued with Migraines. I feel like I did when I was in college nearly 40 years ago.
