  1. It must be frustrating for you to watch your friend sabotage herself all the time.:smile2:
  2. Your friend should have the band removed. That's ridiculous!:smile2:
  3. Do you think there was a concerted effort to keep it quiet? This is the first I've heard of it and that suprises me. I'd think this was major news.
  4. Lobbyists would never allow a flat tax rate across the board to pass.
  5. Did Starr have lap band or bypass? It seems many bypass patients gain some of their weight back.
  6. BJ, George Bush is not the canidate. Like McCain said, if Obama wanted to run against Bush, he should have ran 4 years ago. The only candidate in this race who ran against Bush was McCain. Makes you go hmmmmmmm
  7. That would be completely disastrous for our country! I can't even begin to allow myself to speculate on what something like that would do to race relations. I believe it would bring out hatred and violence across the board. To some extent, that's a SMALL reason why I don't want Obama to win. I'm afraid if something happens to him, the country will erupt into a race war.
  8. BJ and Missy, you do realize that someone else probably wrote the punch lines for both McCain and Obama? If you liked or disliked their humor, blame their handlers.
  9. Kamica, that's the key word.. you would have given up by now without the band. This is not a diet, this is a lifetime commitment so there is no giving up and eventually we will win.
  10. I think we can all agree that politicians are not the most trustworthy people, regardless of their party affiliation. The reason I support Republicans is because I want smaller government and that is the party that purportedly supports smaller government. Granted in the last 8 years, government has grown, but that wasn't solely because we had a Republican president; we had a Democratic Congress who let us down as well.
  11. BJean, the current problems are not the sole fault of the Republicans or the Democrats. It's a combination of bad policies, bad decisions and greedy people (both big and small) dating back to Clinton's administration. Just as throwing more money at the public school system hasn't improved the quality of education, adding additional tax burdens isn't the answer.
  12. I didn't really get much restriction until my 4th fill this past Tuesday. 40 lbs in 14 weeks is phenomenal. That's way ahead of the curve.
  13. I didn't realize Obama was the 2nd coming. Is he really going to solve all those problems? Wow If I vote for him and he doesn't solve all our problems, will you guarantee me that you will lead the movement to have him impeached for misrepresentation?
  14. That test sounds highly suspect! Are you sure you went to a real doctor? Maybe he was someone that escaped from the pysche ward by disguising himself as a doctor? LOL
  15. Fair is subjective depending on which side of the line you stand. I love my greenhouse which is full of great organic herbs that I can enjoy year round. I share them with my friends and co-workers and it gives me great pleasure to do so. However, if my neighbor decided that since I had more than I could reasonably consume, it would be OK for her to come and take a pinch here and there, I'd be very upset. It's my greenhouse; my husband built it with his own bare hands; I planted the herbs and I lovingly look after them to ensure they continue to yield good crops. Why is it fair for my neighbor to come get a pinch of it because I have more than I need and she doesn't have enough? Why should my labor benefit her? That's called unjust enrichment brought to you courtesy of socialism.
  16. Do you enjoy paying more for clothes because you are overweight? How about a 3% increase in the cost of groceries for those who are overweight? Before the checkout girl completes the transaction, you are required to step on a scale and if you are over your recommended BMI, then you are automatically assessed a 3% increase (call it a fat tax). Does that sound fair?
  17. :smile::w00t::frown::w00t::cool2::w00t: Congrats Froggi!
  18. Laura, you gotta quit torturing yourself and us too! Every time I see this post, it reminds me my money is disappearing.
  19. This is the problem with democracy... the majority rules. It doesn't matter whether the majority is right, as long as they are the majority and they can pull a lever.
  20. hfalola, congratulations! Another MAJOR milestone is the fact that you are no longer morbidly obese! WTG!!!!
  21. PJTP: I wonder what the OP thinks of this thread now?
  22. Lying to your doctors and their support staff isn't going to be helpful. Omission is the same as lying when disclosure could change the outcome. I don't mean to sound harsh but if you are already planning on "slipping and eating something you shouldn't" then it sounds like you are planning to fail. PLAN on doing the right thing, the right way. Will you be perfect? Are any of us perfect? You might take a misstep as all of us do from time to time but not all of us plan to take a misstep and cover up.
  23. Say it ain't so, Manatee! At least post to update pictures.
  24. Update: I got my 4th fill on Tuesday (.5 cc), didn't feel it until Wednesday evening and then I was so tight I couldn't even eat soup. I did have a very stressful commute home (flooding all over and it took me 4 hours to get home). Anyway, Thursday afternoon the band loosened up and I had soup for lunch and by dinnertime was able to have chicken. I think it's going to take a couple of weeks to really figure out if this is the right amount or if I will need another adjustment.
  25. They're so cute! What breed are they?
