  1. Happy Bandiversary Luluc! Any words of wisdom, reflections over the past year, how you felt when you first started vs. how you feel now and looking back?
  2. Wow Kel! Congrats on the weight loss. Do you have any before/after pics? I find those so inspirational.
  3. I'm a skeptic so you have to take my response with a grain of salt... Anyway, I doubt skin brushing is going to help with loose skin as a result of massive weight loss. However, it sounds like it's a good skin exfoliating regimen.
  4. Snowflake, can you explain skin brushing?
  5. LFM, the question is do you still have confidence and trust in your doctor after this incident?
  6. Steph, I know exactly how you feel. The last birthday party my son had was his 11th because only 2 people showed. He has ADHD and a mild case of Asperger's. He is now 15 and he's doing much better but he's still far from being a social butterfly. There is no pain greater than seeing one's child in pain.
  7. You know, when I was 25, I'd rather plug my ears with cotton than listen to country. After you hit 35, you become more open to new things. I know, sounds counter to popular belief that people become more fixed in their ways as they age, but I find that not to be the case for me and most of the people from my generation (X generation).
  8. I back Kacee's endorsement of Dr. Spivak. Congrats Kacee on reaching your goal.
  9. Do you remember when Dubya made the "hook'em" sign and Europe thought he was making the sign of the devil? LOL
  10. I don't listen to very much country but there are some very romantic country ballads that when in the right mood will melt a girl's heart and make her putty in a man's hands.
  11. I think it's especially true for men that if a woman turns them on, whatever part engages their lust also turns off their moral button. I know I'm generalizing and there are PLENTY of men out there who overcome temporary bouts of lust to stay faithful to their SO, so please send your letters to the Tonight Show instead! LOL
  12. My husband and I have been married for 9 years and neither of us have cheated. I think both of us came close a time or two but stopped before it went too far. I wonder, is it in human nature to be monogomous or are we designed to be polygomous thereby requiring us to fight our nature to stay faithful?
  13. Totally in the mood now.
  14. WYD, better watch it... BBK's DH may get the wrong idea.
  15. My son absolutely doted on his baby sister until she hit about 2 and he's been going out of his way ever since to make her life miserable. Now that he's 15 and she's 8, they get along a bit better. I'm sure your son's going to adore his baby sister/brother. He's way too old now to feel any sibling rivalry.
  16. Max, you've lost 50 lbs. That's great! I don't know how to break plateaus but I do know about self-sabotage so don't go there. Just because you take one bad step doesen't mean you now have to plummet all the way to the bottom. Just shake it off, focus on the goal.
  17. Boos, that's outrageous! I was self-pay, $12,900 including 1 full year of follow-up and unlimited fills/unfills. I have heard that there are a number of fill doctors and fill centers in the Houston metro area that charge between $150 to $350 for a fill depending on whether they use Fluoro.
  18. Kintime, you are postively sizzlin'!
  19. AntiqueJunkie, have you been banded yet? Did you end up using Dr. Spivak?
  20. Cheri, if you go to Ask Dr. Schulman thread, you will see his response to the skin issue.
  21. awwwwwwwwwwww :smile2: That's so wonderful. Thank you for sharing such a poignant moment with us.
  22. 1 stone equals 14 pounds. 4 stones equals 56 pounds. Anyway, I wish I had my surgery sooner. I don't think there are many on this site that started with less than 75 pounds to lose but I think almost everyone here would agree they wish they had the surgery sooner as well. As for how long it will take to lose the weight, it's up to the individual. My doctor says the average is 1 to 2 pounds a week so if you stick to band rules you should be able to lose your weight within 6 to 12 months.
  23. My DH says Oprah is overrated and has swallowed her own Kool Aid. He says it won't be long before someone catches her referring to herself as "We" because she's bought into her own hype. I think Oprah has done much to bring many issues to the forefront (most of them women and children's issues) and as a result opened up a dialog in the country regarding some very difficult issues. Now there's nowhere for Oprah to go but down so she should retire gracefully and continue her endeavors away from the limelight. An occasional appearance would probably do more good than her in your face, all the time, every day.
  24. I have arthritis and take Aleve as it's the only over the counter medicine that helps me. My doc said to try and limit it as much as possible. He said to be sure to take some sort of antacid to line the stomach. I have to crush Aleve as I can't find it in liquid form.
  25. Is your starting weight 80 kg? 80 kg is only 176 pounds. How tall are you and how much do you want to lose? BTW, how is it in Cyprus this time of year?
