i JUST GOT MY SECOND ALSO, i AM at 6.5 cc...everyone is different, do not let ppl tell you how much you should have and shouldn't.../a gentleman at our doc office lost 145 on 2 cc, so?? I noticed the tightness, expecially in the AM. If you had 7 cc were you full? If so, why go in for a fill?regardless of the amount in your band, do it until it fits you. Someone else green zone could be 9 or 3 cc

It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and feeling like my old self. I have a Protein Shake in the morning and sweet potato for dinner. I try to eat out of a 1 cup mug so I know how much to eat. As of today I have lost 20lb

One of the secrets to ungassing dry beans is to soak, soak, soak! Soak them in your biggest Soup pot full of Water at least overnight, but change the Water at least twice and more than that if you can. If you can soak them 2 days, even better, just change the water every 8 hours or so until you are ready to cook them. To cook, just put them in fresh water with salt and pepper, onion, diced Tomato, green pepper...whatever you want to flavor them really, or just leave them alone with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce and let simmer, covered, for an hour or several hours, depending on how soft you want them. A lot of people add garlic to them, but garlic makes me gassy, so I leave it out of everything.

chicken leg quarters are a great source of not only Protein but Iron too, I eat them 3x a week. The dark meat is very tender and moist. If you cook chicken breast, sliced thin you can sautee' them in sauce like Pasta Sauce right there you are getting a vegtable serving. I had chicken breast cutlets cut up in light alfredo sauce last night it was very moist. You can make your own ground turkey meat and add egg whites, low fat sour cream to the mixture to moistened it up. The trick is not to overcook your meat. sautee them or moistened them up.

Sojo wasn't being rude. If you notice by her name she is a Lap Band Master also. Sometimes we are dumbfounded that people have Lap Band surgery and instead of getting the info they need from their surgical team, they get it on line. You can't believe everything you read on line. You pay your Dr. big bucks to take care of you, but you ask God knows who what you should do.
Sojo said "you have a lot to learn" and that was her honest opinion. For all we know you could be a 14yo boy just messing with us, and if your not you really want to know what Sojo can teach you.
I wish you well on your journey

Play wii. Instead if wii fit play a funny one just to get you up n laughing at funny things. Then throw fit in and do something fun that doesn't feel like excercising but you are.

Yes very more expensive. A fellow banded got me stuck on choc cream ready to make small bottles off eBay. Much cheaper, add Water to the container and you have ready to drink. About 1.20 each when purchased a lot of them. Also where is everyone finding sugar free choc Syrup? I looked Walmart, no go....

Well its 2 days post op for me I'm taking the pain meds. I discovered the pills are fould tasting but the liquid gravel made me feel nauseaus. Go figure. The gas strips and occational hot beany bag works great. The greatest area of pain is on my lower left side. I'm assuming that is where they put the port threw. They told me to use a heating pad on that spot and it seams to help each day it gets a bit easier. I am hanging around home though that way some little kid is saying hey that lady farted!

. . . my tumbly! 2 days post op. Just giving an update! Haven't experienced the intense pain that a lot of people mentioned. Mostly bloated tummy and incision pain. Haven't had a lot of trouble drinking Water but can't mentally stomach anything else! I tried to eat Jello last night and broth today. Ich! Can't do it. May get better in a few days. Otherwise not so bad. Just resting a lot and trying to heal. Good luck to everyone and best wishes to all the new banders out there.

I have that rumbling feeling a lot also, and I was banded on the 11th as well. Are you drinking other things now? I'm living on lots of Protein Shakes and crystal light - 2 ounces at a time. Jello isn't in my allowed list of things to do... and turns out most broth is pretty icky, But, if you can get pho broth from a Vietnamese restaurant, it's delicious!
