I think it varies, my first fill made me really tired but mostly because I had a headache due to not eating. I would recommend eating a high Protein dinner the night before to kinda keep u going the next day

You may feel a tad sensitive at the port site with all the pinching, however, nothing that should stop you from normal activity of any kind. As for eating, you need to stick to liquids and slowly transition into solids again. Despite whether you feel restriction or not, this transition is crucial to not agitate an already inflammed stoma (consequence of being tightened by the fill).
I will add that once you get closer to green, I feel nauseous with fills. Especially if doc wants to pull all my Fluid out for a volume check and reinsert it. My stomach flips. The nausea usually lasts for a few hours which may/may not be a deterrent to eat.
Stay hydrated. Remember that your band can be finnicky. So day 1 can be great than day 2 too tight. Just keep a watchful eye on it, report any major changes (ie can't drink or eat at all, reflux), and don't hesitate EVER to get an unfill if you experience any of these symptoms (despite wanting to get to green in a hurry).

bluegirly reacted to B-52 in Band is the Band is the Band.....
I have found that the band is the band is the band...no matter where I am, on vacation, a cruise, business travel...no matter if you're at a wedding, a fancy restaurant, or a holiday dinner (Thanksgiving), a sporting event....the foods I will not (cannot) eat at home are the same foods I cannot (will not) eat 3000 miles away!!
This is surgery...a permanent change to my digestive system...an alteration...why, and most importantly - HOW would the band change it's function?? It is there, adjusted to work at a certain level...set by me and my Dr. through a series of fills - adjustments.
When I hear about temptations with food, travel, dinner with friends, etc, etc,...it is reminiscent of diets in the past, and the prelude to eventual failure.....not the new life with the band...
On our last cruise, a 12 night, I ate what and where I wanted, enjoyed myself, not worrying about calories or portions ( I never do anymore anyway).....I just let the band be in charge (as if I have a choice) and do what it does every day of the week....and I lost 2 pounds!!!
If I cannot eat pizza here in NJ on a Friday night, I cannot eat pizza in Seattle!! same goes for all the characteristics of lap bamd Surgery...portion control, inability to over eat, no hunger or cravings...
I do not use the band as I wish when I wish, like a tool as many others express......the band is in charge of me and my eating lifestyle....big difference in something I can control and something that controls me...
I quess I was fortunate to have a Dr. that from the get-go he never chastised me about my shortcomings pre and post op., one time I gained weight between fills and he just laughed at me saying I didn't get it yet.....he would indicate to the Yellow-Greeen-Red Poster on the wall and explain that that was his goal for me in that phase of the journey....and for me that has been all it is ever about....being in that "Perfect" place of balance...it is at the place that all the "Rules" come into play and make perfect sense to live the new life with the band....

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. You don't "hate" yourself, you love yourself, that's why you got OUT of that abusive relationship and we here love you too. You may say: how could these strangers "love" me?!! It's because YOUR pain is & has been our pain as well. You are not alone because we have been there. No more self-loathing, little lady! Put yourself FIRST (after God, if you're religious), get your act together, and fight till the end for your approval. Be blessed & come visit us often. (((KISS))) (((HUG)))

I had lapband surgery in May of 2006, my weight at my surgery date was 386 but I know I was over 400 pounds at some point previous to that. I was about to be a diabetic, severe sleep apnea, and just was going down a road towards death. Today I am happy to say I have hit 231 lbs went from wearing size 52" pants to 34"-36", wear xlarge shirts as opposed to 3x and 4x. I am able to play basketball with 20 year olds and run miles with know pain or sucking wind. I have to be honest sex life is better than ever, I swear my member is bigger than it has ever been so if any guys need encouragement weight loss has been all worth it from a libido and below the belt stand point for me. Enjoying my new body and would do it all over again.

Just my opinion but I think guilt has a lot to do with it. When you make bad choices and do not follow the rules, it hurts to have someone call you out on it. Many people who abuse the band are looking for someone to tell them it's OK. When that is not what they get, I think that's when you see people reacting very negatively. Again...just my opinion based on what I see posted.

Spent the last couple of days reading through posts from here, fb, oh, tt, etc.. Why is it that some people on social media sites are so sensitive about other people's comments?
    Just some examples:
I thought this was a support site, why are you being so mean?
I don't like this group because someone was cursing.
I was just asking if it was ok to have a cocktail and eat a pizza at 2 weeks out, why is everyone being so negative?
I don't mean to be insensitive but this just drives me batty! It's not like we are one big happy family. And if we were, family can say a lot worse things then what I've read on these sites.
Ok that's it. Feel better now.

Tonight after trick or treating with my 3 year old little boy, we were sorting through the loot. He found a mini Snickers bar and wanted me to open it for him. He held the tiny candy bar in his hand and said "it's my frotein bar!"! I guess Protein bars are the norm in his life! I'm really glad that he doesn't even recognize candy bars;)
We did indulge in the Halloween candy tonight, but tomorrow it will find a new home. I feel gross!
