Danielle P.C. got a reaction from catfish87 in Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
It is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself! I can generally eat anything I want - but I am satisfied with much smaller portions. Because I don't make any foods "off limits", I never feel deprived.

that is exactly why I was banded.. I had lost the same 60 - 80 lbs. more times then I can count...but once I got off the diet... It went back on in record time. Not with the band... I just physically cannot eat too much. I love it.

Danielle P.C. reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in Wow U Eat That!?
As other stated, there are decent fast food choices, but you have to really do your homework to know them in advance. I understand someone who travels a lot or is away from home looking for something quick and easy, but in those cases, it's still their responsibility to make the healthiest choice they can.
I am a firm believer nothing is off limits with the band except carbonation. If someone wants a Whopper, go for it, it's their decision. However, if someone is eating Whoppers and Big Macs regularly, they have zero room to whine about "Oh no I'm gaining weight! My band failed!"

Danielle P.C. reacted to Mayasgram in Wow U Eat That!?
I couldn't eat a whopper or a big mac now . Every night when I sit down to eat I take to much and end up eating 1/2 0f it . It has become a joke at our house my husband will say are you going to eat that and I say no . Waitresses constantly ask me is the food alright because there is so much on my plate. And I use to be a founding member of the clean plate club.
Now I crave organic lettuce, spinache and grape tomatoes. If I want something I eat it but rarely all of it just a taste is okay. I learned how to eat all over again at 59. And fast food just isn't good to me or for me I can not eat bread what do you get that isn't in a bun not much......

I break my bp pill into 4 pieces because it is very large.
I take all my pills with a cup of tea .

Danielle P.C. reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in ? On Foods To Avoid
I would try everything yourself and find out what works for you specifically. Not everyone has the same problem foods and not everyone has problems at all.
Personally, there's nothing I can't eat. I just take small, slow bites and I can eat anything.
Best wishes.

Danielle P.C. reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in What Makes This Surgeory So Effective?
I believe it's not the surgery that is so effective, but rather the desire for change by the person who gets the surgery that makes it so effective.
The people who are committed to changing their eating habits to healthy ones for a lifetime, restricting their portions, and following up with their doctors are the ones who are successful. The people who expect the band to do all the work and continue the same eating habits that led them to become obese to begin with, won't be successful.
The band is an amazing tool when used as it's meant to be used.

Danielle P.C. reacted to jen_1381 in Why Am I Not Losing???
I hate to burst your bubble, but unless you're one of the very few lucky ones, the first fill probably won't make much of a difference. I've had 4 fills over the past 4 months and am just now starting to feel like I have good restriction.
Track and measure everything, count your calories, and do your best to get in your Protein.
As frustrating as it may be, the first month post-op is not about losing. Don't get discouraged, this is a marathon not a sprint.

Danielle P.C. got a reaction from ♕ajtexas♕ in Why Am I Not Losing???
I was banded 5 weeks ago today - and i am not looking at the scale anymore since the number doesn't seem to be going down at all! Instead, I am focusing on the changes in my body. I just went shopping tonight and bought pants 2 SIZES smaller!!! I am slimming down without losing a lot of weight. Plus, I am feeling good! So much healthier - and happier! I agree with jen_1381 - this is a marathon, not a sprint...

Danielle P.C. got a reaction from ready2run in 1St Day Home And Feeling Miserable :(
So sorry you've been having a tough time. I had a really hard time on day 3. Started to get hunger pains and terrible nausea and weakness - but could not tolerate anything sweet. Made me gag just thinking about it. So I focused on broth. I had TERRIBLE buyer's remorse!! Kept wondering what the hell I did to myself!! But I am 10 days post-op now, back to work, and really feel like myself again. It gets better!! Promise! Here for you if you need to vent... : )
