  1. Wow, that's a lot! I bet you feel oh so relieved?! Don't you go blowing away on us now! I'm glad to hear about the scars! I'm looking to lose no more than 90. I'm currently 235, would love to see 160. I'm tall, 5'9'', so that's pretty thin for my height. From what I remember, I enjoyed my body even at 170. Maybe I'll get lucky and have very little loose skin. I'd like another child someday, so plastic surgery is out for now, it'd be a waste before pregnancy, but I guess since I'm not above surgery to lose the weight then I won't be above surgery to fine tune it, huh? Lol! Congratulations on all your weight loss! Every success story that I've read is truly an inspiration for me! I've been here less than a week and I feel like I know most of you guys already! 2. I haven't gotten my date yet, waiting for them to call me. But I feel like I'm getting cold feet! I KNOW I want to do this! I'm on day two of the pre op diet. I was so hungry today, maybe that's why I'm feeling this way. I'm guessing it's normal, but all I can think about is loose skin and scars. Seems small compared to the bigger picture, I know. I know I'm not going to back down, I guess that I'm just kind of hoping for a pick me up from you guys! Lol. I don't personally know anyone with lapband already. Any recommendations on preventing loose skin and scar treatment cream? I shouldn't really gripe about the scars, it could be worse and the images I've seen of other people's scars really aren't that bad, if not faded completely. My stretch marks on my midsection from pregnancy almost 3 years ago, although faded already, will surely top these small incisions, right? I'm only 23, I have a lot of living ahead of me. I sure hope I get out of this without needing (too much) plastic surgery. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  3. Day 2 for me! I have to replace 2 meals with a shake, and eat one meal of 8oz lean meat, 1 cup veggies, and 1 cup fruit. Can have SF Popsicles and Jello for Snacks. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  4. Welcome! I haven't gotten my band yet, but everything is ready and I've started the diet, just waiting for my slow Hematologist to get back to my surgeon for medical clearance then Surgeon's appointment and surgery shortly after! Eeep! I wish you a speedy approval! I'm in Webster, Texas. It's right outside of Houston. =) Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  5. My goodness! If you can make it through that without the band, then I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine with it! Good luck tomorrow! I'll be watching for updates! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  6. @george, I kind of sang your post! Hah! Congrats! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  7. Yayyy! I like seeing more people with Dr. Reilly! I couldn't find any reviews on him until I got on here! I was scared of having him as my surgeon at first, but now not so much! =) Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  8. @a1990 Good luck! My insurance went through really fast! They did really well! I wish you a speedy approval as well! @kman What an awesome Christmas present last year, huh?! Haha. I love them so far! @kitty I'm in Webster! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  9. I had my tests today, but I have to wait for my Hematologist to send over my medical clearance because of a Pulmonary Embolism I had in April! Ugh! Hopefully they sent it over when I called earlier! Did you start your pre op diet yet, @a1990? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  10. Ew! I don't have to do a liquid diet. I'm on 2 Protein shakes a day and 1 meal (8oz lean meat, 1cup veggies, and 1 cup fruit). I hope the liquid post op isn't too bad. Lol Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  11. Congrats! I can't wait for mine! I'll have a date tomorrow! Eeek! Are you nervous?! Let me know how everything goes!
  12. @MGP, I've heard nothing but good things about him during my search! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  13. Congrats you guys! @Lassie, that's awesome! I'm looking forward to the health change, but oh man the small things are all I can think about! Less chafing on my thighs! Haha Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  14. Congratulations! That's so exciting! I already can't sleep well because I'm so anxious! I'll be going to Memorial Herman and my surgeon is Dr. Christopher Reilly. I'm reallllly hoping they can do it the Friday the 7th, just because it'd be easier for my boyfriend to be with me and my mom to take my daughter for the weekend, as I have to stay in the hospital 2 days because of my blood clot in April and my Insurance requires 1 night. 15. Hi guys! I'm new here and looking to make some friends! I start my Pre Op diet tomorrow, another appointment on Monday to finish lab work and we're scheduling my surgery date then as well! I'm getting banded by Dr. Reilly in Houston, Texas from True Results! I'm extremely excited to say the least! I can't wait to be a big fat loser! =P I can't stop thinking about what I want to wear when I hit my goal! I miss shorts and tank tops REALLY BAD! Lol! I'd love to be back in sports and to be able to keep up with my daughter! Man! Makes me happy just thinking about it! A local buddy would definitely be twice as awesome! I'm 23 and currently a stay at home mommy of an awesome 2 year old little girl! Either way, I've been snooping on these forums for a few days and all of you seem like the people I need to be around right now! I'm avoiding telling most people because I don't feel like dealing with negative ones! I'll be on tomorrow! Goodnight guys! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

  17. Unfortunately, I can't ever use a hormonal birth control ever again. Not to scare any of you, but I'm going through a lawsuit against Nuvaring right now for a Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot in your lungs) that I got back in April. I have to be on blood thinners until at least Halloween (6 months) and it's very possible that I have to stay on them longer. Doctors did testing and their final conclusion was that it's the Nuvaring and there was no other reason that I'd get a PE at 22 (23 now) So, my only option is Paraguard. It's an IUD like Mirena except it's just copper and makes an unsafe living environment for sperm. No hormones. My insurance won't pay for it even though it's a medical need (can't get pregnant on my blood thinners, it's very dangerous, and it's the only birthday control I can take) so that sucks. I hope those of you on Nuvaring have better luck than I did. I was on it six months. I miss it. Haha. It was so convenient and easy and not to mention it kept my hormones in check! =( Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  18. Awesome! In Houston or somewhere else?
  19. I'm with @Lapbandster on this one. Even when I was 80lbs lighter I still preferred a bigger man. My boyfriend is 6'3'' and about 260 and he's super sexy to me! I've dated smaller guys and my ex husband is even a bodybuilder (4 hours/day in the gym. No joke. It's ridiculous!) but none of them get me going like my baby does! He's also my first (and hopefully last!) "nice guy". I've always gone for bad boys! So over that! 8 months and going strong! So, bottom line, no, I know my preference won't change. I could see it changing for other people though! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk

  21. I'm getting my band sometime in the next few weeks. I go in on Monday to set the appointment and start my diet that day as well. I want SO bad to tell everyone about it (Facebook!) but I'm scared as to what they'll say. I'm excited and sooo ready to do the surgery and no one will take that from me, but I'm not strong enough to deal with the negativity right now and I'm sure there will be someone that won't agree with my decision! Only my mother, boyfriend, and 3 close friends know about me getting it and 2/3 of the friends have had weight loss surgery, neither banded though!
