    First Fill?

I find it interesting how we all vary so much. I was banded 16 Nov and my first fill will be on the 21st of Feb 4 ml.
  3. Sorry i'm venting...So I had my surgery 16 Nov. Wife was Luke warm to the idea because she thought I could do this on my own. I told 1 other person it now the entire family knows. Common theme is "why would you do that if you can loose 40lbs on protein shakes by yourself?" You didn't need surgery. I get sneers now from all family members who know and the first thing they say is "you're loosing weight". Already getting tired of this. Ready to snap back.
  4. This may sound like a stupid question but is consuming a few sugarless chocolates or mints fine and, seeing as the melt in your mouth can you have some during liquid phase? And I do mean a few... 2 or 3!
  5. Hello all. I am 3 days post op and all is well. At what point can the switch be made from decaffeinated coffee to caffeinated?

    Help! I'm Hungry Lol

I had surgery on the 16th as well. I add a tablespoon or 2 of yogurt and a few frozen berries into my blender. I find it adds a bit of weight and certainly some nutrients. Agree though that I'm hungry between meals too.

    Decaf To Regular Coffee

Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm not a huge coffee drinker by any means but do miss my 1 coffee a day (2/3 on weekends). Maybe I'll try 1 a day. I'm not worried in the least about cravings. I thought there may be potential for aggravating the stomach while still recovering. Tks again everyone.

    The November 'band'wagon!

Good luck to you! After 4 months of following this forum and 1 cancelled surgery I met with my anesthetist this morning. No issues! My surgery is scheduled this Friday 16 Nov at 0800 Pacific time. I too am very nervous and anxious but I can't wait!

    The November 'band'wagon!

I'm Nov 16 as well. I was supposed to have it done 7 Sep but it was rescheduled. I am so anxious and can't wait. Must admit I am a tad nervous!
  13. So as I previously mentioned my surgery date was 7 Sept. I have already been on protein shakes for 3 weeks. Just advised today my new date is 5 Oct due to circumsatances out of my control. Then my Dr looked at me and said protein shakes for another 5 weeks, and nothing else. 2 months worth of pre-op diet. By the time my surgery date comes not sure if I will even want it anymore! It seemed as if my Dr didn't understand when I told him that I was psychologically prepared for Sept! Seems to think this is no big deal! Not a happy camper today.

    Not Impressed

I suppose it does get easier. It has become routine for me. Just frustrating that I'm now consuming shakes for 5 extra weeks. I miss the taste of food but i dont crave it. The weight continues to drop anyway. Good luck with your journey. Tks for the support!

    Not Impressed

Appreciate the support. I guess I felt it was a kick in the teeth seeing as I'm already down 18 lbs. I suppose with another 5 weeks I can look at that as a challenge and see how much more I can drop!
  16. Am scheduled to fly across the country 9 days after surgery on business. Can anyone tell me if that's an issue?

    Anyone In Canada?

BC and being banded 07 Sep
  18. Greetings to all. I have followed many discussions for a few weeks now. Finally decided to join. My surgery date is 07 Sep. a tad concerned seeing as my Dr advised me to start protein shakes 2 weeks ago. I started 10 days ago and have lost 17 pounds. It has been tough and I truly miss real food. Seems no one here is on protein diet for this long a time?

Champion nutrition whey. I prefer vanilla. It's not bad and quite filling. Probably because I've been drinking it for 10 days. Price is reasonable as well. All relative...I know, but I paid $70 for two 2lb containers. 26 servings per

    New To The Group

I have found a protein shake which is not too bad. But would I ever like some fresh fruit!

    New To The Group

I have had a couple of cucumbers and other raw veggies over the past 10 days. I have had 2 salads with just greens and a tablespoon of dressing. Oh... And I cheated once and had a very small bowl of spaghetti sauce, NO pasta though! Finding it tough.
