New To The Group

Greetings to all. I have followed many discussions for a few weeks now. Finally decided to join. My surgery date is 07 Sep. a tad concerned seeing as my Dr advised me to start protein shakes 2 weeks ago. I started 10 days ago and have lost 17 pounds. It has been tough and I truly miss real food. Seems no one here is on protein diet for this long a time?

Welcome to the forum...

One of the major topics you will notice through time is that different surgeons will have their own preferred treatment protocol. The instructions given to their patients will vary.

It's always the best idea to consult with your surgeon for questions.

Best wishes as your journey begins...

I have had a couple of cucumbers and other raw veggies over the past 10 days. I have had 2 salads with just greens and a tablespoon of dressing. Oh... And I cheated once and had a very small bowl of spaghetti sauce, NO pasta though! Finding it tough.

Hey Bruce....I remember that liquid diet! I had to do it for 2 weeks pre op. I definitly understand your pain. After the 1st week you will be ok...it becomes a habit. Good luck on your journey. :-)

Champion nutrition whey. I prefer vanilla. It's not bad and quite filling. Probably because I've been drinking it for 10 days. Price is reasonable as well. All relative...I know, but I paid $70 for two 2lb containers. 26 servings per

A big congrats on your success so far???Š huge kudos to you!!! I so want to start a new chapter as well!

I have been on a modified liquid diet for a week now my surgery is on Sept 10th I have to go all liquid in ten day for 2 weeks so I am trying to get a jump on it. So far its not to bad I do have soup in the evening but mostly shakes and a yogurt.during the day. I also have been exercising really hard to be in the best shape i can be in for the surgery. Can anyone tell me how long it will be before I can continue exercising after the surgery. The good thing is I have lost 45 pounds so far and should lose 10 more before surgery.

@ Bruce....You will do great! @ Track....Wow you are doing great. I had to wait a month before my Dr said I could workout. Your doing great keep it up. Sept is right around the corner.
