Ladies, what can I do about my abs?

I've lost almost 70 pounds and my tummy is definitely the last to go. :-( It's shrunk, but not nearly as much as I would like.

    Personal Trainer

I've been thinking about getting a personal trainer. I'm just scared I'll get a Jillian Micheals-type. She scares me. I need a Bob Harper type. How do I go about choosing one? I go to 24-hour fitness and when I signed up years ago I got 5 free sessions. It seemed like her job was just to push the supplements on me and I didn't see any results so I didn't re-up with her.
  3. I was on an anti-depressant for more than 10 years pre-surgery and stopped taking it after surgery (weaned off in the month prior) and haven't had to take them since. I hit the treadmill occasionally pre-op but now I'm at the gym 3-4 times a week and my mental health is so much better than it was even with the meds. Even with the winter blahs I don't feel like I need to go back on the anti-depressant. But I would if I needed to.

    scared again

I had Dr Aceves and am so happy with my results. I had no complications and was able to meet my goal in 5 months. The hospital was immaculate and the staff treated everyone so well. I really appreciated staying in the hospital for 3 days afterward. I hated to leave the hospital bed behind when I went home. If you have any questions about Dr Aveves, feel free to PM me.

    Very confused!

Jesser, I understand where you're coming from. I knew I would only get negativity from my parents, so I chose not to tell them. I realize you don't have that option, so I can only suggest that you remember you are doing this for you and your child. Not for your mom or anyone else. This is all about you. It will be one of the few times in your life you have permission to be completely selfish. I don't think you are likely to get support from her on this one, but we (your virtual friends) understand and will support you. As for your choice of surgeons, I know I did what you are doing. There are many excellent surgeons to choose from. I made a list of what I felt were the top 10, then narrowed to 5, then 2. I prayed about it, agonized over it, pros and cons, and woke up one morning knowing who I wanted to be my surgeon. I went alone, so I wanted to be in a hospital where I knew I would get 24-hour care and would be in a hospital "just in case." I loved having the hospital bed, the nurses at the touch of a call bell, and not having to move to another facility. For me, all these things and so many more made it worth the money I paid. Was it more than most surgeons? Yes. Was it worth every penny for my own peace of mind? Absolutely. I have lost almost 70# since my surgery on 8/31. I had no complications, and feel great. Wishing you the best in your decision. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about my experience.
  6. It seems like all the gummies have sucrose/sucralose as the first ingredient. Anyone found one that's sugar-free?

Self pay ..what did you do?

I saved for almost a year and put off buying a new car to pay for my surgery with Dr Aceves. Worth every penny!

    munchies

For me, when I felt like that it was actually acid problem. I didn't have them pre-surgery now, but if I don't take my PPI, I feel like I'm starving.

    Homemade Veggie soup

Hi Shelley, I'm from Vegas too. I had made a huge pot of chicken veggie soup a while ago and froze the extras in quart size ziplock bags. It was perfect when I got home tonight :-)

    Leaving next Friday

The week before surgery I was a wreck. One minute I was so excited the next I felt like I was going to throw up. I made a list of all the reasons I wanted to have the surgery and pulled it out every time I got nervous (event he night before surgery). I also took pre-op pics (wish I had taken some in underwear, all mine are fully clothed), shopped for all all the drinks & supplies I thought I'd need. You will be so glad you did this. I have no regrets at all. I've hit my original goal and am pressing downward. Good luck!
  12. I had Dr Aceves and paid by cashier's check when I got there. I had a fantastic experience and results. Highly recommend him and his staff!
  13. I was alone and had no problems. I just had everything I thought I'd need for a few days all set out (drinks, heating pad, etc).
  14. You look great! Congrats! Incredible results in only 3 months!

    alone

I went alone and I was fine. There were other people who had surgery in my wing so I made some new friends and had someone to talk to. I was actually glad my friend wasn't able to make it. I didn't always feel like chatting and there wasn't much to do for the three days in the hospital. I would have felt obligated to entertain her when all I wanted to do was take a nap.
  16. Who did your PS? And what procedures did you have done? I may need a TT and breast lift. Thanks.
  17. I went from a 40DD to a 34 DD per my visit to VS today and my first bra fitting in about 6 years. I had a reduction and lift in 2005. I don't know if I want them reduced again but I would love to have them lifted again if/when I have a TT. I had the anchor surgery that serendipityhappens described, and while they looked amazing, I must say a reduction is extremely painful.

    TUMMY TUCK TOMORROW MORNING

Thank you so much for sharing your day-to-day story. I haven't seen anyone share the good, bad, and ugly, so I really appreciate it. Hope you keep getting better
  20. I was sleeved 8/31. SW was 193, HW was 199. I'm down 55# since surgery!!!
  21. I did what most of the other posters did. I researched, researched, and researched some more. I picked the top ten, top 5, and narrowed it to my top two and after lots of prayer and more research chose Dr Aceves. His assistant is Dr Campos and I actually saw him more after surgery than Dr Aceces. I know he cost more, but I am extremely happy with my results. I wanted to stay in the hospital, not go to a hotel. I stayed there three nights. I saved for nine months including my tax returns, etc... I feel my results are worth every penny. Ultimately, only you can decide the best surgeon for your budget and comfort. I wish you the best and keep asking questions. :-)

    Take Home Meds...

Mine did not prescribe blood thinners and I didn't have compression stockings.
  23. I was sleeved 8/31/12 by Dr Aceves. I've lost 55# since surgery and I feel incredible! Not a single complication, Still can't eat more than 2 oz of meat in a meal and I like it that way. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! But I'm glad I don't have to LOL
  24. I was 199 when I decided to be sleeved. I'm 5'2". I've been fighting my weight battle for more than 10 years. I was extremely depressed and unhappy. My knees hurt, my back hurt, and I was pre-diabetic. I've lost 20-30 and gain 40+ more times than I can count. Both my parents are extremely morbidly obese. I could see my future in them and it wasn't pretty. I could guarantee that my weight would only continue to escalate so I decided to be proactive rather than reactive. Why wait and waste more of my life? I needed a weapon for my weight battle, and the sleeve was it. Today I am 138 and feel like I am living for the first time in more than 10 years. I feel healthy, mentally and physically.
  25. Just checking to see how you're doing now. Hope you're doing well and I'm looking forward to pics. Dr Aceves did my sleeve too.
