I ran into a stall at 3 weeks & it lasted 2 weeks but I dropped 2 pant sizes & the dreaded stall finally lifted this past week end & I've dropped 2 more pounds.

Yep, met too. Burp all the time. I think it's just we take in air when we eat, like everyone, but our tiny tums are just so tiny that there isn't room for air and food, and the air's got to go. Burping all the time....feel like Shrek!
Okay, went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg on Saturday.....cried a little cause I'm not far enough out from surgery to ride rides (only three weeks). And most of the rides would not be friendly to recent surgerized folks like me...too many forces pulling and stuff. I did get to go on a few. I love the teacups. But the rest of my family had fun. Okay, the worst part, I got too hungry. We sat down to eat lunch and I think I ate too fast (not much) or didn't chew enough, or whatever, but luckily we were right next to the restrooms, because I had to go in there and vomit.....twice. And hard. I felt so stupid. I should know better by now. And I also think there are things I just can't eat yet. And of course you aren't allowed to bring food into amusement parks. And let's be honest, who wants to bring a cooler, leave it in the car and then hike the 5000 miles back to the car just so you can eat something? But hey, the funnel cake with warm apples, carmel sauce, ice cream and whipped cream seemed to go down and stay down well.....at least the three bites I had of it.
Sorry to those of you having reflux/heartburn issues. Not fun. Talk to your doc again. Could it be you're eating to close to bedtime? Or does it help to prop yourself up higher in bed? Wish I had the answer for you all. Hang in there.

No I haven't. In fact I use to take pride in my belches (sorry- huge family and apparently we have no pride). Anyway- my point being I only do little burps. Totally disappointing.

I have been using liquid Allegra for kids. Works great! I used 24 hour allegra prior to surgery but those pills are way big. The liquid is 12 hour.

I was just sleeved last week, but my surgeon told me I could continue to take Zyrtec, but in the liquid form. I haven't actually had to yet.....

Luckily for me the NSAIDs thing didn't bother me, as I am allergic to all NSAIDs. I will take an Allegra, it is tiny, so it shouldn't hurt me. Thanks so much! I've sneezed about 50 times in 20 minutes. They are killer today.

I'm scheduled to have my VSG on February 2 with Dr. Lopez in Tijuana. I've read success stories on the research I've done n I was just wondering if there were anyone on here who has done it.
I'm pretty excited and can't wait for this long life change!!

My doctor doesn't use a drain and he trained at UT medical school. He does single incision gastric sleeve and robotic sleeves. Not everyone needs a drain, it's a case by case situation or should be. Some surgeons take the cookie-cut route, and do everything the same way for every patient, whether they need it or not.

What's with the personal vendetta against Dr. Kelly? Again, I find it suspicious. Every person chooses a physician that THEY feel comfortable with. Be it Kelly, Garcia, Ponce...as long as WE are happy with our care and outcomes. I believe it is wrong to destroy a reputation with unsubstantiated claims. Its called defamation. I for one switched from Garcia to Kelly just because of such ridiculous tactics by coordinators. I felt as a healthcare professional that such board postings and rumors were unethical and I don't want to deal with such business people. For goodness sake! Every surgeon gets a fair share...its not like there aren't enough of us to go around lol. Many surgeons are doing 5+ surgerys a day..really??! If you have a PERSONAL experience good or bad by all means, its a public forum for information. But if you're just posting unproven, unsubstantiated rumor with no legitimate sources it is unappreciated and unwarranted. Good luck in the search for a doctor YOU are comfortable with.

You are in a rough spot. The best thing I can think of is that June will come. You are postponing because it is the right thing to do. Doing the right thing ALWAYS leads to good results. I can understand why you would want to binge to squash those pesky feelings; never having overcome that myself, I can't say how to.
Just try to focus on the positive elements of the changes you are making. You've made it this far -- 6 lbs within pre-surgery goal weight!! That's so fantastic. You can hang on a little longer.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. This route we've chosen has its negatives; that's for sure. But the positive outcome -- permanent weight loss, better health, more active lifestyles -- WILL come if we keep on keeping on!

I am afraid you have been misinformed. I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly @ Mi Doctor on August 17th. Omar told me that Mi Doctor has been trying their best to get Dr. Kelly to use them as their primary hospital. My husband will be choosing the same doctor and hospital in the spring. As a matter of fact he is adament about having Dr. Kelly because I have had such an easy surgery and recovery. I am 7 weeks out today 26 lbs lighter and I, like my friend Damanda, have never thrown up, had slimies, or any other complications. Dr. Kelly's team still checks on me and answers any questions I have right away. The experience couldn't have gone better. My incisions were like tiny scratches and are healing up beautifully. I can already eat about 4 oz of anything I want (although I stay away from bad stuff), and I haven't had a single food disagree with me yet. Dr. Kelly said he uses his professional judgement whether to drain or not drain. In my case he said I didn't need it and I was estatic about that. I am not here to tell someone who to choose or not choose, you must do your research and go with what makes you comfortable but I do think someone should be sure before they start stating "facts" that aren't correct.

My teeth also feel fuzzy, brushing my teeth a lot! Also, using lots of SF breath mints!
2nd day on purées and everything has been going really good, but I took some puréed tuna salad to work today and was really looking forward to it, but something about the smell or texture of it, I just couldn't do it! And I love Tuna! Luckily, not having any issues with egg salad or refried Beans with cheese and a little salsa in it, they are both yum! I'm also pureeing up some thicker Soups and they taste good.

I scramble my egg with a Tbsp. of low fat cream cheese- it seems to make the egg creamier and I havn't had that stuck feeling. Also a little extra Protein. That's the only addition so far I've added this week- for my pureed foods. I guess I'm not sure of what to try or too chicken to try other things yet- because I really hate to throw up! Keep thinking I may boil a few eggs and make some chicken or tuna salad this weekend. Thanks for all the info you guys put out there. It's nice to know I can talk about this with someone whom knows how this feels

Post op visit today for my one month. Down 32 pounds. Also was put on the strict rules. 20 grams of Protein each meal. 3 meals a day and 1 snack. Meals must be eaten within 30 minutes. No drinking 15 min before meal and 1 hr afterwards. If you get 20 grams of protein and do not drink with meals eat within 30 min your stomach sends a signal to your brain that you are and will stay full for about 4 hours. It's all making sense but still very difficult.
