  1. Sliming is not always a sign of tightness, more like overeating or improper chewing because that the only time I get it. Next time, i will give my band more time and accept eating tinier portions and get more fluids in bteween meals. I also think unfills totally changes the fit of the band. I will never leave w /o drinkin water or having a light snack to test my restriction -It costs too MUCH & wastes a lot of my time.
  2. Hi there Christy! Im almost 8 mos out, but I feel your pain still now at times. Unlike most, i didn't do liquids for more 7 day- I WAS STARVING! I paid for it in gas, pain, vomiting and stuck episodes. I had no support from other who've had the lapband, so i was winging it. Recently, I had a fill that had me so restricted that i couldn't get my smoothies down without waiting several minutes between swallows - so i became depressed over having to let go of the foods that i had become comfortable with. Now 2 weeks later, I realized that my band was doing exactly as it should.....slowing down my digestion, and keeping me satified with even smaller amounts of food. So dont throw the towel in yet, you still got lots more battles to win over obesity and old habits with your new weapon: your Lapband.
  3. I use GNC "GOLD STANDARD " vanilla ice cream Whey protein. It tastes great with everything I've mixed it with. My daily fav is with 1/2 c of O.J. ,1 c strawberries, 5-6 bluberries and 1/2 a banana. Im not a milk fan, but it tastes great in a glass of soy milk.
  4. I totally agree. Until LBT, I never had a place to openly discuss my post surgery issues or successes. I'm soo excited about LBT.
  5. Hello everyone! I'm new to Lapband Talk and have not publicly discussed my band with anyone other than close friends. I struggled with having a not so good Surgeon, who cared less whether I hit my goal weight on target. Instead, he decieved me into choosing a lapband over Gastric Bypass and was reluctant to give me fills. This led to depression, feelings of being a failure in everyones eyes and me starrting back on appetite suppresants. It was not until I began to start over "cold turkey ", with exercising, dieting and getting the courage to hire another bariatric surgeon did I began to lose weight. I have had 3 fills, 1 unfill and now waiting to get another fill. I love what the lapband has done for my health & body image....but all the hassles in between makes me really hate that I didn't get the Gastric Bypass.
