  1. Yes, that is the best thing to do. Contact the coordinators Alma and Meli are great at Ready 4a Change they will answer any and all questions for you.
  2. I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia on Oct 5 and I am down 26lbs and that is not pre op weight loss all post op. I didn't experience any drama and my experience was great also. I have to agree with the other ladies, it seems that the post you are looking at are serving as entertainment. All the drama you speak of is created by rival Medical Tourism companies. Every doctor has a fatality rate in Mexico and in the States that's why everyone says do the research for yourself. Its a matter of choice and being comfortable with your choice. Dr. Garcia was wonderful and so was all the other staff. They were there when I needed them and they still respond to emails even with me being 6 wks post op. You have to stop feeding into the drama and choose based off of what's right for you! If your first was Dr. Ponce then go with him and don't worry about the rest.
  3. I had my surgery 10/5 didn't have much gas pain or other pain for that matter in the hospital, but once I got home everything hit me at once. I felt like I had every symptoms for every major concern after this kind of surgery. Even had a regret cry for getting surgery and being selfish because it was my daughter's birthday weekend. I prayed and asked God to not let me die with my daughter laying next to me. I mean took myself through the ringer, but I felt better after crying. On another note, I have been having crazy gas pain all in my back, under my chest bone area and on the side where the drainage hose was. Is it normal to still be having gas pains like this? If so, does anyone have any recommendations on what I can do to make it go away?

    Oct Sleevers

Hello all, I made it throgh. I can now say I have been sleeved.....Yay me! Just wanted all to know I am doing well and feel good.
  6. Hello everyone, Thanks for the well wishes and good vibes. I made it through surgery no complications. I went in to the OR and the thing I remember is my arms being stretched out and straped down, afterward I awoke in the recovery room. My sister and daughter told me after making it out of the recovery room, I took a 30 min power nap and said lets go walking. I've had very little and I mean little pain or gas. For Dr. Garcia's patients you all will LOVE him and the staff. Everyone is so attentative to your needs before you know what your needs are. Once again, THANK YOU ALL! I look forward to hearing your surgery story too.
  7. Made it to Cali and Samuel the driver for Ready4aChange was right there to pick us up. Heading to TJ now in traffic to check in for tomorrow's surgery.

    Hey Guys

Your failures can become your greatest triumpets and that is something that I am learning to this day. Its natural to be freaked out about things like this. Now, what's not natural is to not be freaked out or stressed and I think I am not natural. Even though its only 2 days away I have butterflies, jitters nor am I scared. I keep waiting for that moment when it will hit me that this is happening and I'm going. My luck it will hit me when I'm laying on the table for surgery, Lol! So, don't freak out there are plenty of other's who had the lapband and it just didn't work for them. Look to this group for your support in that area. I believe 1 or 2 lady's on here had the same issue. Like the song by Donald Lawrence says "The best is yet to come!" so don't freak out. I had to get out the way....sorry! Hopefully, we can get a meet up group going in Houston if there isn't already one after this is all said and done. What side of town in Houston do live? My sister and daughter will be traveling with me. I will be staying 4-5 days total in TJ, 2 days in the hospital and 2-3 days post op in the hotel with visits by the doctor and his staff.

    Hey Guys

My surgery is schedule for this Thursday the 5th of Oct in Tijuana, MX. I leave Houston on the 4th hided to Cali.
  12. For me I started my Pre-op last Sunday and for the first 3-4 days it was easy, until the headaches started. I thought they were hunger headaches, but if I drank more Water they went away. The headaches were in the front (forehead area) really intense, all I wanted to do was close my eyes and go to sleep. My attitude sucked at times, but as the day went on it got better and so did I. By the 4th morning the headaches went away. My 10-14 day pre-op consists of 3 Protein shakes 15g or more of protein Morning, lunch and after dinner Dinner I could eat a salad with lean protein and of course plenty of water. I bought the crystal light packets to flavor the water and only add enough so that I can taste the flavor. Putting the whole packet in gives me this gross taste in my mouth...Yuck! Yesterday, I did slip and ate a chicken salad sandwich (2)slices of bread. Felt bad for cheating, but I'm back on track. Not sure what I've lost yet, but my clothes around the waist fit looser and I no longer feel bloated.

    To The Mexico Sleevers

Most of us will use our PCP for follow up appointments. Made2beme posted in another forum about Researching Dr. Garcia and Ready 4A Change. She has some good info for anyone who is wondering whats after your discharged and sent home. Good luck to us all!
