  1. That's awesome. I wanted a pic too but Dr said no ;-(
  2. everyone is doing great! i know the stalls suck. i had one for almost 3 weeks and it was so frustrating. then i lost 4.5lbs in a week. been slowly losing since. im down a total of 57.7lbs! (17lbs on my own, 15lbs preop, 25.7lbs postop). ill take it good luck to everyone
  3. i asked my dr at my last check up and he doesnt weigh or measure it. said to get a true weight of the volume they had to inject it with a certain chemical, and at the end it makes it explode, said its a bit too messy. it does get sent out to pathology but no sizes
  4. i did refried Beans, egg salad, chicken salad, i also made the pot roast from this website and ran it through the food processor, it was actually very good. looks gross, but tastes good. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html
  5. my personal opinion is that if you didnt have some sort of second guessing that would be not normal. this is a huge decision and only one that you can make for yourself. i was so excited for surgery up until 2 days before and then it turned to fear, scared, excited, emotional, every emotion in the book i was feeling. partially because i have a 2 year old. i was so scared that i would be leaving her without a mommy. but looking back (surgery was 12/10) i was lucky and had no complications, other than some nausea right after surgery and my tummy swelled and i had to stay in the hospital for an extra day. im now down 24lbs since surgery, 57 total and i couldnt be happier. i am on foods now and learning what i can and cant eat. its been great. you definitely have to do what is right for you and no one can figure that out except for you. but i can guarantee that almost everyone on this board has second guessed themselves prior to surgery and had the "can i lose the weight without surgery?". my opinion is yes you probably can, but will it stay off? that is where i always went arye. good luck in your soul searching!
  6. i'm a little over a month out. definitely going to scar but i had single site sleeve so its in my belly button. once my tummy gets tight (hopefully) you might see the tail end of it coming out the bottom of my button but might not be too noticeable.
  7. i was sleeping on my side in the hospital. i just tucked a pillow under my tummy to help ease any pain. but i didnt really have any pain post op. only had one incision. but i would say as soon as its comfy for you, go for it
  8. I had the same thing happen except I am 5'8 and Dos 12/10 I was 300lbs. I went in for a Check up last week on the 9th, almost one month from surgery and was down 20lbs. And my Dr was not happy with my weight loss. I don't ever recall a time when I lost 20lbs in a month and kept it off. I'm down 55 total since I started this. I'll take it!
  9. I would definitely call your dr. In the interm probably go back to liquids or full liquids. Do those bother you at all? I would also focus on water so you don't dehydrate. But definitely give your dr a call.
  10. Yikes! That was my fear when I did the pee test. But congrats! Babies are such a blessing.
  11. Glad all is well! Get some rest and keep focusing on fluids .
  12. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to Google it tonight and look on some other sites. I can't be the only one with this.
  13. Never had hip pain in my life, was sleeved 12/10 and since I started losing weight (down 55lbs total) my hips hurt when I walk. I have a desk job so they typically hurt when I first get up. Once I get moving they are fine. I'm chalking it up to the weight loss and my body adjusting to the center of gravity changing. Anyone else experience hip pain? I don't have arthritis, never had this until after surgery and some weight loss took place. I see my surgeon in a week so I will ask him then.
  14. Update us when you can. Hopefully you went in to get checked out.
  15. Good luck to all the sleevers tomorrow!
  16. It's still early and maybe your body is still adjusting? Did you lose weight preop? Someone recently told me to have my female hormones checked. If you estrogen and progesterone are out of whack sometimes your body won't lose. Just a thought.
  17. I'm newly sleeved but I don't believe that. You definitely can't eat the amounts you used to eat. I think it allows you to eat a sensible sized meal. There is no reason for anyone to be eating multi burger, fries, lrg coke, etc at one meal. That's a lot of food and calories. I think by a year out (I could be wrong) but most people are eating around 1200 or more a day. Doesn't sound like starvation to me. At the beginning maybe a smidge as you are only taking in about 600 a day, but it's short term and yiu work up to more. So no I don't think it's starvation at all. But that's my opinion.
  18. When I woke up from surgery i had the heaves. All through the night and into the next morning. I also threw up the lortab the first time they gave it to me and then I refused to take it. They were rotating my anitnausea meds and I also had that patch behind my ear. The hospital I was at didn't seem to be concerned about the heaves hurting my sleeve at the time (sleeved 12/10/12).
  19. It's so strange to me to see the dramatic changes of women's breast during weight loss/gain. Mine NEVER EVER change. I'm really thinking I'm a freak. They didn't get bigger as I got heavier. They never changed when I was pregnant with my daughter 3 yrs ago. But sadly I couldn't nurse either. But yeah to be my size and have a B cup is pretty funny. It's very hard to find bras that fit me.
  20. I too am in the Chicago area and I went with the Kane center, Dr rantis. I felt very comfortable with him. He had great reviews/write ups online. And I trusted him. They've also been doing wls for a long time so that was a piece of mind for me as well. During my stay in met Dr guske and he was great as well. Took a lot of time with me and answered questions for me while in hospital.
  21. I've been stalled since 12/23 and it's getting very frustrating. Sleeved 12/10 and lost 16lbs that first week and a half. Then nothing.
