2. Today marks 6 months postop. It has not been easy mentally or physically but I'm doing it slow but sure! When I met my surgeon 8/29/12: 332 When liquid diet started 11/25/12: 315 Day of surgery: 300 Today: 241.9 Im officially down 90lbs total! Thank you all for your support over these last 8-9 months. I wouldn't have been able to do this without this group or my other online groups. You guys understand what we go through as supportive as my family and friends are and want to be. They still don't get it. Thank you again!

TWO WEEK LIQUID PRE SURG DIET ANNOYING!

Aside from the fact that they claim it shrinks your liver (I'm still not 100 percent sold on that). It also preps you for life after postop. Honestly in my opinion it can only help you succeed. If you can't follow this for 2 weeks. What will you do when you have 4-6 weeks of liquids postop? Just giving you a different perspective. Postop is hard mentally. And I would take those 2 weeks to prep. Good luck.

What happens to the removed part of the stomach?

I said I wanted to see it. My surgeon said no. Was sent to pathology and then disposed of.

sleevers in Chicago southland

I second the Kane center and also Dr rantis. Was sleeved 12/10/12 with him. He was amazing preop and also postop. I see him tomorrow for my 6 month checkup. When did you have surgery or was it your son? Someone in one of my preop nutrition class was there with his mom and also the day I had surgery i saw the same mom and son. I never introduced myself but was wondering if that was you .

VSG done laparoscopically?

Others explained it for you I had single site vsg and recovery was minimal. If your dr does it i would go for it. Definitely do your research and find out how many they have performed. Then make an informed/educated decision. Good luck to you.
18. I posted this on another board the other day but thought I'd add it to the success stories. I'm down a total of 85lbs, from 332 to 247, and half way to goal! That's including preop op weightloss. I've lost 53lbs since surgery 12/10/12. Ideally i want to get to 165. That leaves about 82lbs to goal.
19. What's funny about this topic was I never really thought much of being naked on the table. I knoe they out a paper gown on me prior to surgery. When I woke up in recovery I had on a typical hospital gown. Never to get much of it right away. Then one day it hit me that I woke up in something different than I went to "sleep" in.
20. Usually a paper gown that they'll remove after they knock you out.

Hospital gown, or bring your own

Oh and I also wore yoga pants under mine.
