    Anyone using a Fitbit?

There is a Droid app so I assume there is an Iphone app as well.

    Why the ban of caffiene?

I've been drinking it since about 10 days out. Can't stand it black though and have used sugar free flavored creamer the entire time. Losing weight is important - but so is quality of life.
  3. I just switched to an acid reducer when I ran out of Prilosec OTC, and I noticed what seemed like a rebound effect myself. I hadn't heard that the PPI carry more risk. Why is that?
  4. I had a sharp burning pain on the left side that didn't start till 6 weeks out and occured when getting up our bending over to put on my shoes. Thankfully it only lasted about 10 days, and the doc said it was a nerve in the healing process. At 6 months out that whole area is numb - pretty much no feeling at all on the surface.

    constipation

I take a stool softener every day with my vitamins and that seems to keep things running ok. It's still about every 3 days but that's my new regular I guess.
  6. I as down 20-lbs my first week and a total of 26-lbs after 2 weeks. I'm 6 months out now and have been weighing and plotting my weight every day just for curiousity's sake. I've attached the latest pdf. You can see some dramatic up's and downs with holidays and birthdays, etc., but it always seems to find it's way back to the trend line. And I am not a big exercizer and am known to have a nip now and then (OK two nips). Graphing my weightloss has helped me to be patient and look at the big picture. My Diet Track.pdf

    Best protien shakes?

Premier Protien at Sam's. They are 30 gms of Protein - 1 gm of sugar - 160 cals. Already mixed so tugs at my lazy side too. It is getting easier to stomach the shakes the farther out I get from surgery. (6 months out now)
  8. I'm 6 months out and and still prefer my drinks just cool, not cold. It's not so much that I can't handle the cold in my stomach, but I'm so cold natured now it seems to drop my core temp too much and chill me out.

    Cold ALL The Time!

I'm 6 months out and still feel much colder than pre-surgery, especially with cold weather moving in. Maybe it will get better when we get to maintenance mode and our calories go up?

    Favorite Things To Sip On!

I get the 32 oz Power-Ade Zero's. I drink one a day, and with my other drinks I know I'm over 64 oz's. I still have an aversion to drinking water at 5 1/2 months post-op for some reason.

How Do You Know When You're Full

I may be weird, but I'll get a few hiccups when I'm topped off, or start to sneeze., If I go any more I'll feel the dreaded lump in the chest. Cottage Cheese is a slider with me if its on the runny side, but if dry it will let me know when I'd better stop. When on soft foods I used the 3oz paper Dixie cups to measure my food and help keep me from making myself uncomfortable. I used plastic spoons too. My wife loved it since it was the first time in our marriage I wasn't creating any dirty dishes, at all.
  12. I felt the same way for my first 4 weeks. I was still leaning on the shower wall at 3 weeks out - then at the 4 week mark I realized that I felt pretty good and was getting my mojo back. I guess it takes a while for our bodies to adjust to the change in energy source. Hang in there - it gets a lot better soon.
  13. I tried it without the CPAP at about 3 months and my wife says I'm quiet enough for her to sleep - but I still try to stay on my side to minimize the chances of some purring noise.
  14. When eating soft foods I used the 3 oz paper bathroom cups. Three oz/ was my limit at the time, and tossed after one use.
  15. At 3 weeks post-op I stalled for 3 weeks. I'm at 5 months and stalled for 4 weeks currently. Ready to move on any time now.
