I totally know what you are talking about. I was Banded 7/30 and up until I went into the operation room, I was ready to say NO. I am so happy I did it. I look better and feel much better. I can walk now and I actually enjoy it. I can now buy clothes in the misses department not the women's. I call it the FF department, Fat F-ck. That is what I also called myself, FF. No more. After being on protein shakes for so long, food means nothing to me now. I do miss pizza, my favorite food. Some day I will have one slice again. I miss salad but know protein is more important. You will do great! Do it for your better health and new clothes. What woman doesn;t want new clothes in a smaller size?
    Good Luck!!!!!!

I understand wanting more food. Lately I have felt like that too. My go to food to snack on is jumbo lump crab. Very expensive but goes down great. It it healthy and can be chewed nicely. It was on my post op menu.I also find Zone protein bars are filling. And then the go to, protein shakes make with lots of ice are as thick as a McDonalds shake. They fill you. I just had dinner at TGIF and I am very full. I had a salad, chicken and some mashed potatoes. Don't think of food. I don't any more. Good luck

well, i know if i take my vitamins on a empty stomach, i get sick to my stomach feeling also. are you able to maybe change brands? that could be it.
seems to me you are doing well.
just because the scale is not moving as much as you want it too
does not mean you are not losing. are your clothes looser?? if so, that is a great sign in my book.
dont get frustrated. dont get mad. dont get aggravated.
just put your high heels on, put your shoulders back
and do what YOU know to do to make your band work.
    you got this GF.
    now just do it.

41lbs since Aug. 1 is fantastic! Don't lose sight of that!!! The average is 1-2 lbs per week so you are right on track!!
If you have the "bad foods" in the house that are tempting you, get them out of the house so they aren't within arm's reach. Leftover Halloween candy, bring it into work and give it away. You CAN do this!!
I agree that the vitamins if you are taking them on an empty stomach could be the culprit or try switching them. I take gummy vitamins (dr. approved) and they do well with me. The chewables are gritty for me and I don't do well w/ them.
Also, I am not sure how much cooking for yourself you do but I have found some really tasty recipes that I like and am able to freeze the extras so I have easy meals ready to go (lasagna "cupcakes" were YUMMY!).
Lastly, if you are not getting your protein in first that can have a big impact on your success. It will keep you fuller longer. My dietician told me the other day too that it was ok for me to snack between meals but it should be a planned snack to avoid grabbing an unhealthy alternative between meals and to avoid grazing but to keep me from wanting to gorge at the next meal time.
If you have a sweet tooth, keep some sugar free options on hand (sf popsicles, pudding, etc.). If I am really having a craving for chocolate I really like the jello brand sf choc. mousse... so being prepared for those cravings helps me without being able to sabbotage me.
All in all you are doing quite well. Stalls or bumps in the road are normal and I am very happy you are addressing it before it festers.
    You ROCK!

It's not easy, but gosh my dad is such a trooper. He goes with the flow, and it almost makes us "forget" that he has cancer. It'll be OK, because we'll just continue to be there & provide support. It won't be easy, but we'll make it.
In the meantime, I want my dad to see me getting thinner & hopefully healthier. I know he wants what's best for me.
    Appreciate your kind words!

I wore spanxs from the time I started losing weight and things started to giggle. Never heard we could not wear them. I will say I have to be careful with pantyhose, some of the waist bands fall right accross my port and by the end of the day I can have a tummy ache.

    Kime,
First I want to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your Grandmother, how wonderful that you were able to share her life all these years. The loss of a loved one is so stressful, it pulls at the strings of our heart and stretches our emotions in ways we never felt were possible. I am so very sorry for your loss. I am sure your grandma was so very happy and joyous to see that you had finally taken a step in the right direction to make sure you were around to see your family through the eyes of an old lady. I too am a southern girl and the majority of our family gatherings always have and still do revolve around food, good food, unhealthy food and the kitchen. I can remember as a child a game my brothers and I would play, (not only am I southern but Italian. kinda like have a double whammy. Fried and pasta) Mom would make homemade ravioli and we would count them as we ate them, the one the ate the most got the biggest piece of dessert. (I gotta smile at the now) So as far as food I do feel your pain.
So her comes the preaching, Stop feeling guilty over a small set back, this is life and in life we will sometimes make poor choices. This is not a diet and you can get back on track. You have made excellent progress and you know what you need to do to be successful. When we are sad and depressed we need to move, take a walk after work, the exercise will release some positive endorphins which will help with the sadness your feeling. Your mind is still sad for your loss and you are going to need your strength to get you through this. I know you had a stuck episode from the chicken and sometimes this takes a few days to get over, sometimes after one of these it seems like everything gets stuck. So drink more protein, eat Greek yogurt, soft egg whites with a little cheese. Go back to your soft stage for a week to give your tummy time to adjust. If it doesn't get better in a few days, call your physician.
So pick yourself up, pull your Big Girl Panties on and Deal With It. The one thing we all have to learn is how to deal with what life throws us, it we chose to wallow in self pity we will go right back where we were and NONE of us want to go back there. Do we?

Welcome. Don't be afraid. I was banded 7/30 of this year and turned 62, 2 weeks ago. I have never felt so good. Just remember, Chew, Chew, Chew and you should not have problems. Since my highest weight on March I am down 59 lbs. I have a protein shake every morning, I hate eggs and other breakfast foods. Protein is the most important food to have. I have chocolate, add decaf instant coffee and some peppermint extract and tons of ice and it's nice and thick like a McD's shake. They fill you for about 4-5 hours. This site is wonderful and I have met some wonderful people and we all tell, all.
    Good luck!!!

After my surgery I went to taking no more meds! except 1/2 of my high blood pressure pill which I put into my shake. Everything else is chewable.I take all chewable vitamins and minerals from Bariatric Advantage. When I came home from the hospital my 3 meds were liquid and I only used them for a short time except the liquid Zantac was for one month. It's a new life. Sharon Osbourne has been banded for over 10 years and looks great.

One day she will see you are on her side. I have a 34 year old son who is very obese. I have tried everything with him. He knows better because he has been thinner. He now has a wife and 2 sons who all eat crap! They lived with me for 10 months so I know how they eat. Awful. At least you are making great meals.
Good luck with her seeing you are not the wicked witch.
