I am so excited about the surgery! I went to Cosco this weekend and purchased Protein Powder, greek yogurt and Vitamins. I picked up some Cytosport whey Protein powder (vanilla) that has 27 grams of protein and only 3 grams of carbs and 140 total calories. It was alittle pricey but it was really delicious!! I am not a big fan of this greek yogurt by itself so I will have to mix it with other products.
I went to my local Market Street grocery store and purchased the PB2 powder and PB Thins! It made me fall in love with Peanut Butter all over again.
Has anyone else been shopping and purchasing preop/post op goodies yet?
Is anyone using chia seed in there preop shakes?

Kczar-Thanks for the info. I was able to purchase my PB2 powder and PB thins at Market Place. I have feel in love with Peanut Butter all over again. It is O'so GOOD!!
PB Thin are awesome! They taste kind of like Nutter Butters but much lower in fat and calories. One pack is 100 calories and I think you could easily break them into two services post-op. And PB2 is a powdered version of Peanut Butter where the majority of the fat is removed. It comes in regular and chocolate flavors. It's great in Protein Shakes. I'm planning on having a bit next week on toast. Yum!
You can go to the Bell Plantation website and do a search to find them in a local store. If you have a Market Street in your area, they should be there.

I love this thread!! I had never been in this forum until I was coming here to ask the same question....I'm not sure if it is my sexy scorpion mentality or female curiosity that makes this topic so important for me to know...But thanks for the information, education, and humor!!

I believe PB stands for bell plantation. They are the makers of a powdered Peanut Butter which has way less fat and calories. Pretty good stuff that is if you like Peanut Butter.< /p>
Thank you for the info! Where can I find this product?

Did any of you try these mixers during preop?

This is horrible and I am sorry to hear that you had this experience. But you will find nothing but encouragement and support from fellow sleevers in this forum. Take the advice and use all the negative emotions you are currently feeling to get those pounds off and back on track to obtaining your ultimate goals!!. Good luck and God Bless!!

Hi! I'm Holly - sleeve surgery on 10/11/12 (cool date-huh?) with Dr Ahmad on Long Island , NY. Excited and scared! I'm on week 2 of low sugar/carb diet. I tried 2 shake samples from my nut. The plain was pretty good- added fresh strawberries (only 2-3). I had strawberry flavored one today - not half as good as the 1st one. I hurt myself last week (strained/pulled hip flexer/groin muscle-yes, woman can pull a groin muscle! Excrutiating pain!) Thank God I'm on my pre-op diet or I would have gained at least 5 pounds!
Welcome to 10-11-12 rebirth date..all the way from Dallas, TX.. Hope you recover soon from the strain/pulled muscle..

I am looking to hear from the senior sleevers to determine if it is possible to be approved for the sleeve with medicare coverage? and if so, What doctor they would recommend in the Dallas,TX area?

In my own personal opinion, J.Hudson lost the majority of her weight from the devastating lose of her mother and nephew!! She had alot of guilt on her conscience we that tragedy occurred!!

I went back and forth between Dr. Kim and Dr. Marsden...
Marsden - Great guy. Well respected surgeon, especially in the lap band world. Very very friendly and able to help me make a good decision on what was best for me. Call's often required next day call backs. Several promises were not kept by his staff. Only had done a dozen sleeves as of june'ish when i met him.
Kim - Not as much of a personable guy. Very well respected sleeve surgeon. Staff was great. Completed over 1,200 sleeves.
I chose Dr Kim, but doubt either would be a bad choice.
I as well have experienced both of doctors. I choose Dr Marsden intially because he performed my lap band in 2008, and i really did not have any reason to not let him do my sleeve procedure until I did more research and realized he did not have the number of sleeve procedure completed.
Dr. Kim's exceed over 500 revisions and 2000 sleeve procedures. I think it was indicated by another post earlier on that Dr. Marsden had only performed 30 sleeve procedures total. I think that everyone is entitled to their opinion and preference, but I just wanted to express my reason of going with Dr. Kim as well.
My experience with TR was it operated more like a lad band factory not really designed to really know the client and keep the client in mind of what procedure would be a good fit individually. It was my impression when I got the lap band back in 2008 compared to going to alternate doctor offices for consultations. TR wanted to sell the band and get as many individuals banded as they could. Please don't assume that I am selling an alternate doctor or putting Dr. Marsden office down it is just my experience that I wanted to share with you all...

I wish you luck as well. I hope that everything goes well. My doctor said it will be his intention to remove my band and then proceed with the sleeve but he will not know for certain until he open me up. I would love to have on surgery but if I have to wait then I will. This is a better time than ever to practice patience. Please keep me posted if you ended up with one surgery after 10 years of having the band. Thanks
