LivinADream got a reaction from Susan 2.0 in Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!
I was sleeved 10/10 as of today I am down 32 lbs! Only 6 lbs from 200...never thought I would ever see that day again. Now that I can eat pretty much anything Protein is so much easier to take in. Found that drinking with a straw is much easier to get my fluids in... had pains from the air. I am actually liking my self now and looking at myself in the mirror. People are really starting to notice the weight lose..especially the hubby
Keep up the great work everyone...we are on our way to sexiness!

I never drank with straws before, unless I was at a restaurant. Now I use them all of the time. It makes drinking a lot much easier for me. I don't seem to have any trouble with extra air.

LivinADream got a reaction from nerdyandfit in Its Happening Sooooo Quickly!
I have always struggled with weight! I always was the fat child that kids made fun of. When I graduated high school I weighed 140 lbs. Not big right ~ well kids thought I was FAT! Oh how I wish that I weighed that now...that is my goal after I am sleeved! Right before I got pregnant with my son I wieghed 179 and for me that was a nice size - was I happy with that yes but I knew that I could afford to lose some more..then I got pregnant and gained 42 lbs. Lost most of that weight after I had my son due to complications related to my c-section. I was able to maintain my weight at 200, which again I was NOT happy with. In 2010 I got pregnant with my daughter, only gained 24 lbs with her but never lost that and gained since I had her. I always wanted to have WLS but never thought that it was available to me. My best friend had the gastric bypass in 2009 and I asked her about the drs that she went to and her response to me was you are not fat! you do not need surgery! Yes, I do I need a tool to help me lose this weight that I have struggled with all my life! So she gave me the names and I called. July 18th I had my initial consultation with the WLS Center, came home talked to my husband and that is where my journey with WLS begins. I have great insurance and only requires me to have a pysch eval and a nutrician eval. No 6 mth diet no 3 pysch evals. I was soooo happy for that. Aug 8th I had my Initial consult with the dr. He was great told ne that I would be a great canidate for the sleeve. Yesterday I met for my surgery consult with the surgeon that will be doing my surgery OMG he was the best. There are 2 drs in the practice that I am going to and they are just soooo great! They dont make you feel fat! They dont look at you as a number they look at you as some one that they are gong to help get their life back and help them lose wieght with this tool. So this today I have my pysch eval and friday I have my hour visit with the nutricianist and then Monday they will be submitting my paper work to the insurance company for approval and they tell me that I should have an answer by next Friday. I can not believe that this is happening soooo fast!!!!! I sit and think how great it is going to be to be able to chase my daughter and to not be huffing and puffing walking to the ballfield to watch my son play baseball or to be sweating from every crack and creavise and roll at his games. (you know the extra sweat that we get)
So that is my WLS story...a friend referred me to this site and it has helped me so much with answers!
Sorry to ramble but I just cant beleive that this is really happening so EXCITED to be sleeved!

Jen, you will NOT lose EVERY week, at first YES, but after a while the scale will bounce up and down.... do NOT get discouraged!!! PLEASE TRY to weigh only one time a month..... you will have times you will NOT LOSE lbs! BUT you will lose inches...... Take your measurements... DO NOT WEIGH WEEKLY.... focus on your Protein, Water, and vitamins... work out when you can........... at the END you will reach your goal...stay focused....... stay away from sugar.... "snacks" the OLD FOODs... you will reach GOAL, YOU WILL FEEL HAPPY, SATISFIED.... but you MUST follow the rules.ROCK THAT SLEEVE~

After 3 weeks of being sleeved, especially if you have a lot to lose, start going to the gym IMMEDIATELY. You DON'T have to start cardio but you DHOULD start a weight training regimen. This will greatly assist in the saggy and loose skin problem. TRUST ME. As a trainer, one of my clients is 44 years old and weighed 402 lbs. He had the sleeve almost a year and change now and I realized after losing all that weight he has little to no loose or saggy skin... He weighs 202 right now and looks like a trainer himself.
I understand some drs may tell u to wait a little longer but three weeks is the best time to start! Even if it's light training every bit helps because your body will notice it before you do.

Hello to all, I'm new on here but not to weight loss and surgery as I had mine in 2005 and I have lost about 400lbs. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach as well as a Life Coach too. I see this site as a great connector to people and I have found that if you like to lose the excess skin without surgery under arms there's a few ways to do this. Also on the Belly and thighs there's some nice workouts that I do with people too. I'm on Facebook book if you like to friend me and also conect through here.
