  1. I like saurkraut, and have eaten it since banding with no problems. I've eaten it with sausage before tho and the sausage got stuck.
  2. Just some info, I was watching fox news this morning and they were talking about Pregorexia (Pregnant Anorexia) stemmed from Starlets who are obsessed with their body. They did throw some interesting info out there though.. An "Average" weight person should healthily gain 25-35lbs during pregnancy. If you are underweight-you should gain more. If you are overweight-you should gain less. They also said it's dangerous to try to 'diet' during this time, anything you neglect to give your baby while it is growing (Calcium for example) it will steal it from your body.
  3. Not jealous, but I am bitter about diets. My husband is only person who comes to my mind right now, it ends up none of my friends are overweight (how did that happen, I'm in the 2nd most obese state in the country??). He has gained 60lbs since I met him, and when I was looking into getting banded he kept saying he supported me, but thought I could do it on my own. It just takes willpower. So instead of a battle, I just said.. Well, I can't do it on my own because I DON'T have willpower. He never dieted before. A couple months ago he's getting self-conscious of his gained weight and said he wants to do Atkins and wanted me to tell him how. I told him the basics, and he said that sounds easy enough. I felt bitter in my mind, like.. yeah that's right, I hope it sucks for you, so you see it's not 'as easy as that' to diet. Like I had to validate why I got the band in this moment. It ended up happening, he went off the diet temporarily then kept prolonging starting it again, and I have a bad habit of making sure he realizes the error of his ways. I keep making off handed (sarcastic) comments about "But all it takes is willpower." And I guess one of my best friends from high school, we reconnected recently. She was one of those girls, when we were younger and went to the mall.. she'd shop in all those stores that had nothing I could wear.. I'd watch her try on bikinis, etc.. and she'd make comments about 'how fat' she is, in her size 4. I would always roll my eyes and point to my gut.. anyway, when we reconnected, she has gained a LOT of weight. She's like a size 22 now. I can't say I'm happy she gained weight, in fact I feel a little bad knowing that when she was a size 4 she complained about being fat.. but I feel like maybe she understands how I felt. It's weird that I am actually smaller than her. Ok I rambled more than I meant to, but I was trying to think if I feel the jealous thing.. not so much jealous, but I have bitterness.
  4. Gruene actually makes me more comfortable, I know I have to fly, but I remember how much it costs (so no surprises) and I get direct flights to & from..and the flights were only like 2 hours? Don't be a party pooper Pam!! TOOBIN IS FUN. When I went down river backwards and busted my ass (which lasted a good month or so after the trip), I still can't wait to do it again!! If Kat can do it, you can do it. And if Jane says she's actually going to attempt it again, NO ONE has an excuse not to do it.. Judy..Pam Tracy put on your mommy pants for the trip!
  5. Oh yeah, my confessions. I need to keep being accountable, it helped me out.. I slacked and yesterday..wow. I was losing again and then yesterday I pigged out.. Lunch I had 1/2 bowl of french onion soup... but then dinner, I made cheeseburger casserole (since Russell is back to low-carb) and I didn't like it.. it was beef, onion, cheese, and bacon.. I wanted to make creamed spinach or peas with it.. but Russell hates peas & spinach.. and I'm tired of green beans.. I hate eating low-carb, wish he'd just do low-calorie!! So.. hour later, I ate some ChickinNaBiskit (crackers I can't spell), an individual size bag of Funyuns, same with Cheetos.. then I had a bunch of whip cream.. and I like a hot chocolate every night (110c per serving) but I'm out of mix, so I looked up a recipe online and it's 300 calories!! Jeez.. it was good, but I'd prefer my normal mix.. so there's that, then some more whip cream with it. I ate another Funyun bag. Last night I felt like I was starving all night, I can only think to blame it on the fact I didn't eat a good meal with solids since I didn't like the casserole thing. I think I ate some other things in between, I was grazing all of last night. I'm afraid to weigh myself for a while. I need to get back on track!!!! Today so far, just water!
  6. Much like their name ^ the only band book I bought was Lap-Band for Life by Dr. Ortiz. Some people don't like it, but I did. I thought it had some good info, and I was able to read it in one day. I think I ended up giving it to another bandster..
  7. This mean you'd join us again on the tubes Janie??? I wouldn't mind SA/Gruene again
  8. When I was looking for a doc, I only found Dr. Fuccundus in the area and when I went to his office I was really turned off by them. On another thread someone was saying Dr. Malipur didn't believe in the band and didn't do bands, I'm not sure when he changed his mind- he said he does bands. When he met me in the ER he was asking who my fill doctor was, how much they charge, etc.. he wanted me to come to him, but I get my fills free so I wasn't swapping. I want to find out about your support group, I'd like to go to one but didn't know there were any around here (except Fuccundus' group, and I'm not going to anything associated with his group). Oh and I was banded 4/16/07.. Love it!
  9. Late June works for me.. I don't think I'll be going if it's somewhere out west, I really can't muster the courage to fly that far by myself. I'll just keep an ear out for what the plan turns into! Going to go read Tracy's e-mail. Denise, I saw you invited me to plaxo, I actually have an account through work, I don't know how to send invites, so I'm going to PM you my work e-mail so you can send me a friend invite.
  10. Welcome Juliana! I am in Huntsville (Madison), AL.. and was banded by Dr. Freeman in Anniston, AL. Dr. Mailapur is actually the doc the ER called once when I was there for something non-band related, but they wanted a band doctor there to supervise. He seems nice! Congrats on your success )
  11. SO- Significant Others I have gone to DC, I don't remember when we went, but make sure you allow plenty of time for the Smithsonian!! We only did 1 day and I think it would take a full week to go through it all.
  12. I am a bit disappointed.. I have worn 11W-WW since I guess I was 12. I normally wear flip flops year round, since they don't discriminate. For the first time since banding, I went shoe shopping 2 weeks ago. Down over 100lbs, and I heard others mention losing a size or two--or the width, etc. My feet LOOK skinnier to me, but in the store, 11W is still what I wear. 11's were too tight, and I couldn't get my foot into a 10W. What a bummer
  13. Hah glad this was bumped yet again, I got my update on it! At size 18 I was able to easily cross left leg over right no matter what chair I was in. At size 14 I can cross either leg, anywhere.. even sittin on the edge of a counter, etc. Wooflippinhoo!!
  14. My husband sent me this, I got a kick out of it. He thinks I should support the cause. He tries! GoTopless
  15. Not that I have been looking at websites (hehehe) but they said everyone's hormones show up differently, and some people can have a false negative up to a week after 1st day of missed period. And some people can be read as early as 7 days after ovulation (if you had the perfect timing, this would be about 2 weeks before period.)
  16. Well I lost lots of weight and having lots of sex.. We started trying only in July, so 1 failed attempt so far lol. I'm trying not to obsess about it, I am giving it a year before I go to the doctor for tests. Due to a pelvic kidney they wanted to do tests last year to make sure my tubes function right and whatever.. but I bailed on it, figured I'd try au natural first.
  17. Congratulations and welcome aboard!
  18. ((TracyKS)) hope everything works out!!
  19. "Inclusive" is a weird term. Our Jamaica trip was "all inclusive" but we still spent $800 on things at the resort
  20. One more post! June is good for me, but we need to get things decided soon so I can start paying for it. I am going to ABQ in May for a wedding and gotta get the bridesmaid dress, etc.. and then in July is our anniversary trip again. And if things were a perfect world I plan to be preggers by time we go on our next trip, so I gotta keep that in mind. Course, in the real world I won't be able to get preggers!
  21. Oh we're going to Tunica this weekend too.. woohoo! It's the trip my parents offered to pay us gambling money for helping them clean sister's house, and I also got a lot of free coupons from the casino's to play.. $800 worth. Love the things they send, and it seems everytime they send me coupons to play with, I always win on that money!! And I should mention it, since I have bitched about Russell and his video games, I think I've told you how often we fight about it. The last time we fought about it (3 weeks-ish ago), he finally listened...I gave him an ultimatum, he wasn't meeting my needs and I'm very needy.. He has not played or scheduled his events, etc since then. He has only spent maybe 4 hours total a week on it, where it use to be every waking minute. Very happy about that.
  22. Morning V's! June works for me, but can I suggest something like.. a beach? A beach with a bunch of girls would be a lot of fun.. and I'm still down with the cruise idea. Happy B'day Macy!! (Little V in progress!) Remember how I was in the hospital not too long ago with the false contraction things, and I ended up storming out? Well, it started again last night. Woke up in the middle of the night with severe cramping and painful diarhea. It was miserable, and I kept having nightmares to go with it..Russell said I woke up screaming NO! At some point.. I don't remember that one. But, since hospital was NO help and told me it had something to do with food poisoning, I am NOT going back. So I have taken immodium and pepto all morning.. if I don't move, I am fine.. if I walk, or bend, etc.. I am in a lot of pain. But, Russell said he's nauseated this morning, so I feel a little better.. it's not just me. I called my mom, since we had the cook out yesterday, apparently no one else is sick so she thinks we got something from Jamaica. I wouldn't be surprised, but I would have thought we'd be sick by food earlier than today! Luckily, we have to take our dog to the vet today so we're getting out of here early. I feel like I have a huge gas bubble stuck in my belly that causes my intestines to get displaced. Yummy stuff??
  23. And Judy, are you watching New York goes to Hollywood? I saw the first episode so far, it has intrigued me.. and it shows previews of her break up with Tailor Made on the show.. I read about it somewhere, and now I get to see it! Love drama, that's not my own
  24. Morning Ladies!! I never had to wear a Uniform, my brother did though (he was sent to a speshul school for bebe kids) and I gotta say I liked the look! I actually stole his sweater all the time lol. BUT in public school, sometime when I was around 5th grade, they required us to tuck shirts in.. I have always had a huge belly, I would cry to my mom about it. Women's shirts aren't meant to be tucked in most of the time anyway--and back then they didn't have cute young plus size, I was wearing older women's clothing.. think spandex pants & shirts that come down long to hide the fact you're wearing spandex pants..lots of sequins lol.. ugh, just thinking about this makes me cringe. Anyway, they would make me tuck in my shirt, and you can only imagine how hideous this looked. I was so mortified. Luckily by 8th grade we found girlfriends.com which was the first place we ever found plus size young girl styles (they were bought out by Alloy..which I still shop at). And then I moved districts for my first year of high school, so I got a fresh start with people who never saw me wearing the old women clothing. We have family cook out today, I have been thinking about that crab salad since I made . I am still a food obsessed person, the band just keeps me from following through. After all this thought, I'll probably eat a couple bites and be done for hours... speakin' of which though, I feel 'Full' this morning, so I finally made myself PB a little, to see what the heck is sitting in there.. it's chicken I made last night. CHICKEN IS EVIL! And it had a weird medicine taste, I'm guessing from the Prilosec. Thank you ladies for adding me to your facebook, if any more of you have it, add me!! And YES Pam, that was YOUR hat.. when we were in Gruene lol.
  25. I found some Copycat recipes I am trying for our cook out tomorrow. We're celebrating Russell & my cousins' birthday so I am making the Chocolate Lasagna from Olive Garden.. I dunno about you guys but I miss that dessert lol.. so I read some reviews and going with the best reviewed version. Also, while looking at Copycat recipes, found the immitation crabmeat salad they serve at buffet's like Golden Corral.. Was my fav., and we ate there once a week in ABQ.. since moving back, all buffets in my city are closed so no where to eat it.. I made it already, it said let it sit overnight, but I tasted it.. YUM. I'll probably skip on the main courses tomorrow and just eat this salad & lasagna hehe.
