  1. Morning V's. I barely lived through the tornadoes last night hah hah. DH and I took Nyquil around midnight and were OUT. We were under tornado watches till morning, but that happens sometimes and nothing comes out of it. At some point DH pokes me and says "La, get up". So I moan, go pee, and then see the clock.. 3:30am?! So I said "Why did you wake me up?!" and he goes 'your mom called, there's tornadoes'.. so I turn on the tv and they said "There's a tornado ON THE GROUND on Greenbriar road".. this road is about 1.5 miles from my house. So I'm scrambling, getting all the cats into their bathroom, put the dog in the laundry room, put on PJ's and tennis shoes, and then stood there listening to the sirens at my back door. It felt so nice yesterday, it was high 70's all day. Even at 3:30 last night. So Nyquil was kicking my butt, we sat there on the bed, listening for the projected path.. Eventually we both passed out again, after I said a prayer for our safety, and luckily God was listening because there were a few more tornadoes that night and we slept through them!!! This morning, scale said 245lb. I'm so sad. I am debating not stopping smoking. I can't handle the idea of gainin back this weight. Red Lobster.. I love a lot of food there. I got the seafood stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, had about 2 mushrooms and shared the rest. For my meal, I normally get something that mixes crab alfredo and a shrimp. But they have some cheap "Shrimp My Way" thing, so I got that instead. I have a hard time with boiled shrimp now, but I've had no problem with most of Red Lobster's shrimp.. I got the popcorn coconut shrimp bites that you dip in pina colada sauce(omg..) and shrimp scampi. They also have a lobster sauce topped mashed potatoes now. I got everything I wanted, and tried a little of it all, it was so wonderful. I like their clam strips, sea-salted baked potatoes, crab alfredo, and almost all of their shrimp. Now if only seafood reheated well in the microwave  Our Red Lobster is always busy, and DH is allergic, so my family rarely goes anymore and I can't get DH to go with me. So it's a special treat to me now. My brother just showed me pics of some weed farm he is investing in. I've never seen so much weed except for in the fake tv show Weeds. Stupid druggies.
  2. I love love love musicals! My first was when I was about 10- Cats. I have so many that I've seen from when they travel.. I loved Sunset Blvd., Chicago, RENT, Annie, Jesus Christ Superstar. Next week I'm seeing my very first broadway.. ON BROADWAY. I'm going to see Wicked, which I hear is good. What's your favorite broadway?

No thanks on the Mexico part I'll stick to the tubing and tequila on US Soil.
  4. Cool- just to address your grieving of losing the nummy breads.. hehe.. I was able to have breads for about 5 months post-op until I got a successful fill. I do love me some appetizer breads. I don't miss it so much, 80% of the time I make the conscious choice "No, I won't eat it", and I don't and I forget about it and I don't get sad hehe. Then 20% of the time, I can't resists, and I try the tiniest of bites, and the band punishes me.. and I have to run to the restaurant's bathroom and spit it up. So hopefully when you have self-sabotaging moments, the band will be there to smack you upside the head
  5. Same thing happened to me, in a month or so you'll have a bounce back in your step.
  6. The original post is from May 2007..
  7. I am 6'0.. Started 333lbs, busting out of 26/28's jeans (and not sure where to go next!), and 4-5x tops. Currently 241lbs, wear 16/18 Jeans, and XL-1x Tops. Goal.. 180lb, and maybe 12 jeans, Large tops..not sure.
  8. I try everything once.. sometimes up to 10x's (damn bread). Before my first successful fill, I could eat 1/2-3/4 of 1 pancake from Cracker Barrell. Now, one bite is doom. C'est la vie.
  9. The first 3 months my sex drive was outrageous. But I had to go off of my birth control for surgery, and I have come to realize I think B/C for me is an anti-sex. Heh heh. Since being back on my B/C sex drive died down again.
  10. Madison Square Mall actually has a lot of group couch set ups now in the food court area (next to Starbucks). Skinny Latte anyone? I'll be the 'leader' in the sense I can get it scheduled if you guys are interested, doesn't take a whole lot to do that hah hah. MSM sound good for everyone?
  11. Short & simple look at it like this.. That's 2 videos of Lap Band negative stories. I know at least 50 (and that's a modest number) of people here on Lapband Talk Forum, who could create a UTube video and post of the wonderful side of the lap-band. It doesn't work for everyone, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. I'm still watching the first video.. just something I noticed, sounds like the girl was way too tight. Said it was excruciating to drink Water before 3pm. She couldn't eat meat, veggies, or fruit for 7 years.. Shame on her doctor.
  12. Aw how sweet, yay Tessa. I use to like Rosie back in the days of pre-gay (although my dislike for her now has nothing to do with the gayness). But then she turned crazy, and now I follow her because of the train-wreck factor. I watched that cruise documentary thing she had, and even read her book Celebrity Detox. It's really quite sad, and I feel bad for her. Especially after reading her book, she really has some issues.
  13. Eating banded to me, is eating just like I did before (when it comes to cooking recipes), but in way smaller portions. Some online recipe places let you place in a custom serving size and it adjusts all the measurements accordingly.
  14. There actually are good solid proteins that are high protein. Those small cans of canned chicken/ham/turkey (some are Hormel brand), are like 120 calories for the entire can, and 23g of protein. I can eat the whole can as a meal (I flake it, heat it up, then mix it with a small amount something wet like Mayo, cranberry sauce, or apple sauce). It's a good way to boost protein for me!
  15. I just had a real estate customer coming in wanting info on flyer costs.. and my mom put a "Birthday Bitch" party hat on me this morning, its all glittery and loud.. I put it on my radio.. and I forgot about it. DOH. DH went home.. cancelled our dinner reservations. I went and told my co-worker friend that got me sick "Thanks for ruinin my b'day.. you got me sick, so I got him sick! NEXT TIME STAY HOME!!" and she goes "Don't be a birthday bitch.. I'll take you out to dinner!" and I was like "You gonna give me my birthday sex too?" hah. Since DH had to cancel, it's gonna be ladies night in my fam, and we're goin to.. RED LOBSTER. Num num, I love that place and get to go too few.
  16. Haydee you look great, you're so pretty and I love your hair!!
  17. I guess I'm afraid cause I saw a co-worker balloon up from stoppin... and my mom gained 25lb when she quit, and has never lost that weight. She's been 'dieting' for years to lose it. So I'm afraid I'm going to not only stop my steady decline with the band, but GAIN, and then some reason never lose again Going into this, I said I'd be strong and I wouldn't eat to make up for smoking. But damn if I can help it.
  18. Thank you Judy, that cracked me up!
  19. I was out of control with binge eating the junk food that goes down (this is unlike me!!!) yesterday, and I think it has to do with my stopping smoking. I felt like I had to be eating every waking minute. I don't normally feel this way!! For those of you who quit, what do you do to keep from gaining weight during this period? Yeah, if I stop binge eating junk it'll help, but I don't have the will power, I gotta replace it with something.. I feel like I'm starving 24/7.
  20. LOL Kat!! What mailing lists are you guys on? DH is more sick today, he's moaning and said he thought he was gonna pass out, but wouldn't stay home from work. But I am thinkin' my b'day dinner is going to be put on hold. Jennifur what happened with the job thing yesterday? I'm sorry about your Gram, but glad that she's in God company now! The over-eating to compensate for no smokes set in yesterday. I swear I HAD to be eating something all day long yesterday. I tried to have self-control, I commanded myself to STOP and control.. but it didn't work :cake: This is the worst food day I've had since banding I think. Woke up.. was hungry as soon as I got to work (unusual), so we went to lunch, I got an egg roll and eggdrop Soup, both tasted nasty (use to be my fav) so I guess tastes are changing already? WAAAH. I ate 2 bites of roll, and 2 bites of soup. Then we got back to work, still hungry.. got chili fritos & reese cups from the vending machine.. and I never eat from the vending machine. I ate it all. Reese's didn't taste right, but didn't stop me from whaffing them down. As soon as I got home from work, I made the duck and homemade garlic mashed potatoes. Ate it ALL. Immediately after, I had a frozen fruit chiller thing. Then immediately after that.. about 12 oreos. That's right, TWELVE OREOS!!!!! Then I ate some ranch ritz chips.. and then a few more oreos. Then I was almost in tears at my lack of control and binging ways, so I took a nyquil and passed out. I told DH and he just says "So, don't do it". GRR! If it was that easy.. So I have this need to be eating something all the time right now. Veggies would fill my pouch up, but don't have veggies at work or at home right now (not the kind you can snack on)..and I need relief now. I am going to try so hard to avoid the vending machine today.
  21. And just so I can point this out.. NSV.. I could never wear women's bracelets or watches, the entire part of my life that I would ever want to. It was Dec. that I realized I could, so for the first time in my life I wanted somethin snazzy on my wrist!! It's 7", and it's SNUG, but it does close and it's not cutting of circulation lol. I think 1/8" more would be better, but I'm confident I'll lose just a little bit more wrist in the next 60lbs, so it'll fit perfectly soon. I made DUCK tonight for dinner. Finally found some at the Publix down the road. I was nervous, didn't smell so hot when cooking. But me and DH both really liked it, I'll be making duck again!!
  22. Gina you look fantastic!!!! Judy- Funny you said that, my mom actually has STRICT orders that if she's ever in the hospital from a coma or something, we have to pluck some chin hairs of hers.. she said my dad's never seen them and it would kill her lol. And under-eye concealer. Kat- Thank you for the card!! It was so beautiful, and what's interesting is that fairy artist is actually one I collect! I have several art books of hers, posters, and I even collect her greeting cards.. and I've never seen the one you gave me, so that's awesome!!!! You girls are so sweet DH is getting sick, I knew it would happen. I decided I have the flu, and you can't avoid the flu!! He feels like poo tonight, I said.. wait till tomorrow. I thought I felt bad Wed. when I went home from work early, by Thurs I thought I was gonna die!! But look what he got me for my b'day :wink2: It's a sapphire & diamond bracelet. I love it! And my attention whore (I use this literally) cat thought my hand pose was an invitation for loving.
  23. I think there is something weird about that. Both my dead g'father figures.. first one had strokes, was in the hospital, everyone was there for days.. then everyone left for just a little while and he had another stroke and died. Then the other one, he had a heart attack, in the hospital he was in a coma, so everyone was there hoping he'd pull through. When everyone left for dinner, he died. And I think maybe Jennifer is busy with gma?
  24. I like sooo much food, I don't know how to pick a favorite. German Restaurant near work.. Started with a fancy cheese plate w/fruit... then Veal Schnitzle (sp) with Hunter's Gravy and pan fried potatoes.. and german chocolate cake.. NUM NUM NUM  Red Lobster.. Any of the "Feasts", and sometimes a side of crab legs DH is taking me out to a fancy dinner tomorrow night for my b'day and we were talkin about where to go. He picked somewhere SUPER fancy and SUPER expensive, and frankly the one time we went before, we said we wouldn't go back... it's like 3oz of food for $80. I tried to talk him out of it, I still don't understand why he insists.. but now the 3oz will fill me up

I was addicted to Mt. Dew, and even with diets in the past, I would figure out a way to incorporate it. When I made up my mind for surgery, it moved very fast (self-pay). I decided at one of my consults, I would give up Mt. Dew THAT DAY and see if I have what it takes to be banded. If I couldn't give it up, no need to waste my money.. not only the stretchin of the pouch, but the calories. If I am to eat less than 1k calories in a day, I would easily spend it all on Mt. Dew. And diet doesn't cut it for me. So I gave it up cold turkey, I did get headaches. And I don't miss it. I do occasionally have carbonated drinks now, normally a shirley temple or some ginger ale. I have sipped on a Mt. Dew once (in a desperate situation, I was hoping not to have to taste it so I don't 'relapse' heh).. and it wasn't good. I prefer ginger ale for my special treat now. Anyway, it's best to give it up now. Make it a treat.
