My port flipped at 3mths out, I continued to lose.
No fill at orginal LBS. 6wks post op 2cc, 4 wks later port is flipped no fill. Revision surgery and another 6wks until a fill. 4wks after that another fill and finally restriction.
During this whole process, I continued to lose weight by sticking to my surgeons instructions. It was another diet for a long while, but the band does work.

Really it's a piece of diet cake. My daughter and nurse said " you look pretty good for someone who has just come out of surgery".
You don't get those terrible gas pains like with the LB.

You look great.. having those times with your kids is so important and they grow up so fast.. My "baby" is 40 and thankfully my grandkids and I do alot together so keep on doing what you do it's worth it...

Thanks everyone! It was a great day indeed. It felt soooo good to be a part of the fun, not put on a happy face and be hurting or sad inside, and have the endurance to walk the park all day.

That is awesome...honestly that is exactly one of my goals...i have a 3 and 6 year old....going to disney soon and dreading it a bit hoping i can ride everything with them...nothing will make me sadder that if i can't!

dont hate me for what i am about to write
i write it because i care
if you eat more calories than your gonna burn off, you will gain...so dont..eat your band allotted amount..focus on lean protein, fruit and veggies, get out of the processed/fast foods...drink alot of water/crystal light and get on with it....so you cant access your port...dont use that excuse as a reason to gain weight..the band is there, working fill or not..i have no fills but i am cautious of my food intake....some call it a diet, i dont care...
i call it doing what i have to do to make it work
and so can you, if you want.

Great job, it could have been oh so much worse.

i def use your thoughts/wise words to guide me through this life long journey that i am currently on. and in discussing all issues with you, and reading alot of issues on this forum with being too tight, i am on the side of being loosey goosey when i ever do start getting fills.
you made some excellent points, (aka the slider as it is easier to eat) and it makes perfect sense..thank you for sharing. you being a success that you are, needs to blog more and help/encourage those who need it

Jean's statement is closer to fair, being statistics show weight gain after band removal.
I hope and pray your lifestyle change does stick. I'd like to think that also.

You might want to rethink putting your band back in the box after you've lost weight. People who lose weight and have their band removed (for whatever reason) are very likely to regain all that weight. That's mostly because obesity is a chronic,. incurable disease.
