  1. I have the "subtle" ache in the shoulder, though it isn't "subtle", it hurts like hello. Sometimes I sigh too. With the shoulder pain, I have def got to stop.
  2. I love going to the mall and just sitting on a bench ppl watching. First thought that comes to mind " what were they thinking".lol bayougirl, did you happen to see the girl here that posted a naked picture of herself as a profile picture? Yikes, "what was she thinking". Couple of us wanted to start drinking to get that image out of our heads.
  3. I watched that show. They talked about everything we talk about here. They even talked about ppl think WLS is taking the "easy way out". We need our own reality show! lol
  4. Congratulations! That is awesome! Can't wait to join you.
  5. I am so honored that your first post was to praise me. Thank you so much! I mainly posted b/c I wanted to thank everyone here for educating me in the way to be successful with my band. I know without a doubt that without their help, I would be struggling. So let me welcome you to the forum. I hope you post often so we get to know you. As I said, you will find a lot of support, knowledge and inspiration here. My Drs office stressed how important it was to join a support group and I really wasn't happy with the few ppl that showed up at their meetings, but I feel the support I get here is so much better and I hope you'll feel that way too. Thank you again for your support!

Glad you're seeing your Dr tomorrow. Good Luck! Keep us posted.
  7. Work it girlfriend! Funny thing is I did the same thing with my husband. His secretary wants to have LBS since she found out our insurance will cover it. My husband went and told her she couldn't b/c she couldn't take that much time off.lol I went and had a talk with her and explained that I was playing it up. Really he only missed the first night of dinner, but I made him carry all the groceries and laundry (after I did it), poor baby suffered so. LMAO
  8. Sounds like your full sign. That's how my shoulder is,as soon as I stop eating it goes away.
  9. I found that at the beginning of my second week, I felt great physically, but would need a nap. It is b/c your body is still healing and that too did not last but a couple of days. Hang in there!
  10. All things are possible, only believe. God is happy, when you are happy
  11. Prayers for your success!
  12. Like Missy says, until you get adequate fills, it's just another diet. I'm right there with you. I've had one fill and hopefully getting another next week. Hang in there, once you get enough fills the band will help you along, but it does take time.
  13. Don't feel stupid, you haven't done anything wrong. The pain in your back could be just gas, or maybe it is a sign that you've had enough to eat. The band pushes on different nerves . So do you get this pain while eating or long after you've eaten? My Dr told me that the pain would be in my chest. I have the nerve that shoots up into my shoulder, when I've had enough to eat and with the first twinge of pain, you do not want to eat one more bite. It's very painful. I haven't got restriction yet and still get the stop eating sign. You should call your Dr and discuss this with him to make sure on whats going on. I'm only guessing!
  14. Missy is right! Live and learn. We didn't want to make you cry, but this is serious stuff. We all want nothing more than have you succeed in regaining your health. Please next time temptation strikes, come on the boards and let us talk you down.
  15. All insurances are different. I have Aetna and they are more than happy to pay for mental health issues. Even before I thought about LBS, Aetna was sending notices couple times a year, that if you had any problems at all they will find you someone. My husband does work for a Fortune 500 Company and maybe that makes the difference.
  16. Every day you'll feel a little better, by one week you should feel pretty darn good.
  17. You asked for it.... Do you know making your stomach churn to digest that food can make the stitches tear? You tear your stitches and the band can slip out of place. Your Dr gave you a diet to follow for a reason, not to punish you. No, you probably don't have any restriction. Right now it is just another diet. I'm 3mths out and do not have restriction either, so I do know what its like. But I want health right now, more than food. I work through being hungry by keeping myself occupied with other things. Today I put up a glass tile back splash in my bathroom, didn't get hungry. Most likely you haven't hurt anything yet, but to succeed, you have to follow the rules. Everyone remember, she asked for it. Not being rude or unsupportive, just telling it like it is.
  18. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery and much success. Keep us posted.
  19. That's the right attitude, you go girl!
  20. Congratulations! Of course your emotions are going haywire right now, you're human. I think its safe to say, that we all felt that way waiting our turn. Just try to focus on a new healthier you. This is going to be an amazing journey for you.
  21. BTW, that is what I'm doing and it seems to be working. I know the band living is to allow you to eat whatever, just less of it. But eating totally healthy is working for me now, so thats what I'm doing. Maybe after I hit green zone, I can add somethings back, but until then, no thank you.
  22. I read this thread and everyone's idea's were interesting, but no one offered any scientific data to back up the theory. In the past I have read things about the hypothalamus (brains thermastat) . What I read was by avoiding white sugar and white flour can reset the thermastat to increase your fat burning metabolism. You're encourage to eat whole grains and very, very little sugars. I believe this to be true and believe the healthcare professionals have jumped on this theory. So eating whole foods is the way to go. Any ways that's what I know and my opinion.
  23. My first fill went fine, one poke and 3cc. Second attempt 10 pokes, no go, went to xray and port was flipped completely over. Dr tried manually turning it back, but wouldn't budge. As long as it's just tipped, you should be fine. Even with this bump in the road, I'd do it again.
  24. I kid you not, I had to answer 100's of questions, but not all therapist do that. Mainly they make sure you know what you're getting yourself into with the LB and to make sure you have no problems that will work against the band working. They asked things like "do you drink alcohol or drugs to face the day", things like that.
  25. If you gulped the whole oz down in one swallow, yes that would be a little painful. For 3 days after banding I could only do 1oz every 15mins sipping it. It does get better quickly. Congratulations fellow bandster! Be sure to follow all your Drs orders.
