Need Explanation...
After fills you can have some swelling, thats why the liquid for two days. Sounds like you had a mild stuck, which can cause a little extra swelling too. Most the time if you try to push a stuck threw with liquid, it can get very painful and you have a PB (productive burp, or like a spit up). You most definitely want to stick with liquids for a few days. No harm, no foul!

Tiny Dishes, Scales, and Portion Control
In the beginning, I did it all. Had my measuring cups& spoons, used salad plate and custard bowls. I even ate off of baby utensils. Portion control is the one of the most important aspects of WLS, along with healthy food choices and Water, lots a lots a water. Best wishes on your journey!

A New Day
You mean, not buying I want so much to be overweight? I so do. I have been morbidly obese for most of my adult life, now just obese (hate that word), now looking so forward to being over weight. Thank you for the "looking good"! I owe everyone here many thanks.

Surgery - Never Had Before
LOL, my favorite part too. I've had so many surgeries and always enjoy the knocking out part. My LBS and Hysterectomy was the only time I had to deal with gas and yes, the best thing to do is just walk.

Done! I am officially banded!
Congratulations fellow bandster! Your experience sounds about like mine. Remember to walk as much as possible and sip your fluids.

A New Day
Thank you, the last fill really helped. I was able to take off 7 lbs in a month. It had been that much in 3mths. I was beginning to think that I was as far as I was going to go.

Is this what being stuck feels like
BTW, a true stuck hurts like you're having a heart attack, you start having to spit out a thick saliva aka slime. I find that walking around during a stuck does help. Whatever you do, do not try to wash down a stuck with Water.Pain will intensify.

Is this what being stuck feels like
Sounds like you over filled yourself. You could still be swollen.

If I can do it, so can you!
Missy, I have been following you for over a year now. 7mths before even being band, I was picking your brain. Post op 8mths now, still following you. You are an excellent source of inspiration, a great teacher and faithful friend. Good or bad, you have been here helping others. I applaud you! You are so right about stress. No one will get through their life without having to deal with it. No excuses, just do it. Again, I applaud you!!!!

A New Day
Oh jeez, now I'm worried Michele knocked herself out. I'm going to believe she is busy with studies, work and family. When could she possibly have time to knock herself out.... I'm so proud of you, Dawn. You will be in the 100's by your Bandiversary. Your dog will thank you. Sorry, but I was never into chasing a white ball around acres and acres of property. Maybe if there was a chocolate cupcake at every hole, I could do it, or jumping hills in the golf cart. Matter of fact, Paula has a friend who sells golf carts and we made a delivery to her shop. They had a really cool cart that looked like a monster truck, that I could do.

low carb yougrt with a lot of protein?
Key lime is to die for... I eat all kinds of FF Greek Plain yogurt, FAGE, mixed into chili, Peanut Butter and no cal sweetner, yummy. FF vanilla greek yogurt really really good too. Yogurt is my go to dessert and additive and to think I hated yogurt before banding.

A New Day
Its always nice just to know everyone is ok, hint hint Nicole& C twins.... I'll presume Carole is right "no news is good news". Dee, Glad your computer cooperated and we heard from you. I think if you discuss with your Dr whats going on, between the two of you, a great decision will be made. Good luck! Last few days, I have been craving salty, which is weird for me. A big storm is coming in. Sun shining in backyard and pitch black in front yard with thunder. Terri, hope your golf game turns out better than you are expecting. Isn't hot on golf course? Di, Have a good time with grandkids. Carole, I'm with you, lumber shopping does not need me to be there.lol A copper sink sounds beautiful, can't wait. Back to quilting...

The Clean Plate Club
My starving kids came from India.... My father also worked at a huge bakery that made things for grocery stores. He brought something home every night and you couldn't have any, unless you cleaned your plate. I guess thats where my addiction to chocolate cake came from. Thanks for the tips. I am going to incorporate them all, especially putting half my serving on my plate and then going back for more. I practically have trouble with, its just one bite left..... Once again, thanks for your humor and wisdom.

How Many Fills Before Green Zone
I was banded Oct 2012 and it took 4 fills.Last fill was the end of May. I had to have port revision at 3mths out, so that delayed my fills for an added 6wks. Also no fill at time off LBS. It takes a while, but it's worth the wait. You're doing great. Hang in there!

Going to be flying to Pensacola. My husband came in under budget and we get a free trip .LOL I can't wait to see The Gulf of Mexico. We have to fly to Atlanta first and then back to Florida. $550 is kinda expensive for lunch. LOL Need to go to bed too, never did get that nap this morning.

A New Day
I just noticed, that I cleaned my room for the kids so well, I can't find my list of our info. It's always been on my desk and now that its clean, I can't find it. Sure hope I can find it on my computer somewhere..... I got a great deal accomplished on my quilt today. Picture will be coming shortly. Here's a picture of Jack & Delaney. Every Wednesday night Jack & Paula pick up a pizza and go to the jetty's for dinner. They caught the kids in the right light.

A New Day
Carole, glad to hear you had a good night. These bands are crazy, tight one minute and loose the next. Sometimes I am tight all day and start thinking maybe I'm too tight and then the next day I can eat steak just fine. Wish my fills were with fluro. I just got my bill from last visit to Dr. $383. Office consult and $150. Gastric Band Adj., wicked. Lucky I only have to pay a $35 co pay, which I paid and now their sending me a bill for $35. I thought computers were suppose to keep things straight.lol Di, I'm so sorry about your ring. I'm putting out a special prayer for it to be found. I've always had the jeweler put ring guards on all my rings. They're really cheap. That's another thing that's tight in the morning, my rings. After I'm up for a while they become loose as a goose.. Lord, Lord Please let Di find her daddys ring! I have my dads pocket knife and it means the world to me. He was an auto mechanic and when we would visit, he always got out his knife and cleaned the oil from under his finger nails. LOL I can still remember the smell of my dad, motor oil. When he died I not only lost the most honorable person I know, but the best mechanic any where. Carole, that's where I get my mechanical capabilities. LOL

How to sleep?
I had no problem sleeping in my bed. The trick is crawling in on your hands and knees (after hysterectomy was taught this). I slept on side with a pillow around my stomach for support. When you get out of bed, roll out. Only time I slept in refliner was after taking pain meds and just happen to fall asleep, the couch would have worked too.lol
-
A drink I saw someone have at support meeting tonight, wow
LOL, I don't take your post as mean at all. I agree with you. I think we tend to know, but not care. We were among the common "it won't happen to me" club."We're gonna die from something, why not enjoy ourselves". When it comes to WLS, I would think that most of us were made to attend nutrition classes and even if we didn't, I'm sure surgeon warned against empty calories and high calorie foods and drinks. It is amazing, when you go as far as surgery and still want to hang on to unhealthy choices. I'm not saying, not have a treat once in awhile, but not to make bad choices a habit.
