  1. Oh Amytug finally I am so happy for you. Look forward to see how you do on the losers bench! All the best! Say Hello to Meli, Dr Garcia and Rosi they are the best!!
  2. Pasta, bread and rice are filler foods. Even though this pasta might better for you, based on the quantity that you can eat; is it really worth it? Unless you are near goal I say no, wait.
  3. I still eat the same as I did at 4 months. I weight 2 ounces of protein, I eat half a cup of yogurt or cottage cheese, quarter cup veggies. I normally eat 3 meals a day and two snacks. Snacks can be a cheese string, turkey pepperoni or one of the new high protein high fiber quaker oats bars. So per meal it's 2 or three ounces.
  4. Thank you Ms Skinniness, coming from you I really aprreciate your comment. I have followed alot of your posts on here and really admire how you speak and what you have to say. Thanks again.
  5. Here's the thing when I first started the VSG journey I though, "Oh just to be under 200 say 195 pounds". I quickly changed my mind and thought lets go all out and shoot for 180 pounds which for me thought would be a good weight. So here I am, very little body fat and according to my plastic surgeon, not enough. I could care less about BMI. I have very little fat left and am mostly bones and hanging skin. To each his own but for me this weight and size is perfect! I don't need to be a size 6.
  6. I too did not have gas pains but the gas came out. I remember burping waking up in the recovery room. Burping was my way of expelling it, thank God!! Well wishes for your surgery and successful weight loss!!
  7. Here I am 6 months less a day and this morning I have reached my goal weight. My story is I had a revision on September 10, 2012 with Dr Fernando Garcia in Tijuana Mexico. Fabulous surgeon and the absolute best decision I could have made. I lost 60 pounds the first 4 months and now to date have lost 77.8 pounds. I would like to provide some information to help those who would like to read on. I followed my eatinfg plan to a "T" as I was serious about being a success and reaching my goal. 1. To those who say, "it is not a diet". It may well not be but here is the but: you need to change your eating habits; I have read so many posts from those who still continue to chose poorly as in high calorie, non-nutrient dense foods. Most recently the post from the Gal 4 weeks out eating garlic bread with cheese and dipping sauce. Put yourself first and make sure you put some thought into your food choices first. 2. Make the most of your first 6 months. I really can only eat a couple ounces more at this stage but it maybe that going forward this will change. You have come into this for weight loss so again make the most of this time. 3. As for what you eat go low carb high protein. You can incorporate more fruit possibly healthy grains as time goes on. Initially you are learning new eating habits so in 6 months you will be able to chose healthy nutrient dense carbs that make sense. I have not consumed bread, rice or pasta and am not sure if or when I will. I make sure that what I eat is really beneficial for me as I can only consume so little. Protein, little veggie is my diet including yogurt. 4. Mix up your caloric intake every few days; I found that this really helped to keep my weight loss moving and my success. So statically I am 5' 10", weight 180 pounds, wear a size 8-10 and a medium size top. Size normal here I am and loving it!!!!!
  8. I had my surgery last September and did one week clear liquids, then full liquids, then pureed, then soft, then full. It is recommended that you progress as you feel meaning if your week is up for pureed but you don't feel ready yet then wait a couple of days.
  9. Well thank you for sharing your story and I have great news! I too had a revision on September 10, 2012, with Dr Fernando Garcia and am now .6 pounds away from my goal weight. I lost 60 pounds in the first 4 months and now have lost 77.2 pounds. You will not reget having this surgery and Dr Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon. I had my band for 5 years and from what I understand he had no issues with my surgery. I now have a $16,000.00 souvenier lapband. You are making the best decision. All the best.
  10. Interesting that you mention this because I too have most recently had this pain. Mine normally happens from sitting. This is odd isn't it?
  11. I went with ready4achange and doctor Garcia and it was fantastic. Mexico has highly skilled surgeons and it is worth the minimal cost to go to Tijuana. You can't go wrong.
  12. I have never vomited with the sleeve in the six months I have been sleeved. It is very different than the band. As another poster said with the band I could literally just bend over and vomit. Don't over eat or eat too fast and you should be fine.
  13. That's right it is carbonated and sleevers should not have carbonated beverages.
  14. Tip the driver if you wish and no sorry no underpants you have to go commando! Texting cost me .75 cents a text but phoning was ridiculously expensive. Of course you will wake after surgery, no worries, best wishes!!
  15. OMG Grammy did you make me laugh! Thank you!! Thank you to everyone for their well wishes.
  16. Tijuana Mexico has alot of very competent plastic surgeons. Worth looking into.
  17. I am 6 days shy of my 6 month anniversary. I also am .6 pounds away from my goal weight. I have been very successful with my VSG. I find it very hard to increase my food intake as I just can't fit more in. I probably hover around 700-800 max. If I tried for 1000 I would be stuffing myself. Right now I like it this way. I followed my eating plan to a "T" these past months and had very little "cheat foods". This is what has made me successful and I am glad that I could do it in 6 months. When I read posts of those "cheating" in their first few months, I truly feel sorry for those and will bet that these sleevers will NOT meet their goal weights because they have not used their tool to its' ability. Once you start back into bad eating habits so early on you haven't really learned the healthy ones. Make the most of the first 6 months to lose as much as you can, learn life long good eating habits and transform your life for good.
  18. Really this doesn't seem possible. What are you eating? Did you lose more but gain it back? The sleeve is just a tool for weight loss you need to put in the effort to be successful.
  19. Absolutely fantastic weight loss since December, you should be proud!!
  20. So this morning stood on the scale and I am .6 pounds away from my goal weight. I absolutely can not believe it!! I feel like I am in a dream..............but no wait I am awake and this is really happening! I LOVE my sleeve the best thing I could have done for myself. I basically lost 60 pounds in 4 months, am now at 77.2 pounds lost and 6 days away from the 6 month mark!! Know that we all will do this, can do this! Never thought I would reach this weight ever!! WOOHOO!! I am Superwoman!!!
  21. Shedding mouth does not sound like it has anything to do with VSG. I would definitely talk to your doctor about this. Best wishes.
  22. You are eating too fast and too much. SLOW down put your spoon/ fork down after every bite. You have to measure out all the food you eat. Start with a quarter cup of food first. Your tummy is healing right now and the nerves are not all back to normal. You could do yourself harm by eating so much, be careful. Good Luck
  23. Well you look absolutely fantastic!! Loose skin? You have no loose skin, you are very lucky and should realize this.
  24. After paying $16,000.00 for the band and only $5500.00 for my revision the answer seemed so simple.
