  1. Does anyone know how to do this? I previously had sleeve surgery and still am a "sleeve believer" however I would like to change it to something else.
  2. You can go ahead and order, we enabled the sale when the post went.
  3. Well I am just over 12 weeks out. It depends on what I am eating and what time of day. Breakfast is one egg and 1/4 cup of tuna and I can eat half then 1 hour later the other half. Lunch I can have 1/2 cup yogurt with protein powder and I am comfortably full. Dinner is normally 3.5 ounces of protein(chicken, fish) and about 2 tablespoons of veggies. No way could I do one cup of anything right now not even creamy soup!

24 days and can barely sit or stand

This does not sound normal. Did you have this problem before surgery? Does the amount that you weigh impede you from standing for long or walking? Did you have open or laparoscopic surgery? It can take weeks to recover and get your energy back(took me about 8 weeks) everyone is different but your symptoms seem odd. Oh do you take a PPI? I am still taking one a day(just over 12 weeks out) and some days I feel slightly nauseous but not enough to vomit.

    Meal ideas

During the pureed stage you should be having soft foods, be careful of ground meats or any meats even though you can puree them they can be hard to digest. Stick with canned meats, soft fishes, tuna, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs(love eggs eat one very day!). yogurt and of course your protein drink. What I have been having now everyday for lunch is 1/2 cup yogurt with a scoop of protein powder, delicious! Careful trying to consume veggies at this point as you probably are still trying to fit in all of your protien which at this stage is the most important. FYI: ricotta is not very high in protein per serving size I would substitute cottage cheese.
  6. You really should consider surgery in Mexico. They have excellent surgeons who have performed thousands of surgeries. The program here through Bariatric Pal also offers 2 years nutritrional support, facebook access to my surgeon, email/phone to any coordinator and well they are fantastic. The best part is the price probably one fourth the price in the U.S. If you would like more information please contact me. I have had two procedures in Mexico done by two different amazing surgeons. I would highly recommend.

    Abdominal flutters on left side

Your left side is where your stomach is. At 11 days out your stomach is healing and can do some weird things. I wouldn't worry unless you have pain with it.

    Bowel movement issue. Please help

What do you want to do? If you don't want to wait any longer get a stool softener.
  9. Here is the thing; if you graciously decline there will be 100 successful "losers" behind you who will say YES. He wants you to post your picture to promote "his" business. You have had great success; don't let that be connected at all to owing your Doc anything by posting. I too am a very private person and would never put my picture on facebook; the entire WORLD has access to your pictures, this freaks me out!! Congratulations you deserve it!!

    From Sleeve to Gastric...

I am truly sorry to hear of the terrible situation you have had to endure. Some of us; including myself, take it for granted when our surgeries are smooth sailing and we have no complications. I will pray for you to have a quick painless recovery and success with the GB going forward.

    Chia Seeds

Hi Natalie, At 10.5 weeks out can we have chia seeds? Ground or whole? Also how many grams of protein should we be getting a day? Regards, Donna

    Vegetables?

Cauliflower if delicious pureed! I think I tried at 8 weeks out. I also have pureed broccoli at about the same time.

    Chia Seeds

Thanks Natalie, My protein is in check and I have tried chia seeds both ways. Soaked seem to be easier on the digestion but ground is easier to use just put in your shake and go!

    3 months after surgery

I think the internet can be your source of great information for your food plan. Google the different phases 1,2,3,4 and you will probably find all sorts of menus that you can follow. A few things you should follow: protein at each meal/snack minimum 60 grams protein(.36 grams per pound of body weight is a true requirement) drink, drink and drink water all day long! watch liquid calories(cream in coffee, high calorie protein shakes) I am trying to have 3 meals and only one snack a day. I am 10.5 weeks out from GB. I consume between 60-90 grams of protein a day.

Any ideas for protein packed veggies?

Here is a list I found on the web: Asparagus Cauliflower Broccoli Brussel Sprouts Peas Spinach Artichoke Watercress Sweet corn Avacado

    Ice cream?

Now I certainly don't want to sound critical but unfortunately this may come across this way. I noticed that a lot of your posts are about food, some good choices and some being cravings. You haven't update your information so again can only guess you had sleeve? and you are only what 4 weeks out? I am 10 weeks and can barely eat the required foods that I need to be eating never mind having ANY kind of craving. My point is this just head hunger cravings you are having? If they are real have you analyzed why you are thinking of eating such foods? This early out I don't think you should be or even considering eating any; this is just setting yourself up for failure. Oh and please update your stats, much easier to answer your posts

    The thoughtless comments

Can you serve the starch leftovers for a few days? Say cook 2 cups of rice and serve it plain one day, stir fry the next, spiced rice the next. That way no waste and he still will get his starch. Sounds like he is getting jealous of your weight loss and how good you look!

Old stomach still growling and gurgling

I think you mean your "new" much smaller stomach. Yes it will make gurgling, digesting sounds. Nothing to be alarmed about. It may not go away. I know with my sleeve it was always making noises, especially noticeable in a quite room.

I Have Accepted That My Tummy

I am finding beans to be a good source of protien. I have made a few recipes with beans and they are delicious and easy to digest. I will pair the beans with cheese to get more protein. I am just over 10 weeks and still have protein powder for lunch(mix with yogurt and flavorings) to keep my protein intake up.

    Running shoes

How coincidental I just went to a running store today as I am having major knee/walking problems. I was fitted by an expert and bought a pair of new balance. I also have ordered a pair of mizuno and a pair of new balance hiking boots(insulated) for the winter!

Help! Possibly doing DS rather than Sleeve

I revised from the sleeve to the gastric bypass; having said that I suggest you go with the DS. It is not hard to take vitamins everyday actually I enjoy it. I had looked into the DS instead of GB but do to the cost went with the GB and am very happy I did. My stomach is now 1/3 size of my sleeve stomach. Having that much weight to lose you will probably be more successful with the DS than the sleeve; in my opinion.

    I have been rejected

I think the other poster much be making a joke!! HaHa! There are long line bottom body shapers and you can get a tank top style for the upper half. I don't think you have to duct tape yourself for heavens sake! You could also get a compression garment that they use for plastic surgery for arms/upper body just get a bigger size so as not to be so tight. They are actually quite comfortable. Marena has a nice line of garments you can find them online.
  25. glad to hear you found out what it was. It is unfortunate though that the surgeon did not consider taking out/looking at your gallbladder when he was in there in the first place! Happy that you are now on your way to healthy recovery.
