  1. Oh I'm not sure to tell you the truth. My dr. Said it hasn't been around that long. But you know how dr.'s can be.
  2. The sleeve and the gastric bypass (rny) are 2 different procedures.
  3. As a diabetic I didn't have to think twice about the sleeve. I rather take the Vitamins than having to take or deal with diabetes for the rest of my life. I hope you find.the.right thing to do for yourself.
  4. That's a good article. I really think it has to do with the amount of weight you have to lose, maybe even the type of medication you are on now.. I am a type 2 diet controlled diabetic and had the sleeve done. When I left the hospital (2 days after surgery) my bs was in the low 70 and its been like that ever since. I feel great and accomplished. Good luck.
  5. Did I read this right? Was this the dietitian telling you all this?
  6. I'm 6 weeks today and only 18 lbs down.. I think I just broke the world record for losing so slow... Lol!
  7. Me too. I'll join. I've been 158 for about 2 weeks I'd like to be 148 by Thanksgiving.
  8. I don't know if I told you guys before but I don't like my nut. I feel like she doesn't know what she is talking about.. lol! I have an appointment with my reg. nut who use to be a bariatric nut. Next month. I emailed the one I don't like and heard from her today. She told me not to worry about the calorie intake nor the carbs but to focus on protein. And 60 gram of protein a day. Just feel frustrated with not having a clear answer. I just need to know cause obviously I feel like I'm doing something wrong I haven't lost anything for days then I gain 1 lb then loose it... On another note I went back to the gym and felt good. I'm only doing cardio for now. Once I lose more weight I will start weight training. Sorry had to vent....
  9. I feel you. I haven't lost anything for 2 weeks and I'm out 4 weeks. I weight myself today and I've gained 1.5 lbs overnight, really?! This is not cool.
  10. I finally emailed my nut. Since I'm confused about calories, carbs.. I hope I hear from her today. As I mentioned yesterday I was hungry all day and I ate more than I should've and I gained 1 lb. Go figure. Ugh!
  11. OMG! I dont know what's wrong with me.today. I am so hungry I can eat a whole cow. What do I do?
  12. Well um officially 1 month out and I'm still at a stall. I feel like I get full a lot quicker now. I've gone out to eat and done well as long as I stay clear of chicken.
  13. Thank you. I'm going to make a veggie soup. Miss having veggies.
  14. At 1 month out what kind of veggies can we have?
  15. I know it's for those who can't do the shakes anymore, but I tries the.yogurt and flavor for more protein and to spike things up a little. It's was very good though. Next time I might have to try it without the powder I'm getting real tired of it. Just can't get enough protein otherwise. Omg! Im going to try the weight watchers turkey chili its so good and low fat... Yumm. Do you have a good chili recipe, newgrandmother?
  16. Tried this this morning except I didn't use the mio cause I didn't have any.. I used the sugar free Torani syrup, I also added a scoop of strawberry protein powder. I like the Maxpro protein powder. I get it at maxmuscle.com or at the Max Muscle in San Francisco.
  17. I'm 4'11"... Pre surgery 184 Day of surgery 174 4 weeks post surgery 159
  18. Thanks for your encouraging words. You are right I should and I am happy with what I've lost. I did start under the 200's and I am just so,so happy that my new tool is working for me in other ways... Since surgery my diabetes has been in remission, my cholesterol and liver function are now normal and my high blood pressure is no more! So I am actually very thankful that if I haven't lost much weight I've lost the comorbitites. That was the main reason I had the sleeve done. I guess I will lose slowly but surely. Thanks.
  19. I haven't measured myself. I probably should. My surgery was on the 13th. But what I dont get is why I'm gaining 1 lb then losing it then stall... Oh how I hate it!
  20. It's nice to read everyone is doing good. Okay I'm getting frustrated here. Ladies I must be the slowest loser ever. I'm a little over 3 weeks out and lost 15 lbs. Then I gained one lbs and lost it... So confusing.. ugh!
