  1. Good luck to you! You will do just fine. I remember last week waking up in the recovery room and thinking to myself "I made it" and this will be you tomorrow!!!! So excited for you!
  2. Thank you Doxieville. I just had my 1 week post op appt with my surgeon this morning and I forgot to ask him. I see him again in 3 weeks, so thats why I asked here. Thank you for reassurance about no stretching with liquid. I dont think Im overdoing anything because when I feel full I stop drinking for a few minutes. I just needed reassurance because I have read so many posts on here about folks barely getting in 3 oz of liquid and I obviously can drink way more than that in a 30 min timeframe. This is such a wonderful forum and I appreciate all opinions and posts here. It is so good to hear from such a large population. Thank you again! (-:
  3. Have u tried mixing your Protein powder with unsweetened almond milk? Its easier on your tummy imo and its also less calories than milk. I was sleeved oct 8th and my bms arent as liquidy now. I eat greek yogurt thinned with almond milk and add truvia and pumpkin pie spice for Breakfast. I also add a little yogurt to my shakes. It has good bacteria to help digestion and I think it helps get everything back to normal.
  4. Thank u so much!!! I was getting worried because so many others here are having a hard time getting in fluids. And I certainly don't want to stretch my sleeve esp this early on. I was hoping it was just fluids passing through easily. I could never do that with thinned yogurt! Thanks again (-:
  5. I just had miso soup for dinner (broth only) and it took me about 50 min to drink it. Afterwards I measured it and it was 2 1/4 cups. Is this ok? I havent had any discomfort or nausea. Just not sure how much to drink in what amount of time. Thoughts???
  6. Do you still have your gallbladder? I dont know if it could be that but since its a new pain that persists you should call your surgeon to be safe. Leaks can still happen this far out too.
  7. Well, ounce per ounce, kale has more protein than beef. Eat a variety of green leafy veggies and 1 cup of beans (change them up) every day to get your protein in.
  8. Do you use myfitnesspal? If yes may i add u as a friend? I was just sleeved last monday 10/8. Thanks!
  9. I was sleeved on mon 10/8 and came home yesterday. Ive been focusing on getting my fluids in cant reaally get alot of protein in yet. Eating a littlr cream of wheat and thinned vanilla yogurt. My biggest problem is headache pain. I have sleep apnea and use my cpap. But even in daytime when my loritab wears off i have bad headache. Honestly this would be a breeze if i didnt have headaches. Anyone else have them? Is it possibly from the CO2 they use?
  10. I cant believe tomorrow is the day! I have to be at the hospital at 0600 and my surgery is for 0730. I have had nothing today but crystal lite after my breakfast of one lovely bottle of magnesium citrate. I drank it through a straw which helped alot! We had friends over to watch the football game along with lots of food. It was so hard, but a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Pdxman and others. Your posts here about the dangers of cheating truly helped keep me strong....so thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! (-: Thanks to this forum, i feel as prepared as i can. At least i know what to tell myself mentally. I never realized my relationship with food until this past 10 day pre-op diet. Wow what an eye opener! Good luck to my fellow sleeve brothers and sisters this week! And to those from last week glad u did so well!!!! Cant wait to be on losers bench tomorrow (-:
  11. Hello to my sibling October sleevers! Wow how our family has grown. Im on day 6 of 10 day pre-op and its so true the first 3-4 days are the hardest. As of this morning Im down 7 lbs. Im so excited and scared at the same time...just ready for it to be behind me. We are having friends over to watch the football game Sunday...should be interesting for me because i have to drink the bottle of magnesium and then all clear liquids (no more protein shakes). Hmm i wonder how much of the game i will actually see? Maybe i should install a tv in my bathroom!!!! Lol Monday will be here before i know it! Im so glad to hear from the others sleeved this week! Glad yall made it through ok (-:
  12. I love this! For me, i was skinny my whole life and heard every skinny joke in the world. Its only been over the past 16-18 years that i have been overweight. I dont put on heirs hence the " just me." I feel like a skinny person on the inside, its my personality, and im trapped in this body that is not me. So i say im just me and skinny on the inside (-:
  13. Have you tried making some hot tea with a few thin slices of fresh ginger root added? I am having my sleeve in exactly 3 weeks from today (yeah!) so i dont know about post nausea, but the ginger tea always feels nice in my tummy now.
  14. I did a google search on "5 day pouch test" and read links from there. There are great ideas and instructions to get back on track. Maybe reading info there will help???? You can do this! I have a sugar addiction and its hard for the first few days but once you get the sugar outta your system its a little easier. Tomorrow is a new day and we are here for you (-:
  15. Wtg!!!! Loved the link btw, thanks for the laugh
  16. Mine is set for Oct. 8th. I cant believe we are almost a month away!!!
  17. Hi all, im sched for Oct 8th. I cant wait ! Im so ready to start my new life and also apprehensive that maybe this wont work either. Im having surg in Chesapeake Va by Dr. Chastanet. He is wonderful. When i read all the posts about not being hungry and losing weight i get so inspired.
  18. Have you tried the isopure drinks? They are sold at GNC and they may let you sample one before buying.
