    Why is it?

Call your doc and get your levels checked. A lot of things could cause this. I had asthma as a child, I still have it, but only exercise induced. If I try to power walk or run without using my albuterol 1st I will get light headed from lack of Oxygen. Check with the doc, could be a lot of things. Congrats with your success!
  2. That is my biggest problem. Getting hungry then trying to "wolf" it down like I use to.

    Question

I had surgery on a Friday and tried to go back to work on Tuesday- ended up only working a half day. Then I went back full time on Wed. But, I am at a desk most of the time. As far as getting preg- some docs opt to take all the Fluid out, some only take out fluid if needed. Before you try, just ask you doc their take and follow their rules.
  4. Greek Yougurt with fresh blue berries on top for breakfast. Protein and fruit- good way to start the day.

    How long?

As your band is tightened further you will have more and more change of getting stuck, but that doesn't mean you will. I get stuck when I try and eat to fast and either take to large of a bite or don't chew enough. You will KNOW when you are stuck. Before my first stuck episode, I was like you, but now I KNOW what being stuck is and it sucks.

    Decisions.....

I had the lapband just a little over 11 months ago and have lost 58 lbs. Most within the 1st 6 months. I am glad I did it, it has change how I look at food and what I put in my mouth. I do feel healthier, just wish my weight loss was more. I have made no secret about my anxiety disorder on this site. While I don't really like telling people around me about my disorder, I want this place to be my safe zone where I can discuss it. I am currently taking Paxel, which has changed my life, in the fact that I hardly have any symptoms of my disorder now- which is AWESOME!! I also, have discussed my difficulty in having a child. Prior to getting banded I had 3 miscarriages. The doctors never figured out the cause. Now, I have been given the green light from my surgeon to try for a child, I have to stop my Paxel. This worries me, the last thing I needs is my anxiety returning during pregnancy. My OB/GYN has is trying to transition me for Paxil to a different SSRI that is ok during pregnancy. Once I have been ok on that for a month or two I can go ahead and try. This being said, the hubs and I have decided to try one more time. With all the med stuff, we can't try until July or Aug, but we are going to try. I am not sure if it will take this time around or not. Honestly, I some what fear getting pregnant, in that I know I will gain weight and I don't want to gain weight, but I must for a healthy baby. So to that end I must be very careful and take good care of myself to make sure I don't gain any more weight than I need to. None the less I am excited about trying again and I know that with support and help whatever weight I do gain I can get back off once the little one is here. So please send a prayer up for me!!

    Dumb Question

Okay, I know this is a totally dumb question, but I am going to toss it out anyway. If you drink a Protein shake for a meal, should you wait to 30 min afterwards to start drinking more Water? The shake is liquid, but it's Liquid Protein. What do you think? What do you do?

    food

While cheese can be a high fat/calorie snack, as long as you are tracking calories it's fine. I frequently eat weight watcher cheese sticks - they are 70 calories and yummy with a small handful of grapes, keeps my snack calorie count a little less than 200 and that is where I like it. Try to find low fat cheese. It isn't as bad as it once was, it is actually pretty good now. I fine I really like Weight watchers brand, but the 2% kind is also good.

When did you start using hand weights?

I was about 3 weeks out when I started using 5 lbs weights. Don't try to move up to far until everything is healed. You don't realize how everything is so interconnected until you pull something.

    When Can I Start Jogging?

I was told to take it easy for 6 weeks. No ab exercise and not jog/running. I could walk or do hand weight or work my legs on the total gym, but nothing that would cause excessive "jiggle" for the ab area. Just think- you do not want anything to "jiggle" lose.

    UP, Down, All Around

I wonder when the mind games end, boy I hope they do end. I know that we all have a problem when figuring out portion sizes, which is why measuring and weighing is so helpful. But, what about our body. My weight has bounced for months now. Up 2 lbs, down three, up 2, down 1, up 2, down 4- you get the picture. I slowly dropped from 199 in Dec. to the lowest I have seen 188 in May. I am currently doing the bounce thing still. I haven't had a fill since Feb and have an appointment for one next week. My meals are no longer holding me 4 hours. Any way with all the up down of the scale, what does that say for how I look? I look in the mirror and I see that my face is smaller, as is my body, but I still feel HUGE! I slide on one pair of 14 shorts and they fit perfect, then slide on another pair and they are loose. Last night I went out for a Walk/Run with the hubs and 2 dogs. As I slipped on my 12/14 gym shorts that fit perfectly (last year they were like a 2nd skin), my sports bra and my old outer banks t-shirt. I realized that my boobs stick out further than my tummy now. I clearly see my feet. All this is great, but I still feel like a walking Shamoo Show. I am just getting so frustrated with all of it. It is like this process has become all consuming. Everything is about my band and my weight loss. The doc said last time I have been successful, but I am still so big. I mean 188 is a lot less than 244, but still it's a long ways from the 125 the charts say I should be. I by no means believe I will ever hit 125, but I would like to see the upper 130's- and low 140's. But, that is still 40+ pounds away. I begin to wonder will I ever make it. I am still very fatigued, which my OB/GYN attributes to my extremely low Vit D level, my mildly down B levels and my mildly low iron levels. I am currently work toward getting these up with insane regiment of pills. Maybe, once my level get back in the homeostatic range with weight loss will continue. Any one else feel like this sometimes?

    How Long?

I have had my band 11 months now. I've lost 58 lbs. My last fill was in Feb. Since Feb. I've only lost a couple of pounds, my loss seems to have flattend out. At one point I could eat Breakfast in the AM and wouldn't be hungry till lunch then I would eat lunch and then not hungry till dinner. This AM I ate 1 pack of oatmeal with a half of a chopped up apple in it, and a teaspoon of granola on top. This use to keep me full till lunch. But, for the last couple of days I am really hungry- belly growling by 10:15 (Breakfast around 8am), that is only a little over 2 hours. I am guessing even though I haven't lost much I am in need of another fill. I can't see my doc until the end of next week since he is out of the country. Any tips on how to deal until then? I am noshing on cantalope at the moment to quench my hunger.
  13. Why am I not allowed to use PM? I haven't done anything wrong. When I go to it, it says I don't have permission for that and it's not allowed. What is going on??? I was able to use it once opon a time. HELP PLEASE

    How Long?

Oh, and my NUT told me, that Oatmeal was great due to the Water soluable Fiber it would help control blood sugar. She suggested adding fruit to the mix for more fiber, the granola I use is basically dry oats with a little honey on it. So not sure what to believe. I know a plate of eggs would be better, but I get stuck easy on eggs. Protein Shakes just don't hold me.

    How Long?

One of my big problems is I have to take something I can eat at work. I get to work at 6:30, but don't ever eat until 8- after a bottle of water and a cup of coffee.

  17. This sometimes is the way it is. Plus remember if you ate anything high in sodium you could have extra water weight. Then ask yourself have you pottied. Some many things effect that number. I jumped Tuesday- Monday I was 188.7 and Tuesday 190.5- WTH- but it is right before aunt flow show up so, maybe that is it.

    Thirsdays the day, sad...

Good Luck with your surgery and remember you are doing this for you, not him. You are important! Like others have said maybe you need to think twice before walking down the aisle. I know you don't want to hear that, but you are better off leaving him now then it ending in a nasty divorce later. Have an honest heart to heart with him. Tell him that you feel like if he really loved you he'd be there for this important event. See what he has to say. A man who really loves you would move heaven and earth to be there when you need him.
  19. I had my gallbladder removed the summer before I had lapband. The only thing that I can't do is the greasy fatty foods- runs right through. Before I had it removed I had to quit drinking coffee, it would cause stomach pain, but now I am back to my cup a day. I think everyone is different. Plus it takes a while for your body to regulate after removal. My BFF and my mom both told me it would take a year for me to get back to "normal", well they were right- then I had lapband.
  20. Went for a Walk/Run last night- I am surprised I am not more sore this morning. Last night I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, but today I feel good.

    Embarrishment

When my hubs ask his mom what her Mother's Day/Birthday Wish was, her answer was come up and see me. My MIL lives in Ohio and we see her about once, sometimes twice a year. She is a sweet little lady and I want to make her happy. But, with my insane work issues these days, it has been hard for the hubs and I to set a date to go. Which seemed to make the MIL very sad, but she didn't say anything. After some time and getting some training dates and such I figured out when I could manage to get a few days off work. So last night we called her and told her we were looking at the weekend of July 27th and wanted to make sure that would work for her. She was elated and said that she would make it okay, if that was the only time it would work for us. So date said, headed north that weekend. My MIL cheerfully continued to talk a bit and ask how much had I lost now. I turned red faced! When she was here in November she took me shopping for new clothes, at that time I had lost right at 50 lbs. Now it is 6 months later and I am only 8 more lbs down. So I lied a touch- I told her I was down 60 lbs and I am only down 58- so not to bad. My MIL had a friend who lost 100 lbs in a year. I am afraid she is going to be disappointed when she sees me. I know it shouldn't bother me and I should be happy with the results so far, but I want her to see me as a success not a failure. For some odd reason I always feel a need to impress my MIL. When I first started see my hubs it took her a long time to warm up to me. I am 7 almost 8 years younger than my honey. While she didn't say anything to him, she ask mutual friends if they thought I was just going for him for his money or if I really love him. Of course that was a LOL because I had seen his bank statement and if I was in it for money I would have quickly broken up with him. Anyway, she was still not getting the warm and fuzzys when we married, she told me on our wedding day - "make my son happy and don't leave him". Her tone was one of if you hurt him I will hurt you! My husband's first wife walked out on him just said she didn't love him maybe never did. He was messed up from this for a while. When I got pregnant the MIL was all of a sudden so happy that I was in his life. After all I was going to give her a grandbaby. Then we had to call her a few weeks later and tell her we had lost the baby- this killed me - I hated to hear the disappointment in her voice, but she was very sweet to me. Since that time she and I have gotten along very well. All I want to do is please her, which is nuts. Hopefully, getting on the Vit D will help my weight start heading down- maybe I will be at the 60 mark by July! I hope so.

Dylan- My hubs is my everything, I love him as much as I love to breath. He is the best thing that happened to me, but I think my MIL worries because she doesn't get so see us often so she doesn't Know what is going on. Each time we see her I think she gets a little more comfortable with me, she is sweet, but I just have this desire to please her.

    vitamin D3

I am currently on 5000 IU a day, due to mine being VERY low. My weight loss has plateaued for the last couple of months and he said this could be the reason. According to research our bodies need Vit D to tell our fat cells to release fat instead of store fat. Low D can also effect everything from our heart to our bones due to Vit D being needed to absorb Calcium. Both our bones and muscles need Calcium to function properly. So I am on this high dose for 3 months and then I go back in to have it checked and will go from there.
  25. Great so I need to go in to have my band checked and my doctor is out of the country for two weeks. Wonderful!
