  1. I posted this in another thread, but I wanted to share my incisions pic. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op.
  2. I have to say I am pleased. Historically I keloid especially on my shoulders. I did not keloid with my c-section incision, but I did with my breast reduction. So these are looking like they may heal minus keloids. All I can say is I m thankful for that!
  3. He took mine off at my post op appt. they are completely closed. He wanted me to keep them moist. I am using neosporin. It helps with the mild pain and itching.
  4. Here is what my incisions look like. Tomorrow will be two weeks post-op. Let's see if my attachment worked.
  5. I am planning a Halloween Party for our daughter's 1st grade class. I am looking for a punch minus any type of soda including Ginger Ale or 7 UP. I have only found one that may be a possibility. Any ideas out there? Thanks!
  6. I can't eat bread, rice, pork, or beef yet and of course sugar. I am really happy with my dr and nut's plan. I feel like I am retaining water though. It is not from salt . I eat very little processed foods. I am keeping my eye on that. Do not want kidney issues
  7. My husband could not wait! My NUT told us at my appt she only wants me to weigh in at my monthly appts. That gave hubs the green light. My measurements are telling it all! In August in weighed in at 263 chest 48 waist 42 1/2 Hips 55.3 Right thigh 32.5 Left thigh 33.3 Right arm 16.5 Left arm 16 Neck 14.7 My 1 week preop appt I weighed in at 246 Chest 45.4 Waist 39 Hips 54.3 Right thigh 31.4 Left thigh 31.4 Right thigh 15.3 Left arm 15 Neck 14.5 Make sure u measure, don't just count on the scale!!!!
  8. My NUT and DR do not do mushies or full liquids. It seems to be that way in all the "foreign" areas. This AM I had 1 egg, 1 slice of turkey bacon and a tbsp of no sugar added frui cocktail. lunch I had 1/3 cup of shredded chicken with tomatoes smashed with a bit olive oil to keep in moist. I also had a few pieces of papaya and fresh strawberries. I am suppose to eat 1 carb a day no bread. I had a half of a mini arepa. I will make mashed cauliflower for tonight. I am also making a eggplant Parmesan recipe from weight watchers. Everything has gone down well. I only drink plan Water, hot tea, or aromatics. I am getting between 50-60 OSS a day. I had my first cafe latte today went down fine.
  9. My NUT said all meats should be moist. If not I might feel like they are stuck.
  10. Mine itched like crazy too. I think it means they are healing and drying up.
  11. I know. I was surprised. It is just so different here. I don't even do protein shakes. It is different and has been effective with their patients. She told me she knew I had been reading a bunch on the internet LOL, That 23lbs includes my pre-op diet weight. But I gained like 7# in the hospital with all the fluids pumped in my body. But I am sure my husband is going to hide my scale to night. I will not know my weight until my next appointment. I need to break the a habit anyway! How are you feeling? Edit to add: Thank you!
  12. I went for my follow up last night. My incisions look great! I found out that my stomach came out through my belly button, so I currently have 4 visible marks. I am down 23 pounds. I just love my doctor. I will go back for my next follow up in November. However, we stay in touch via email. I finished my heparin shots and I am walking every afternoon. I will meet with the Trainer per doctor's orders once I am cleared for exercise. I also met with my NUT. I was cleared for all foods minus breads, rice, sugars, and not acids. I am not suppose to drink juices or eat soups HA. I guess she figured almost 4 weeks was plenty. She reiterated eating slowly, chewing, and I am suppose to eat 5-7 times a day during this stage. Before, I get beat up, I am overseas in South America and their ideologies are different. I know there is a lot of drama on the boards about puree vs moving to solids to soon. I have to say I am very pleased with their approach here. I also trust them. She reminded me that she has been treating WLS patients since 1995. She understands that there are many different protocols. I told her if I didn't trust them I would not have had my surgery here. So I had 3/4 of an egg this AM and 3/4 of a piece of turkey bacon, and a little over a teaspoon of fruit cocktail no sugar added. It went down well and stayed there. I am pleased. It is a huge adjustment. edit to add: I am not suppose to weigh myself, only at my appointments and no calorie counting.
  13. At what point did you start purée? It is funny I am patiently waiting for this phase!!!
  14. Unfortunately I think people come to Colombia without doing the proper research. I've lived in Colombia for four years and I just had my VST in Colombia. I had care comparable probably to what I would've had in United States. I have had many coworkers and friends have plastic surgery in Colombia Bogota that is without any problems. Unfortunately, complications can happen anywhere. I don't believe in going to any other country to get any procedure done without doing your proper research. Overall Colombia and the Dominican Republic are both Third World countries; however not every city is equal. Bogota is a developed city with good medical care. And believe me I'm not pushing you to come to Colombia to have surgery. I just don't want people to think that this place is full of hack job doctors because that is not true. I was on the same floor two doors down from the President of Colombia. Believe me when I tell you that man could go anywhere for his surgery and he had it here. Edit to add: I am not saying she came here without doing her research, but I know of one incident where a girl died from going to a "DR" with the lowest price. Research research and that goes for any country, abroad and US!!!
  15. I spent the other night reading eggface's blog, amazing. I have seen the other two as well, such great resources.
  16. It is hard to believe I am a week and a day post op. I must admit I am ready to advance my diet. I also must admit that if it wasn't for you guys I would be off VST. Just so much BS on the boards. Yes, I am emotional right now and usually have thicker skin, but not right now.
  17. I reported her days ago. We are all titled to our own opinions. However, some of us have GOD given common sense not to express our feelings in a way that offend an entire race. This is not the first post I have seen you spout your ignorance. Talk about leaving people alone... You must be one miserable women. REPORT THAT!
  18. That is awesome! I have obsessed about what I ate and drank my last two vacations and stilled gained weight! I want my next one to be like yours!
  19. Can I just say for someone that has been eating different variation of soups for 3 weeks, y'all are killing me! Damn both plates look good!
  20. Oh! I am so ecstatic and happy for you. I know you have been going through some things. I am praying for you and wishing you a speedy recovery. I am so glad you were able to proceed!
