The myth that high BMIers lose more quickly
I must admit I was never a soda drinker and my diet was not perfect but not horrible leading up to my VSG. I was not a fast food junkie. Matter of fact, the year prior to VSG I was on a supervised diet and it took me 6 months to lose 17 lbs.; that is what prompted me to have surgery. I started with a BMI of 43 and have lost 46 lbs in 6 months. It has been painfully slow and I work out at least 5 days a week. I don't know why I am such a slow loser or what it is attributed too. What I do know is that it is still easy for me to gain and hard to lose. I wish I had an answer to my dilemma. Because I often question myself. My husband agreed to the surgery because he saw how hard I was working and not losing. I have my days when I am frustrated because I see people upset they they are in a stall at month six and have dropped 80 lbs. Hell if I had dropped the wanted 10 lbs a month I would be ecstatic, but I am not even there.

8 Months out and still feeling like I'm not worthy of my success!
You have done so well! You are an inspiration to others and should be so proud. So many people say that it takes awhile for the mind to catch up. Enjoy this time! You deserve it.

2 scrambled eggs?
Yeah when I told my NUT I could eat 2 eggs she almost spased out! I try to stick to whites, but I can eat 2 eggs, but I would not eat anything else with that. I think I can eat more than most and it worries me!

UPDATE ON OCTOBER SLEEVERS WHERE ARE YOU
I was sleeved 10/1 and down 45lbs. I am a slow looser and learning to except that. I work out 4-5 days a week and try to track what I eat even though my Nut doesn't want me to. I tolerate everything including sweets. I am in a stage now that I don't like meat or fish very much and I am learning to deal with that. I have been enjoying more beans and I eat a ton of eggs. I have another 55lbs to lose and it probably will take the whole year of not longer. I know my resting heart rate has improved and my heart rates during workouts are not off the charts. I am not perfect and some days are better than others. We are moving from Latin America to Virginia in a few months so my stress level will increase. I just try to take each day and not beat myself up.

Struggling Eating Meat, HELP!
Yeah never thought about becoming a vegetarian. I will look at some high Protein dish ideas. I don't like fish right now either. I have been tolerating fine. It is the taste that I am not liking. I can tolerate everything I have tried. I am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this at 6 month mark.

Struggling Eating Meat, HELP!
I don't have a problem digesting, I just am don't like it. I have only thrown up once eating shrimp and that was early on. I have only had slimmies twice early on. I learned quick on how to eat because it was not a nice feeling. But not liking the taste is a new experience for me.

Struggling Eating Meat, HELP!
I am am almost 6 months post and I am beginning to not like eating meat. This last past week I had my housekeeper make me some pinto Beans in the pressure cooker. I enjoyed those much better. I also made some tuna and that was much better chicken or beef. Has anyone else went through a phase this far out and what did you do for Protein sources? Did you begin to like meat again? Cottage cheese is hard to get here where I live. I have been off shakes for along time. I eat eggs everyday. Any suggestions are appreciate. Fish is yuck to me too!

Not comparing weightloss to others
I am almost 6 months out and 45 lbs down almost half way to goal but is has been a fight. Celebrate your accomplishments! If I compared myself to people on the forum I would be ready to jump off the nearest bridge. Since I am a slow loser exercise is essential for me. In the long run my body will be more conditioned and stronger for it. For that I am thankful because if it wasn't for the slow losses I may just give up exercise all together! You are doing fabulous!!!! Congratulations!

Water Weight Gain with Cold and Cycle
Has anyone gained water weight while taking OTC's? Last week was a weird week. I got really sick (cold) and was on my cycle. I gained 7lbs. I knew it could not be right. Granted I had not worked out since last Thursday, but knew there was NO way I could gain 7lbs! I dropped 4 of those lbs yesterday. I am still suffering with congestion, but feel much better. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I go to Drs 1st week of April and will talk to him about it then as well. I was actually drinking more water to help flush out the cold and eating less. I knew I was not flushing because my urinating was not the greatest.
