selbradey got a reaction from ElaineB in One year since my first surgeon appt
Today marks one year since I had my first appointment with my surgeon. Not knowing what to expect, afraid that I would not get approved, afraid of complications and death, afraid of being stuck in my 215 4'10 frame, and not being able to change.
On July 13th was my first appt, and on November 19th, my life totally changed. I went from 215 to now 146. I need to be 120 for my height. I have not been able to follow up with my surgeon because I lost my health insurance. But, VSG has changed my life. Now, mind you, almost a year out I can eat alot more, and if I want to cheat I can. I workout, use my fitness pal, and hold my self accountable. I am by no means perfect. And I dont ever want to be perfect. But I love my new healthy lifestyle.
As someone who is a diagnosed binge eater, (I have not binged since October), I like to say that my VSg is my tool. A tool that helps shape my life. I am no longer on a diet. I have created a new way of life. Clean eating, working out and fighting the demon of addiction. I am so thankful for that day one year ago. I am so thankful for having been given a second chance. I still fear weight regain. But I am diligent on keeping track of calories and my activity levels and of course my clean eating. Anyway hope everyone is well and good luck on your journey's

selbradey reacted to No game in Slightly controversial drink (wine, spirit, beer) poll
Tequila shots!! A couple of weeks ago when I was at my brother and sisters in-laws house.. It was getting late and I thought we should leave so my husband and brother in law called me into the kitchen along with my sister in law. Well lets just stay we stayed for quite a long and had quite a few lime wedges laying around
Oh side note just like Fiddleman, when I drink I get buzzed real fast. But then it goes away real quickly it's weird I can't get "drunk" not that I want too but it's weird..

I haven't dared yet, but I love wine and margaritas (especially patron).

I like a silver Patron on the rocks with a few limes. You can sip it for a while - like a margarita without the sugar!

Gold Patron is the best. I will have two shots at the most. After a HARD run (much later after the event) I will drink patron and then get in the hot tub. Best relaxation ever!! My muscles are grateful. I do this maybe once a month if that.
My other favorite is flavored vodkas mixed with juice. This is more like a dessert tho and I partake in the liquid goodness no more than twice a month. The biggest problem I have with this is wanting to eat chips and salsa while drinking. Something about the sweet and salty that is just too tasty. It's also a social thing because I'm usually at a friends house hanging out.
