  1. Well first you cant eat anything in sight. I used to want chocolate before surgery around that time of the month. Doesnt even sound remotely good anymore.
  2. yep I had myself a good old fashioned pity party. Had to pull my girl pantys up and just realize I couldnt live that lifestyle anymore and its not anyone elses fault that I got fat. Look to the future and all the good things that will come your way.
  3. congrats girlie. It is an exciting emotional time. You are going to do great!!!
  4. Jenn The Protein drink in the morning is a great suggestion. I heard on Dr Oz that you need 35 grams of protein in the morning to jump start your metablism. I am like you and cannot eat first thing so I always do my Protein shake in the morning. Then for some reason I never know when Im hungry but do get a stabbing pain when I dont eat. So I pretty much set myself up to eat something every 2-3 hours. baby bel light, string cheese, greek yogurt. It helps me alot!!!
  5. Mary You will be the belle of the ball.. Have a blast!!!
  6. woohoo girl!!! that is so awesome. Tell her to go ahead and by the next size down.. you'll be there before you know it
  7. ok guys you really need to get in a different frame of mind. Its hard, we have all been there. You will gain some weeks. Your body is in its wtf mode. You have shocked the hell out of it and it needs time to adjust. Im 7 months out and I have had so many stalls I cant even count them.. yet still thru it all I have lost 125 lbs. Not too shabby. Look at the bigger picture. IT will come off on fats on time not yours. Hard for most of us after all we have been thru. Good luck and hang in there! Dave- wish I could be like you and stay away from the scales... but it's like a sirens song ... keeps luring me back day after day!!! ha!!
  8. oh honey.... so sorry to hear that . I am hopeful that something will come up that will allow you to have your surgery.
  9. Wow you are doing great!!!
  10. Welcome to the group girlie
  11. we all use this forum for different things. Dont feel bad about posting. We are just glad you are here. Im sorry you are having troubles. It does get better. congrats on the weight loss so far... isnt it amazing??? I love the new tool we have
  12. I originally opted for the sleeve but after discussing with my surgeon and nutritionist decided on rny. Specifically because I am a grazer and didnt want the sleeve to be empty and me be able to graze on whatever I wanted. I needed to be accountable for what I ate and the rny seemed to be the perfect tool for me. The band wasnt even an option for me. The fills seemed like a pain in the butt and quite frankly I hadnt heard very good things about them.
  13. so sorry for the loss of a good friend. I am glad your husband is ok!!
  14. Congrats on gettng a date. It will be here before you know it.

  17. you can do this!!!!! Oct 9th is not that far away woo hoo
  18. Girl, Sorry you are having problems. I start my morning off with a protein shake that way its 32 grams of protein right off the bat. Around 2 hours later I eat a baby bel light 6 grams. 2 hours after that a yoplait greek yogurt 12 grams... then just eat every 2 hours some sort of protein. The wetter the better. Hang in there.
  19. actually ran at the track yesterday. thats how inspired I was...
  20. baby bel are those little round cheeses that you see in the deli. I think 6 grams of protein per round thing and easy to go down because cheese is so soft. Also laughing cow cheese is a good one. Very soft moist cheese.
  21. I havent really had an experience with anyone being negative. But the positive comments once you start losing weight will be off the chart. Focus on the future. The negative people right now arent worth taking up rent in your head.
  22. greek yogurt, baby bel lights, chili, just to name a few of my favorites. I'll try and think of some more
  23. If you have no communicaton with the drs office... their fault not yours, I personally wouldnt feel comfortable with them doing my surgery and the follow up care. After all you will have to be able to communicate with them after the surgery if only to answer questions. But on the downside if you change surgeons will you have to go thru the whole approval process again. May be you should call your insurance company in the morning and ask them. Good Luck girlie
  24. seven months out and I have found its more of a head game in the beginning then anything. When I try a "bite" of something I used to eat that is not so good for me it either doesnt taste good or it hurts my pouch. You will test the waters to be sure, but be careful and use the tool as it is meant to be used. Eating our favorites is what got us in to trouble to begin with. Hang in there
  25. Maybe the scale gods will be on your side. Good luck...it's almost here!!!!!
