Have you ever tried Carb Watchers Lean Body Meal Replacement shakes? They come in chocolate Ice Cream, vanilla Ice Cream and strawberry Ice Cream flavors. They are really, really yummy and have 40 grams of Protein and only 1 gram of sugar. I'm not sleeved yet (unfortunately) so I may end up hating them after my surgery ....who knows. It's so difficult to "hear" what the medical professionals say because with my 5'5" height my healthy weight is between 124-152....big range! My Dr. didn't give me a goal weight however I have it in my mind at 135 or 140. But I'm like many of you....if I feel my body has hit the "right weight" I will stop there.

Hello everyone. I too have struggled with my "required weightloss". My surgeon is requiring a minimum weight loss of 20 lbs for me. I was only two pounds away and then put five pounds back on! I have until August 14th to lose the rest of the weight or my surger will be cancelled. This is sooo frustrating to have to lose weight before weight loss surgery! I understand the reasons, it's just frustrating.

I was sleeved July 2nd and have been SOOO looking forward to some soft foods. I made this and ate one for Breakfast today!! Who says you can't have crab for Breakfast? ! My goal is 60-70g of Protein a day' date=' and if I can do that without drinking a shake - I am all for it!

1 can/jar fresh picked crab (mine was 12 oz) HEB Plus carries some good stuff!

1 egg

2 TBLSP Cream cheese

1/4 C. fresh SHREDDED parmesan

4 Ritz crackers

1 tsp. Old Bay ****e

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (I like ****y - leave out if you don't!!)

Mix together - weigh out 3 oz portions

heat a TINY bit of olive oil i a pan, put crab into pan, flatten out and let sizzle - about 3-4 minutes on medium, then flip for another 3-4 minutes.

Sauce:

I cup sour cream

i small/medium avacado - add into sour cream

1/4 cup diced cilantro (leave out if you are one of those unfortunate souls that doesn't like it!)

juice of one lime

(can even add some capers if you like)

Serve on side of your crabby Pattie - I can eat about 3/4 of one patty - and I am hitting about 22g of Protein -

Did you have to wait the 2 months after you used your CPAP machine to get the surgery date?

I've been using the machine for almost a week and I feel horrible. I was up with a headache and just tired all the time. When I use the machine I feel like I am out of breath. Horrible feeling . I am using it because the people in the sleep study as well as the nurse practitioner said they need to see that I am compliant with using it for at least 1 night.

Hello scaredoftheunknown, I started my CPAP June 27th. I went to Dr. Le for follow-up on July 10 th and he said he will go ahead and schedule my surgery for August 27th.....provided I've lost the rest of the 20 lbs by my Pre-op appt. on August 14. August 27 th is exactly two months of CPAP use. I had a tough time with the mask the first three weeks but it got better after that.... Now I'm sooooo much more rested and don't wake up several times through the night! ....and my heart and lungs thank me for it!

I recommend you start out breathing slow and deep through your nose when you first lie down.....focus on relaxing. Then allow yourself to fall into a nice, natural breathing rhythm. I'm claustrophobic so I was worried about feeling suffocated...and I HAVE taken off my mask in the middle of the night without remembering, but the respiratory therapist said its totally common.

Hang in there....it's all worth it to come out the other end a healthier you!!

Hi I am going thru the process now. I am going thru S.S.F. Kaiser and Dr. Le is my dr. I have done all the classes, did the sleep apnea test which came back suggesting I have obstructive sleep apnea, I have a class next week. I also have an EKG and I've met with the dr. he gave me another month and I have to lose 10 lbs. my surgery goal weight is 175.00 I went to the appointment thinking I was going to have the RNY because I have the comorbitity diseases. He suggested I lose the weight on my own because I don't have much weight to lose. But because the diabetes meds make me sick he said the sleeve was the best option for me.

I just hope I don't have trouble losing those 10 lbs.

Hello there. I am having surgery (I hope anyway) on August 27th and Dr. Le is my dr. as well. I have seven more pounds to lose by August 14th....a bit nervous about that!...but not nervous about the surgery [yet anyway]. I too had to get a cpap...started using it June 27th. I'm feeling much more alert and awake during the day now. Best wishes on your journey!

Hello Everyone. I am a 46 year old, single mother of 10 & 8 year old boys. I started this journey the end of March and I am scheduled for surgery August 27th. I'm soooooo excited but I'm also struggling with getting my "required" weight off (20 lbs total). I have until August 14th to get seven more pounds off.....the HORRIBLE part of it was just last week I was only two pounds away! I feeling like I'm failing myself.....once again :-( .....and I DON'T want my surgery cancelled!!!!!!!

Hello All. I'm so envious of those of you going in for surgery the next week or two! I have to wait until the end of the month!!! It's probably for the best though. My Dr. required that I lose 20 pounds by August 14th. I've been doing well until the last four days! I keep making horrible choices and my weight is up!....by five pounds! I only had two pounds to go and now I have to take off seven! I'm soooo frustrated with myself. I ask myself, "are you self-sabotaging?" I TRULY am excited about this decision I have made....I'm doing it for HEALTH....not vanity. I spent alot of time researching, talking with many friends and acquaintances who have had it done etc. I can't wait for my surgery date to get here....but if I keep on making bad choices I won't have a surgery date! What the heck is wrong with me????

Regarding the "no BM".....I have found "Smooth Move" tea very helpful. I drink a cup before I go to bed and the next day I'm usually back on track....no cramping or nausea either. I get mine at Target.
