    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I had my two week post op appt with surgeon yesterday and I get to go to Stage III soft solids!! I definitely can't eat as much as I did on liquids but it was sooo nice! That tuna salad and deviled egg were sooooo good. And the strawberry and two bites of nectarine were tasty too!

    Vs Drama

So sorry to hear about your struggle. I know many people have done self-pay in Mexico with great results. Would that be an option for you?

I was diagnosed and started my cpap on June 27th. The machine was very quiet and as everyone has said....if the mask comes unsealed you'll hear the air forcing out. My mask is only on the nose as well. It made a WORLD of difference with how I felt during the day. However, I am looking forward to getting rid of it once I've lost enough weight!

    Ricotta Spinach And Cheese Cups

I want to try these just to see if I can get my boys to eat spinach!

    Delicious Soft Phase Comfort Food

Yum, can't wait until next week to try it! Thanks for sharing.

    Protein Shake Ideas

PB extract? Never heard of such a thing.....I'm curious where you get it too!
  7. That is fabulous!! You are doing a terrific job...keep up the great work.

    Telling Family

    Great! Best wishes to you.

    Am I Wrong? :/

Many people aren't good with "tact" when they are trying to express their concern. Maybe your family feels "tough love" is the best for you. That being said, it's still important you communicate to them "respectfully" that you appreciate their concern for you but it is YOUR responsibility to decide what goes in your body and YOU are the one who has to figure out what is ok and what is not ok for YOU. I haven't faced this scenerio yet but I have been thinking about how I will respond when the day comes. Hang in there.

When I was on my pre-op I had a "Prix Fix" five course meal....it was DELICIOUS!!!! But got right back on track and made it to my pre-surgery goal with no problem. Just say goodbye to "yesterday" and make better choices today. You'll be fine.

    List Of Cons

How is it going with the Coke Detox? I had been a Diet Dr. Pepper addict for over 20 years and thought no way in heck I would ever be able to get off of it. I even told the dietician I didn't think I would be able to do it. Well....I haven't had a Diet Dr. Pepper since May 5, 2012 and I don't even miss them anymore. On top of that I feel better than I have in a long time....no jitters, caffiene (or lack of) headaches OR spending the money on them every day (I drank six 16 oz bottles per day). It was worth it!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I was the same too. The nausea didn't stop until I said "NO MORE PAIN MEDS!....or anti-nausea meds!" The nurses were hesitent but I told them I had to do something drastic to stop the nausea and vomiting. During night two I vomited/dry-heaved every hour on the hour. Within five hours of stopping everything the nausea was gone and I was able to keep tea down. It was amazing how quickly I transitioned. Best to you on the minor complications still to be resolved.
  13. That's great! I hope I am the same....I've been laying low at home since my surgery on Monday, 8/27 so I haven't reallly faced any challenges watching someone else eat. I also haven't craved anything either....except watermelon sounded good when you mentioned it! I hope the "crave monster" stays at bay for all of us!!!! Congratulations.

    Fab 40's shout out

I was sleeved last Monday, August 27th. It was a rough couple of first days but each day gets better and better. I have lost 6 pounds in six days! I'm back to work on Tuesday....have my plan and looking forward to it!

    Telling Family

I was worried about telling my parents but when I told my mom she said, "Great! I'm not worried about you but I AM envious!!!"
  16. Thank you! I'm doing really well. In fact I'm able to eat alot more than I expected at day six!!! I was able to eat a 1/2 cup of cream soup and and 5 oz of protein shake for dinner. That seems strange to me...but I'm definitely losing weight!

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I'm so sorry the smooth move tea gave you cramps!!! I haven't had any issues with it at all...it's the ONLY thing that doesn't give me cramps. Crazy how we all react so differently to things. I hope the Miralax works for you.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

It's so amazing what a supportive group we have here. We are all done! I've found it interesting how some of us experienced no challenges and others had some or many (I had nausea, vomiting and stomach spasms). But it appears we all have agreed that it gets better each day. I look forward to continuing this journey with each of you and to celebrate the victories and work through the struggles. Happy day August Sleevers!

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I was shocked to have had a bm in the hospital today. I had to take Milk of Magnesia the day before surgery to clean me out....I didn' t eat anything in the hospital and much to my surprise I did "big business" today...day 3! I'm armed and ready now for clogs now though....thanks for the advice everyone.
  20. I'm officially sleeved! Dr. David Le was amazing! [and did I mention...cute!??!] I had to stay two nights due to nausea and not being able to keep liquids down but today was a completely different day. I'm so excited to be working on the new me! :-)

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

YAY! I'm home! It will be so nice to sleep in my own bed tonight. Takin' it one day at a time. So glad I made this choice for ME!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Thanks! It has gotten better each day. I had to stay in the hospital two nights because I couldn't keep anything down. I dealt with gas pains the first night but after that no pain....only nausea. The nausea is gone today and I'm keeping liquids down so it is so true what you and everyone else says....its gets better each day. Thanks for the support!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I'm sleeved!!! I've struggled a bit with nausea but haven't gotten sick.... Thank the Lord! I'm finally getting clear liquids today and if I'm able to urinate on my own I may be released this evening!! Hope all is well with my fellow 8/27 sleevers, as well as those who went before us and those to come!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Best wishes today. I'll meet you on the losers bench later today!! Get ready to walk, walk, walk!
