Getting banded today! Yay! Have to be there at 1245 surgery is at 145. Im very excited for this new journey to begin!

Good luck with all of you who got banded this month and are on their way!! You all have such a positive outlook and that is the way to do it! I am on my 4th day of my 7 day pre op diet, and down 9lbs! It's hard, but will be well worth it! <3 you all rock !

Hi Everyone... went back to work yesterday (desk job) after being banded on Friday 10/12. Surgical sites didn't bother me much the first few days but by Monday, the gas began to give me some shoulder pain and pain under my rib cage. Glad I knew what to expect. It finally gave way last night in the usual manner and I am WAY more comfortable now! Will have my one week post op appt tonight (a day early!).
I lost 25 pounds on the two week pre-op diet and now another 8 since surgery. One thing that is consistent with every bandster I know (friends, support group, online)... those who are successful follow doctor's orders to a T. They get in the mindset of knowing that the docs know what works and gaming the system is how we (I) got here in the first place. Do I love shakes and Soups every day with no chewing? Not particularly but they are medicine and I am sick with a disease called obesity. I wouldn't consider not taking heart medication or cancer meds. I just keep focusing on the end result, a healthier me! Hope all goes well for those waiting to be banded!

Surgery was all done by 10:00am a little nausea while in recovery but they gave me something and I feel ok now. Very little pain, so far

Joining in - had 2 weeks prior liquids - lost 7 lbs - banded Fri Oct 12th and have lost another 8lbs in under a week.. so a total of 15 - still have moment of "OUCH" in my stomach area - guessing its gas passing thru.. boooo to that.. I can't wait to hit 50 lbs

Headed to the Hospital in one hour for surgery in 2 hours. One night stay in the Hospital. That's the plan anyway

My date is Oct 25.

All I have to say is props to those of you saying that ya'll didn't need pain meds. I feel like a whiney baby. Lol. I usually handle pain pretty well. Who knows, it might be my period added in the mix. Idk.

so I'm still in the hospital 24 hours later as expected still nothing to eat but I'm not hungry ...pain is pretty good except gas pain starting to be stronger in my left shoulder... walking a bit to leave that... need to go down for the xray to make sure the band is in place and then I can go home if all is well..

I have been where you. I have sabotaged every diet attempt I ever made. Here is where it really stands though, all of my fears about being banded was just me trying to give myself a way out. What if's and I cant's allowed me to stay in my comfort zone. I want to stay in my fat suit so no one will see me. I want to say in my fat suit so no one will hurt me. I want to stay in my fat suit because what others say about me is true; a fat girl deserves no better. However, here is the real deal, I'm killing myself. I'm abusing myself. I'm hurting me more than anyone else ever did. I just want to give myself a break and allow myself to be worthy. I've had my lifelong supply already of pizza, Pasta, mashed potatoes and big ole fat steaks! A little deprivation isn't going to kill me BUT IT MAY....JUST MAY...MAKE ME TRUELY HAPPY.
I was banded 10/5 and I am learning that I can and I will..it's amazing.

Me too! Up since 3:30am! Can't sleep but we are leaving in half an hour finally! Good luck!

Fallbride and I both have surgery at 7:30a.m tomorrow morning! I'm a ball of emotions!

Hoping for October..been waiting for insurance to approve since 9/27.....I wish they worked faster..gives me too much time to think!

Just got done with having my EGD done, heading home. So excited they gave me my surgery time for Friday Oct. 12, @ 10 am. I can't wait. Keeping everyone in prayer that are getting it done today.

Had my surgery this am. Already home on the couch. Definitely having pain from the gas but so far so good. I was so nervous this weekend I broke out in hives. Hoping to blog my experience soon. Best of luck to you all with upcoming surgeries. It's an exciting beginning to our new healthier slimmer lives.

Hi I'm have my band fitted on Oct 9th 2012 with Dr chris de bruyne in Belgium. I live in the uk. I'm leaving for Belgium on the 8th by Eurostar so not long to go now !
