  1. You wouldn't feel comfortable with Dr. Ponce?
  2. I am trying to drink the protein drinks but they make my stomach churn. And the broth is so disgusting. I want to keep my protein up so I scrambled me an egg today and it went down good and stayed down. The only thing is my surgeon still wants me on full liquids. I've read that some allow eggs at this stage and some don't.... did anyone else eat eggs/mashed potatoes a week out?
  3. Rocky, I tried warning Alex that having Dr. Almanza on his team is going to give them a bad name quick. As I'm reading on here its already happening.
  4. I don't have a clue why bariatricpal added Dr. Almanza to their team. I think a lot of the complications that have happened they just don't know about. However, I did go with Dr. Zavalza and I had a wonderful experience with him. I definitely recommend him for sure..m Almanza...no way
  5. Yes, check into Dr. Zavalza I am leaving today, but had such an easy recovery and great experience.
  6. No, Rocky I didn't. I am trying to make Steve set him up an account and do it lol
  7. Check into Dr. Zavalza . I booked through here bariatric pal he's a great surgeon. And I am in the recovery condo now, not in a hotel. I have had a great experience. I have to head out tomorrow to go back home
  8. I am in Mexico now my surgeon is Dr. Zavalza. I choose the sleeve because I didn't want to mess with getting the fills and I wanted a permanent option as well.
  9. I had my surgery on March 20th and Dr. Francisco Zavalza was my bariatric surgeon. I am currently still in Tijuana and will do a full review of my experience when I get back home. Nothing but wonderful things to say I am in no pain, no complications (which was my biggest fear) and I am being well taken care of. If you have any questions please feel free to ask
  10. If anyone doesn't believe me just go message poor Steve Kaiser
  11. I can promise you that I am not a coordinator. I love people and if I can help someone out by sharing this, it could possibly save their life in the long run. He does 10 surgeries a day! They send you back to a hotel with your drain still in to recover.... It's awful
  12. Please forgive me, but why would you still proceed to book your surgery with him after you have read many negative things? Please reconsider.
  13. I have talked with several people over the years, getting feedback on all the surgeons in Tijuana. Most have really good reviews. Except one. Dr. Almanza. I was communicating with a man the other day who didn't really do any research on his surgeon, so he went with Dr. Almanza...big mistake. His story is so sad and that's why I am on here because he has no clue how to get on here and tell his story... But it's a legit story, you can even look him up on Facebook and ask him. His name is Steve Kaiser. Dr. Almanza made his stomach the size of a spring in a ball point pen. He has went through more surgeries to try and fix this, but his stomach keeps collapsing. He hasn't been able to eat food since August his medications are over $1,000 a month. He just went through another surgery on Friday to convert him to a bypass since he can no longer use his stomach. It took 2 surgeons and 4 hours to fix it. They said his stomach was twisted in half and kinked. What bothers me about this is he has yet to receive a phone call or anything from Dr. Almanza or his facility which is a complete joke. Not a real hospital. It's called a woman and children's clinic which is a complete shithole. Please do not take a chance and go with this doctor. Just google his name and read all the horrific stories out there he has. There are too many surgeons, good surgeons in Tijuana that will do your surgery safely.
  14. I am here right now love the doctors and no regrets
  15. After waiting and wondering if this day would ever actually come, here it is! I'm so nervous, but excited as well. I'm currently at the airport about to board the plane to go to San Diego, Ca. Then its over to Tijuana! I'm having a same day surgery and my surgeon is Dr. Zavalza. I will make updates along the way! Keep me in your prayers!
  16. Check out Dr. Zavalza! I'm heading out in the morning for my surgery :/
  17. I don't see how anyone could ever say this is the easy way out lol just getting through one day of drinking nothing but liquids is torturous enough
  18. I live in a really small town called Rye. Lol
  19. If you have Skype he will skype with you I just live in the sticks so I don't even bother with trying to skype lol
  20. That's wonderful! Are you in the facebook group?
  21. I would trust Dr. Ponce to do my surgery. The only thing that kind of turned me away from him was that I read from others he didn't speak English, or not very well. It made me a little anxious. It has nothing to do with whether he can perform my surgery, it was just that I wanted to be able to communicate openly with my surgeon. I do remember reading Dr. Ponce will give you a dvd of your surgery which is pretty cool!
  22. Are we supposed to tip in the hospital?
