NSV...feeling yourself....
Ima Loser replied to gmanbat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am guilty of being a feeler... I have to admit it... I am always feeling my stomach and every time I look in the mirror it is like I have to touch myself to make sure what I am seeing is real! -
Re: Last time I checked, this was the "Man Room"
Ima Loser replied to Ms.AntiBand's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think I accidentally just liked a post in the Man's room... OOPSS..Oh well... I don't really pay attention to where something is posted... Usually if the title of the Thread Interests me I read it, if I like it, I hit the like button sometimes, if I have something I feel is meaningful to add I comment... If not I move along, sometimes I follow it if it is really interesting... Hmmm... I guess I will start paying more attention! -
What do the dots under your picture mean? I am editing to ad: I have a whole bunch of dots and I don't even know what they mean LMAO!

Pre Surgery Weight: 264lbs DOS Weight (12.12.2012): 254lbs Week 1 Weight (07.09.2013): 181.8lbs Week 4 Weight (08/05/2013): 174lbs Goal Weight for Labor Day: 170lbs... Total weight lost: -7.8lbs... Pounds left to go: 4lbs!! I am down 1 pound this week... I know that in the past I would have said I am ONLY down 1 pound this week and I would have been upset about it. But I am not upset with that 1 pound! That's 1 pound down... I will take it... Weight loss to be at about 1 pound a week is awesome! I am getting close to my goal weight and I am expecting weight to come off ALOT more slowly now.

I am on Prednisone right now... I was put on a course of it because last Monday I had an awful allergic reaction to something (still not sure what) and they put me on a 12 day course. I am swollen, my face and hands are puffy and my stomach looks bloated... I have fluctuated badly with my weight and now I have put away the scale until after I am off of it! I know it will take sometime to completely get out of my system and all so I am hoping I can resist the urge to get on the scale, especially since I am 10lbs away from a 100lb weight loss and my goal weight... We will see what happens...

I have PCOS... I had surgery Dec 2012. I have lost more weight so far then I EVER thought I would lose! I am not sure how this will effect my fertility as I am not really ready to start trying to get pregnant yet and I have Mirena IUD, but all in all my weight loss has been really steady... Don't get me wrong I have experienced stalls along the way just like anyone else but even my PCP and Endocronologist (not only do I have PCOS but Hypothyroidism) are extremely happy with my weightloss results... I feel a million times better then I ever thought I would. My OBGYN explained to me that there are 2 types of PCOS (he explained this much more technically then I am going to) One type that you have no matter what you weigh, no matter how much weight you lose and then there is obesity induced PCOS. Sometimes when women gain ALOT of weight or are heavy most of their life they will have PCOS like symptoms. They are the women who basically get over the PCOS after losing weight... I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16... I didn't have a regular period until I was 18 years old. I ended up having one of my ovaries removed as well. No matter how much weight I lose I will ALWAYS have PCOS and the symptoms of it. What will improve is all of the other factors that being over weight plays on your fertility! I hope that made sense, I feel like I just went rambling on and on... If you have any questions feel free to message me!!!

Your start date and start weight for the 5:2 method
Ima Loser replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know how I missed this topic!!!! I started 5:2 sometime in Mid-May... My nutritionist actually is a big supporter of it... She is the one who initially told me about it. My starting weight was about 192lbs... Now I am 175lbs I am doing really great on 5:2 but I also have been doing great with my running as well so I am attributing my success so far with both!! -
How was your 5:2 day today?
Ima Loser replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a Tues/Thurs faster... I have to say I actually really love my fasting days but I have a feeling today is going to be AWFUL!!!... I am having a VERY off week, On Monday I had a severe allergic reaction to something and my dr put me on Prednisone... Now I am retaining water and gained 3 lbs since Monday... I have put my scale away and I am not getting on it until I am completely done the steroid... Unfortunately I had to take a 12 day course because we aren't exactly sure what caused my reaction and I couldn't see an allergist until next Wed night after all of my daily allergy medicine has time to leave my system. And of course I have all the crappy side effects that come along with taking a steroid medication... Bloating, increased hunger, edema... Oh and I have an issue with it slightly blurring my vision! Nice right!!! Oh well, good luck to all the Thursday fasters! -

How was your 5:2 day today?
Ima Loser replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Believe me, the 2 days in a row of Fasting was not intentional... Typically I am a Tuesday/Thursday faster! lol... This week has been odd though! -
I am 28. On my Date of Surgery I weighed 264lbs... Today I weigh 179lbs... Lately as my weight loss has slowed down I bit I have noticed my skin has been tightening up a little too... Obviously this a process that isn't going to happen overnight however I am starting to have some hope that one day I will have a more normal body... I have stretch marks on my stomach and arms and I still notice my skin getting tighter... I try to be good about moisturizing but I don't do it everyday like I should... Maybe if I did this would go a little quicker. I do work out a decent amount... There is hope!

How was your 5:2 day today?
Ima Loser replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Regarding all the posting about Thyroid Issues... I am hypothyroid... I lose hair like CRAZY when my meds need to be upped and that is seriously an understatement... That is one of the tell tale signs that I need to have my TSH checked... I have only had one time this happened since surgery and I knew I needed my levels checked bc of my hair loss and the complete stop in weight loss... I also have every symptom of Hypothyroidism in the book and I have them to the extreme so my body gives me HUGE signals when I need to up my Synthroid.... But I wasn't sure how my weight loss would be affected post-op and it came to a screeching halt! But that all being said when I make a hair baby it is more like a hair Godzilla! -
How was your 5:2 day today?
Ima Loser replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First of all, can I just say you ladies that respond to everyone are awesome! I can't even keep up with my own posting lol! I am on a fast day... I will end out the day with probably about 525 cals if My Fitness Pal is correct and I don't give in to any snacking later! I am usually pretty good about forgoing the snacking however I am having a rather hungry feeling day today for some reason.... I technically could count yesterday as a fasting day as well bc I ended the day at 504 cals, not on purpose either, just so happened I ONLY drank water all day and ate salad for lunch AND dinner... This happens ALOT in the summer. I live in NJ and this past week has been great for my diet bc it has been so damn hot I am not in the mood to eat anything. And the heat I can take but it has been about 200% humidity here all week and that is not good! Has anyone done a fast 3 days in a row? I feel like maybe I should plan to eat a more substantial dinner tonight because I ended Tuesday at 510 calories, Wed at 504 and today will be at about 525 cals... I am thinking it may be best for me to think of Tues and Wed as my Fast days for the week and be done with it! This Saturday I am going to an outdoor birthday party, I probably will have a lower calorie day that day too with this damn heat! -
Measuring by weight or volume?
Ima Loser replied to artymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always told to measure by volume not weight... For example, our stomach can hold let's say a 1/2 cup. 1/2 cup is 4 oz... Think of it like this: There is a HUGE difference between 4oz of feather and 4 oz of marbles... That is why my nutritionist and Dr told me to always measure the quantity of food by volume not by weight! -
Thanks for the welcome! I followed this thread from the beginning but never posted. I have been following the 5:2 method (I like using the word method instead of the dreaded D word...DIET) for about 8 weeks. My nutritionist actually recommended it to me. I typically do my fasting days on Tues and Thurs... I love it... My only concern has been moving around the days I go to the gym. I run most days typically 6-7 days a week. I try to go to the gym 5 days... I have found I am exhausted if I run AND go to the gym on my fast days so I usually run after my lite dinner meal for the day and skip the gym. My nutritionist felt the 5:2 way of eating would be great for me... She felt it would really help me even surpass my goal weight and she definitely suggested I continue 5:2 eating even after I reach goal and if I keep losing after I am satisfied to switch to 6:1

No pre op diet?
Ima Loser replied to taylormarie421's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon only required the liquid the day before and nothing after 7pm (my surgery was at 7am)... However I started a pre-op diet on my own. I replaced breakfast with a protein shake starting 3 weeks out (this helped me find one I liked post surgery) and at two week pre-op I cut out most fat and carbs.... -
Week 1- Starting Weight: 181.8 lbs Todays weight 179.2 Weight loss for week 1: -2.6lbs

When it comes to Dairy I typically choose low-fat options but that is bc my body digests them better then full fat options for some reason... I typically don't eat much dairy but when I do full fat gives me a very upset stomach... When it comes to other things like salad dressings and such, I usually dress my salads with a home made dressing of Balsamic Vinegar, Parm Cheese, and Garlic. When I make other dressings I use regular EVOO. I chose to use Full Fat Mayo made with Olive Oil. If I have the rare occasion where I am eating a different type of salad dressing (such as eating in a restaurant or at someone elses house) I just use full fat.

I will have to find some "before"pictures once I get home for you and take an after pic... But I can tell you our stats are kinda similar I am 5'6 DOS I weighed 264, my muffin top was awful...I was in a size 18/20 but really probably should have been a 22 or even 24... I wore spanx to try and hide it every day... I am pretty much an apple on a stick I carried all my weight around my mid section... I am 7 months post op today I weigh 180lbs and I am comfortably in a size 12... I don't have much of a muffin top anymore unless I try to wear a size 10... My legs are still about 2 sizes smaller then I need to fit my mid section but now it seems as if the weight is coming more off my stomach and arms... I lost first from my back, legs, face, neck, side boobs and arms... While I have been noticing a slow down in my weight loss I am starting to notice BIG, no actually HUGE changes in my body FINALLY!
